Chapter 20: Epilogue:

"Hey Chloe!" Lex greeted as he walked into the Torch office.

"Lex!" Chloe exclaimed from her desk, pleasantly surprised. "What are you doing here?"

He walked straight up to her and planted a quick kiss on her lips.

"I came to drop off that info you wanted on Coelers Unlimited," he told her, leaning against her desk.

"You didn't have to do that," she said affectionately, taking the thick, red folder from him.

"I'll take any excuse to come see my girlfriend." He grinned and leaned down for another kiss, this one long and searing. "So how's the article coming?"

"Good, even better now that I have this," she said, indicating the folder.

"Great. I'm glad Mr. Sanders reconsidered, even offered to let you start now instead of the summer, how nice," he said, mysteriously.

"Yeah…" Chloe started. "About that, are you sure you had nothing to do with that?"

"Not a thing," he replied unconvincingly. "They were going to hire you before my father interfered."

"Uh huh," she replied. "Well thanks for whatever you did."

He held up his hands as if warding off her thanks. "I didn't do anything except fix the mess my father created," he argued.

She stared at him for a second before standing up and putting her arms around him.

"I love you," she said, before pulling him in for another kiss.

"Still just friends?" they heard from behind them.

Chloe and Lex broke apart, rather reluctantly, to find Lana and Clark both looking quite amused.

Lex turned back to Chloe and gave her a peck on the cheek. "Love you too," he said endearingly. "I'll see you later."

He pulled away from her, walking over to the grinning, on looking couple.

"You know I can ask you two the same question," he stated, enjoying the blush that formed on his friends faces. "I'll see you guys later."

Chloe chuckled and went back to her work, ignoring the embarrassed couple.

Well that's it. Short, I know. I tried to leave the end open. I really want to write a sequel to this. But it's going to be a lot darker, way more angsty than this. But I won't be doing that for a while. Not until some of my other stories are complete.
