I have seen this place more times than necessary.

I have walked across the chalk-like surface.

I have come close to power…

….I have come close to his lips….

Her silence strikes me as funny.

My hair is getting disheveled and yet hers is staying still.

Her eyes are so blank while mine hold such sarcasm.

And I begin to wonder how many times she has been in this car, moving like this, feeling like this.

And, of course, my hands develop a mind of their own.

I pushed him away.

I begged for him to draw near.

I toy with him, I tease him, I tear him apart.

And I know the inside of him: how weak and how kind he can be.

Kindness never gets the girl.

Weaklings never gain power.

But with a wild animal at his back…..breathing on his slender neck…..

…..he might change his tune…

She has the power.

And I want the power.

Not for revolution, not for castles, not for the endless dreams of the heart.

Right now, I just want

What I want.

And she says nothing as I lower her

As our bodies touch, rose-bride to rose-bride.

But we are so much more than that.
