I know that I haven't finished...but his lover is Schuldich. Red hair has to be either Schuldich or Aya, and Aya's hair is always 'blood red' while Schuldich's is 'fiery', and you said fiery. Plus there were hints towards telepathy, and his character was nothing like Aya's, even before the accident.
