Seven Deadly Sins
Prologue
Truth, however, has frequently, and often unwittingly, been distorted for the sake of a good (and often not so good) cause. Universal truth's doubly so.
It is thus of very little surprise that, when Mrs. Chou received news of the arrival of an eligible young man of considerable fortune in the neighborhood, she presumed his design in settling at such an easy distance from the Chou household was in marrying one of her daughters.
This blatant distortion of a widely known and, in fact, universally acknowledged truth could and likely would have been avoided if had known the trouble that her, and consequently her family's, interest in this particular gentleman and his acquaintance would lead to.
In fact, had she known the affects that would come of her less-than-artful importuning of her husband to call upon this young gentleman, it is more than likely that would have succumbed to a genuine fit of hysterics.
But did not have such information at her disposal. Nor, had she had it, would she have been likely to have believed such a thing, for it is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife.
For, honestly, what sort of a single man (in possession of a good fortune) would be in want of a Husband?
An: And yes, in case you had not guessed it, this will be a frighteningly Shounen-Ai work, based largely upon the works of Jane Austen. While most pairings are near non-existant at this stage due to serious alterations in the plotline, it will center largely upon the highly scandalous affairs of Hotohori and Nuriko with a side-serving of Tamahome/Miaka and dashings of the other shichi-seishi.
Warning: This is an attempt to draw my Romantic side out of hiding, it is, however, skilled at camouflage and insists that my Snarky side take it's place.
And for the sake of formality: I lay no claim on Fushigi Yuugi. It is, quite clearly, not of my creation. Nor is Pride & Prejudice.
