"Anya, it's just a cartoon."
"Bugs Bunny is a rabbit just like every other."
"Cartoons," Tara said sleepily, "are drawings and camera tricks."
"Don't try to invalidate my fears. Dr. Phil says that-"
Exhausted as she was, Tara giggled into her pillow.
"Forgive me, sweetie. But you know it can't hurt you."
"Granted, but he's so damn creepy, with that horrible laugh, those grotesquely distorted features..." Anya shivered.
"How about you come back to bed and forget about the horrible bunnies?"
"In a minute. I think Pinky and the Brain is on channel six."
"Just turn the volume down, then," Tara yawned.
"Killjoy," Anya pouted. "I don't see why you won't watch with me. You know, there's a lot to be learned from the Brain."
"Learned from the Brain? Honey, I don't really want to learn how to take over the world."
"Maybe you'd want to if you knew how."
"No, sweetie, I really don't think so. I'd rather sleep in on Saturdays."
Once the theme song ended and the first commercial began to drone, Anya bounded back into bed, bouncing a little as she settled in to watch cartoons.
"Please, honey, it's seven o'clock."
"Quite late by my schedule."
"Really, really early by mine."
Sighing, Anya burrowed under the covers and pulled Tara's arm around herself.
"There's a repeat on at eleven. I guess I can watch it then. But you owe me."
"Undoubtedly. How much do I owe?" Tara smiled and pulled Anya in close.
Velvety-soft kisses lightly covered her cheeks and she gently batted Anya away.
"Well, once you're well-rested, I thought we could catch up on all the sex we haven't been having since midterms started."
"X-rated, always X-rated with you..." Tara mumbled sleepily. "But I still love you."
"You know it. And I love you."
Zero response. Tara was already sound asleep, snoring lightly, leaving Anya with perfect opportunity to turn off the sound, turn on closed captioning, and lie back to enjoy a warm Saturday morning with her love in her arms.
