| Soledad 2002-11-16 ch 1, | abuseHow have I missed this one all the time? I love your description about the Awakening - and I'm glad that someone shares my interpretation that the ones the Elves awakened with wer their siblings, not their mates. The latter thoguht has always clashed with my understanding of free will. Now I can't wait for the third tribe to be introduced to the rest of the Quendi. |
| Woman of the Dunedain 2002-09-25 ch 1, | abuseInteresting! Your such a wonderful writer! |
| Claudi007 2002-09-13 ch 1, | abuseGreat story. Unique and interesting ideas as to the awakenings of Elves, and nice description of Finwë's first few thoughts and experiences. I too am of the mind that Ingwë, Finwë, and Elwë were the "big three", so always good to see someone else agrees! |
| LaDy 2002-09-13 ch 1, anon. | abuseThis is so cute! Poor Finwe, blushing because he was naked! And trying to figure what to do with the food. I can't wait to see what Elwe is going to do now! |
| Laurelin3 2002-09-13 ch 1, | abuseThis was great. To see the great kings confused about their sisters and stuff. I see you've taken a definitive stance on who the first to awaken was. I can't wait to see how it'll play out. I love your Ingwe. |
| Starlight10 2002-09-13 ch 1, | abuseI really like what you did with this story! I think you have discussed things in a very appropriate way, and considering what really must have felt like to awake at this new place, and find others just like you! I think you have captured that "primitive" feeling (for lack of a better word) that sense of beginning that the elves might have felt, still maintaining their elven characteristics. I also appreciate your trying to remain faithful to canon! This piece shows that you have invested time in asking yourself the same questions, and figuring out how the beginnning must have been for them, what questions they might have had, what doubts, what conflicts (such as who your brother is, and who your mate) This was very nice to read... Will you take this story further? If so, I'll be eagerly waiting ;o) |
| Finch 2002-09-12 ch 1, | abuseGood description of how it could have been when the Elves first awakened, what they would have felt and how they would have interacted. Ingwe, as always, is a very likeable character. And yes, the third tribe (by the way, they are the Nelyar, and the 2nd tribe are the Tatyar) would enter the world singing. But: there's NO way primitive Elvish tribes living in huts and clad in leather breechclouts would have had glass. Glass making is a far too sophisticated and elaborate process to have been invented so soon. |
| Moonstone Tears 2002-09-10 ch 1, | abuseBeautifully written. I really enjoy reading Sil fics, as the writers are usually well versed in what is 'elvish' and what really is NOT. a lot of fics out there tend to give the elves human reactions/personalities and this can become very annoying after a while. Keep up the excellent work. |
| Deborah Judge 2002-09-10 ch 1, | abuseI can't help you with how canon this is, but it sure is fun to read! I like seeing these great kings to be as confused and newly awakened, not sure if that person next to them is a spouse or a sibling, and what sort of world they have come into. Very creative and good thinking. I like that you don't try to make the Elves too human. |
