Author's note: I've been doing original anime/manga fics a lot at the moment, so i decided to resume one of my actual FAN fics. However, for all those fanfics, I suffer a creativity block, so I decided to scrap 'em for the time being and start a whole new one. Also I decided to make it "Alternate Reality", something i usually don't do. So I shoved our beginning main guys (that is, Isaac, Garet, Jenna and Felix) in a rock band from Vale, and they are gonna get the ride of their lives. And that weird title? That's the band's name.
AMBER MIRAGE EXTREMITY
Prologue: Amber Mirage Xtremity
Isaac stood in front of his keyboard, fingers ready to run across the white and black keys. He tapped his foot to the intro, with Garet strumming his fingers on the guitar strings, and Felix whacking those drums with expert rhythm. Jenna was moving to the beat, and with the clash of the cymbals on Felix's drum kit, Jenna started to sing with hyperactivity. Isaac began to play with furore on his keyboard, while Garet unleashed the flamethrower built into his guitar. And crowd screamed and cheered. Boys howled for Jenna, while girls swooned at the sight of the three boys. They were a rock band. They were Amber Mirage Xtremity.
Chapter 1: To sell big.
"Garet, why the hell did you hafta use that flame throwing thing?" Jenna demanded backstage.
"Well, Jenna, I thought it was cool?" Garet said in a matter-of-fact way. "The crowd loved it!"
"It's dangerous!"
"It's fire! You're a Fire Adept, woman!" Garet and Jenna kept at this for ages. Isaac and Felix just looked away in embarrassment.
"If they find out that Jenna and Garet are just two pathetic teens, we're doomed..." Felix mumbled. Isaac nodded in agreement.
"Yeah, totally..." Isaac scratched his blond head. "But we can't help that. It's their nature."
"I swear! If you both don't shut up, I'll cork you! You both must made for each other, I mean, they say people who argue care for each other..."
"FELIX! I'LL KILL YOU!" Jenna and Garet shouted at the same time. Felix grinned.
"You both are so alike..." he muttered under stifled giggles. Isaac hid a smile. Suddenly, their manager, Kraden, burst in. Isaac waved.
"Hey, so, wassup?"
"Do you remember how their were some people from a big record company coming today to here you?" Kraden asked. The group nodded. "Well, they want to speak to you!" Jenna squealed excitedly.
"Do you think we got it?" she jumped up and down. Felix held her down.
"Be patient, you never know what's gonna happen. If they see you like this, they'll probably think we're too immature..."
"Come on then, dudes, let's see what the big guys gotta say, hey?" Garet headed to the door, waving at the band to hurry up. They followed, and went into one of the rooms, where the company members were waiting for them.
"Hi." Isaac said cheerfully. The men shuffled their papers around. "So which one of you the head guy?" The men continued to shuffle their papers around. Garet was getting impatient.
"Jeez...what's up with these guys...?" he whispered to Isaac, who shrugged. However, before he could answer, a spunky young man in black walked in. His dark shades covered his eyes, unseen because of the mirror lenses. To go with all this black was his dark brown hair. He stood, and observed. By now, Jenna's heart was beating like kingfisher wings.
"Hmm..." He looked at the boring, robotic company members, then at the band, who were surprised to see him. "You must be Amber Mirage Xtremity. I am 'Uriel', a member of the band 'Archangel Messiah'. I'm here in place of my father, head of the company 'Golden Sun' records." He offered his hand to shake. Jenna took his hand, her heart beating even harder.
"Omigod! Uriel! From Archangel Messiah! I just love your songs! I reckon the whole entire band is sooooo good looking! I'm like, one of your greatest fans!" She would have fainted if Felix did not pry her fingers from Uriel's hand.
"Sorry, Uriel, but my sister really loves Archangel Messiah." He looked around, then whispered to Uriel "In fact, I reckon your songs rock, too, so does those boys, so how about giving us autographs at the end?" Uriel laughed
"No prob, uh..."
"Felix, Amber Mirage Xtremity's drummer." Felix offered his hand to shake. Uriel took it with a grin. "And the blond guy there is Isaac, our keyboard player..."
"Hey, how's life?" Isaac greeted in his cool manner. Uriel nodded, impressed by his calm greeting.
"Cool."
"Excellent." Isaac replied, leaning back onto the wall. Felix introduced Uriel to Garet.
"That's Garet, our guitarist." They shook. "And my sister, Jenna, lead singer. You've already been acquainted..." Jenna was sitting on a chair, staring at Uriel passionately. He just smiled. Jenna swooned, half dazed at her luck of meeting one member of Archangel Messiah. Then her luck got bigger.
"Dude! Ya finished yet? I'm just running here to tell ya we can't find no parking space, man! It's lunch time, so the restaurant's packed!" The intruder looked at the people in the room, except Uriel, who was gawping at him. He grinned sheepishly.
"Well, that tells me you ain't finished..." He waved shyly, still grinning. "Hi, I'm sorry, I should have knocked...er...I'm Raphael?" The silver-haired young man said, trying to break the silence. Jenna screamed.
"WOW! FIRST URIEL, NOW RAPHAEL!" She ran towards Raphael. Isaac, Gaert and Felix leapt on her. She struggled.
"You ain't going anywhere, young woman!" Felx said between his teeth. Raphael raised his eyebrows.
"Uh...big fan?" he inquired Uriel.
"Oh yeah. Very big." Uriel said. Raphael kept his calm.
"That explains a lot." He decided to leave the room, amethyst purple eyes shining with mischief. "Well, then, Uriel, I'll just leave now..." he cleared his throat before muttering and coughing out "...with killer obsessed fan..."
"I heard that." Uriel added before Raphael left the room. Raphael called back.
"Ciao, dude! See ya later, ya?" Uriel sighed.
"That Raphael...very flighty person, youngest in the group...anyway, let's get down to business." he sat down. "So, what did you think of the band?" He asked the company members. No reply. Uriel turned to the door. "Okay, then...Phase Two...Shadow!" A black cloaked person stepped into the room. "What did you think of the band?" Uriel asked.
"Master Uriel, the band, Amber Mirage Xtremity, performed very well. They all have perfect skill, and seem to be very popular with the locals." Shadow answered calmly, never removing his hood.
"That's good...any tape or CD so I can hear a sample?" Uriel asked, interested. Shadow produced a video tape.
"A video of their performance." Shadow went to the television, and inserted the video into the VCR. He turned on the television. They all watched, concentrating on the performance. The band was getting excited.
"A solid performance..." Uriel proclaimed when the tape finished. "...but it lacks a little something...do you agree, Shadow?"
"I do." Shadow answered. Uriel nodded.
"It needs balance. Each of you are very good, but you need something to give it oomph...Jenna, you are a little bit too hyper for your songs, I think you should try to mellow it down, but that will weaken your true extent. I'm sorry, but we can't except you, at the time being. You are this close..." Uriel showed how close they were of getting in. Very close. "...but you need to make yourself even better. Get that balance. Then we'll talk of this matter again. Okay, meeting dismissed." The boring company members left in robotic unison. Uriel stared behind them, annoyed. He held the door open. "After you." he said politely, letting AMX out first. Jenna was a little disappointed that an Archangel member said she was too hyper, but one look at Uriel's handsome, sultry looks put that disappointment away into the back of her head. In fact, there were three handsome young men, including Raphael, all dressed in black, eating at a table in the restaurant, and Uriel's comments were immediately forgotten.
"Oi! Uriel! Over here!" The red haired one cried out, waving his arm at Uriel. Uriel looked at AMX, smiling.
"Wanna eat with us?" he asked. They were amazed. Eating out with...Archangel Messiah? They would have all screamed in delight, but fortunately, they had Isaac.
"Yeah, sure." Isaac answered calmly. They walked to the table. Raphael and the other two stood up politely.
"Ah, if it ain't Amber Mirage Xtremity! Are you joining us?" Raphael immediately dragged a couple more seats over, with the other two following suit. AMX, now seeing Raphael properly, he was tall, slender, and had a swift, smooth motion. His hair was messy and windswept, giving him a natural, stylish hair do, and a pair of sunglasses rested on the top of his forehead, pulling part of his fringe back. Raphael smiled. "Here, here, sit down. Waiter!"
"I'll introduce you to the other two members of Archangel Messiah. Michael..." Uriel introduced the red haired one to AMX. Like Raphael (and probably the rest of the band...), he was tall, lean, with blood red hair brushed roughly to make it more tidy. He had a punk look in his face and his red brown eyes, and gave them a smirk.
"Hey, AMX, howzit goin'?" Michael greeted, offering is hand. The entire band, at this point, were really excited and ecstatic, so they had to get the one that looked indifferent, and would never crack when he speaks. Isaac.
"Cool, man." Isaac shook the offered hand. Michael nodded, impressed by this act of coolness. Uriel introduced them to the final member of Archangel Messiah.
"Gabriel..." He was every inch the lead singer. His sapphire blue eyes sparkled with charm, his straight blue hair was short, apart from the small plait dangling at the back. He swished his long fringe, which seemed to waver like water.
"Pleasure to meet you all, Isaac, Garet, Felix and Jenna..." his smooth, fluid voice hit Jenna like a storm. She was head over heels in love. Raphael laughed.
"And that's why Gabriel is our lead singer..."
"Too right..." Michael replied.
"I hope she'll be alright..." Gabriel gave Jenna a shake. "Jenna, are you okay?"
"...me...fine..." came the dazed reply. Michael gave them her a look.
"And that's why any ad with Gabriel in it sell better than ones without..."
"Tell me about it..." Raphael replied. "That's also why the managers and cover designers always want Gabriel on the front covers of our CDs..."
"You two, shoosh up..." Uriel waved a hand at Raphael and Michael. They shrugged. Felix, Garet and Isaac sighed in hopelessness.
"God...why does Jenna have to do this...?" Felix moaned. Garet covered his face with his hands.
"...hell...she's embarrassing us..."
"...I would like today's special, thank you, as well as the peach ice tea...Felix, Garet, are you ordering anything?" Isaac broke into their thoughts. The waiter jotted down orders with his electronic note pad and pen.
"We'll have what Isaac's having." Felix said. Garet nodded in agreement. The waiter walked off. Michael laughed.
"Today's special, eh? Quadruple burger with double beef slices each level, extra cheese, heaps of lettuce, super splats of mayo, additional pickles and a piece of beetroot just to top it all off for the burger? Then you'll have the large potato wedges, and that slice of apple crumble...not to mention the large glass of peach ice tea that wasn't part of the today's special? My, my, I'm impressed." Raphael rattled his cutlery in agreement.
"Here, here! A lot of new, potential bands that we meet are sometimes scummy stingy eaters. 'Oh no, this'll make me fat...' God, they're so annoying..." Raphael shuddered. Gabriel nodded agreeingly.
"It's better to act natural, than to be superficial because of fame. Many are incredibly fake..." he said. Then he started to look thoughtful. "So, are you all Adepts? I heard all people from Vale are Adepts..." Isaac nodded.
"Yes, a majority of people from Vale are Adepts. Felix and I are Adepts of Earth, while Garet and Jenna are Adepts of Fire."
"Interesting...just Earth and Fire..." Uriel commented. "I'm also an Adept of Earth, and Michael an Adept of Fire. Gabriel, however, is an Adept of Water and Raphael an Adept of Air."
"Not to mention, our elements actually reflect our personalities! Man, I'm flightly like whatever, and pretty impatient 'cos of that...Michael can burst into fits of anger at anytime...Gabriel is bloody unpredictable...and Uriel's our voice of reason." Raphael added.
"You four are Adepts...?" Felix asked. Michael nodded.
"Yep, it's a real coincidence that we'll meet and form Archangel Messiah, with everything fitting nicely into our elements and personality and so on. It's a good coincidence...Balance and all...and luckly, our voices harmonise, giving one of the best..." Just then, a blue man and a blond women, with scummy faces, purposely "bumped" into Michael's head. They obviously did it on purpose, but their mistake was they didn't eavesdrop on Raphael, and that they picked Michael to be their victim. "Hey! What was that for?" He fumed. They smirked.
"It was an accident..." The blue man said. Michael grabbed him by the collar, lifting him above the ground.
"LAME EXCUSE!" Michael shouted, spit flying into the blue man's face (on purpose). The woman slapped Michael with her handbag. She tried to smack him again, but Gabriel grabbed her arm, eyes flashing with hatred.
"I don't like people who torment victims, when they themselves are the ones at fault." He threatened. She glared at him and struggled, without avail.
"And I don't like pretty boys!"
"Can't be changed." Raphael strolled over, throwing a steak knife up in the air, catching it, and throwing it again. "We're born naturally good looking. We understand that you're jealous..." He's trying to annoy them with arrogance! Isaac thought. Raphael continued. "But still...attitudes can be changed. We don't like yours, I don't think anyone else like people like you. Gotta change ya attitude, Fuse Dragon..."
"Fuse Dragon? Ain't that Saturos and Menardi that always try to bust our shows?" asked Garet to Isaac. Isaac nodded. Only Garet and he knew of Fuse Dragon's attempts to ruin their performances.
"This is also another reason why my father would not sell your records..." Uriel stood up calmly. "It is because your singing reflects your personality. It makes people feel uncomfortable, having to listen to personalities that reek worse than turds..." He looked at them indifferently.
"Hah! You only got the deal because of the boss of GS is your father!" spat Menardi.
"Maybe that is so...but popularity only comes when you truly love what you do...and if you are truly good at it." Uriel said. Fuse Dragon fumed at his calmness, and stomped out, throwing curses back at Archangel Messiah. Uriel shook his head in disappointment.
"It seems like we must go. I hope we meet again." He shook Isaac's hand, and the four sleek singers left. AMX were left in silence.
"Wow, do you think they favour us?" Jeena said. Garet's eyes glowed.
"Cool!"
"But..." Issac said " Don't forget what Uriel said...we hafta love and be good at music and stuff..."
"Oh well. Band practice! Let's go!" Felix whipped out his drumsticks out of nowhere.
"How did you do that?" Garet asked.
"S-e-c-r-e-t..."
AN: God...this ain't as interesting I wanted it to be...oh well...I'll make it better. Next Chap: Felix gets lost in a storm. However, this story will only continue if you think it should. That's when you whine at me.
