Years have passed, and this story still remains one of my most favorite fanfiction pieces out there. Doubt that we'll ever see the end of this wonderful story, but I can still hope.

I was surprised to realize I never reviewed this - I've tried emailing you, but the address never seems to be good.

This may not be helpful at all, but I can't think to "critique" something I admire so much. This resides very high on the short list of my favorite works in this catagory. Beyond that, though, I read this every time I need a reminder of what excellent fiction (not just fanfiction, but literature in general)can be. My only complaint is that you've never gone beyond chapter three, and one year after discovering this story I still hope you write more - I long to know what will happen. I can't help feeling that Satine's death is once again inevitable, yet I still hope for a different outcome...

The prose is stunning. The line ''...because Toulouse would have called me on the shadow I've made of my life" never fails to bring tears to my eyes because you create such a convincing and fully-realized human being in Christian. How rare it is to find a story written in 1st person POV that truly lives as breathes, as though the character were sitting right beside me telling me his story. And the beauty of the narrative, the word choices - the pathos and longing inherent in it all; the sharp observations about the tedium of mourning, and yet the inability to let go of the grief...I could literally go on and on.

Please email me - I'd like to know if you've got a new website, what else you've been writing since. We'll probably never see more of this story, pity, but I hope to see more of your work...somewhere.
