Evil Has A New Face

By Lady Fiend

Chapter 1: Fear Not Child

     “Now you will receive us!”

“We do not ask for your poor or your hungry,”

“We do not want your tired and sick!”

“It is your corrupt we claim!”

“It is your evil that will be sought by us!”

“With every breath, we shall hunt them down!”

“Each day we spill their blood ‘til it rains down from the skies!”

“Do not kill, do not rape, do not steal.  These are principles which every man of every faith can embrace!”

“These are not polite suggestions, these cores of behaviors and those of you that ignore them will pay the dearest cost!”

“There are varying degrees of evil, we urge you lesser forms of filth not to push the bounds and cross over.  Into true corruption, into our domain.”

“For if you do, one day you will look behind you and you will see we three.  And on that day you will reap it!”

“And we will send you to whatever God, you wish.”

Akasha woke up in a cold sweat.  She shuddered as the words kept replaying in her mind.  She was there that day in the courtroom when the “Saints”, as the media had been calling them, said that speech and then went on to kill Papa Joe Yakavetta.  She had been there to see him put in jail for she had thought he was the one who killed her father and boss of the Russian Mob in Boston, Yuri Petrova.  How wrong she was.  Those so-called “Saints” were the ones who took her father from her.  And now, she feared for her brother.  He was now the one in charge of the mob, and after hearing that speech, Akasha couldn’t help but be constantly worried for him.

Quickly she got up from her bed.  Her skin was damp with sweat.  Her deep blue eyes burned as the salty liquid dripped in them.  Her light brown hair was messy and out of place.  She didn’t look 15.  She looked old and tired with bags under her eyes.  It was only 3:30am.  Reluctantly, Akasha climbed back into her bed and stared up into the darkness of her room before her weariness finally took over and she fell asleep.

“Fuckin’ hell!” said Connor before letting out a loud sigh.  He, his fraternal twin Murphy, and their father had left America after they revealed themselves as the “Saints” and were now living back in Ireland.  He wrapped a towel around his waist before entering the living room.

“What is it now, Connor?” asked his mother cutting vegetables in the kitchen.

“Murph used up all the fuckin’ hot water as usual.” He replied

“Stop you’re fuckin’ complainin’ already,” came a voice.  Connor spun around to see his brother sitting on the sofa.

“How about you stop using up all the fuckin’ hot water,” he replied with a mocking tone.

Murphy’s reply, however, was a pillow smacking into the side of Connor’s face.

“You mother-“ was all Connor got out before another pillow hit him.  This time instead of talking he picked up both pillows and threw them at his brother before smacking him in the back of the head.  The horseplay continued until they heard they’re mother shouting for them to stop.

“You two break one fuckin’ thing and I’ll give you both a good one!”

“Aye, Mother,” replied the twins in union with smiles on their faces.

The smiles faded however when they saw their father walk into the house.  His face showed that he was in deep thought, but his eyes told so much more.  The boys knew something was wrong.

“Everything all right, Da?” asked Murphy.

“I got a call today from that fellow who helped us out all those months ago,” he said softly.

“Fellow?  You mean Smecker?” asked Connor.

“Aye.  That Russian mobster you two took out had a son and he’s in charge now.”

     “So?”

“So, he seems to be even worse then his father.  It was said that he order the killing of an entire man’s family just because he had ‘money issues’ with him, but they don’t have enough evidence to convict him.  He was released on bail yesterday,” replied their father still maintaining his serious, but soft tone.

“Holy shit,” was the only thing that came out of Connor’s mouth while Murphy was left speechless.  The two looked at each other as their blood begun to boil.  They understood each other and knew what had to be done.

Akasha was able to pull herself out of bed and get dressed before heading down stairs for breakfast.  Her mind was on a million different things at once until she heard the news blasting from the TV set.  Her brother, Leonid, was being accused of murder.  Akasha almost chocked on her food and looked over at her mother.

“((Russian: Does he want to end up like his father?  Is that it?  We should of never left Russia.))”

Akasha knew that her mother only spoke in Russian when she was upset.  She had been depressed ever since her father was killed.  Setting down her glass of orange juice, Akasha grabbed her book bag.  She went to a Catholic school in the area of Boston where she lived.  She found it funny that the school had even accepted to take her since her father was, as her grandmother put it, the “spawn of Satan”.  How wonderful it was to hear that at the age of 9.  Akasha shook her head before leaving.  She wasn’t going to school though.  She asked the driver of the limo she was in to take her to her brother’s house.  He did so, not wanting her to make a fuss like last time.  A smile crossed her lips as the driver parked the car.  She saw her brother talking on the phone and smoking a cigarette as if nothing had happened.  Quickly the young beauty exited the car and ran for her brother.

Leonid almost dropped the phone as his sister slammed into him.  He returned the hug and gave her a quick kiss on the forehead before speaking.

“((RUSSIAN: What’s the matter little one?  You should be at school.))”

“((RUSSIAN: Nothing’s wrong.  Just worried about you.  I saw the news this morning.  They’re calling you all sorts of things.))” replied Akasha trying her hardest to hide the fear that was scratching at her throat.

“You had another bad dream, runt?” asked Leonid, this time in English.

“((RUSSIAN: What does that have to do with anything?))  I’ve gotta go…I’m already late for school.” And with that, Akasha left, but there was a small seed of fear and worry that wouldn’t go away.  She felt that something bad was going to happen as she closed her eyes and fell asleep in the limo.

“And Shepards we shall be, for thee my lord for thee.  Power hath descended forth from thy hand so that our feet my swiftly carry out thy command.  And we shall flow a river forth onto thee and teeming with souls shall it ever be.  E Nomi Patri, Et Fili, E Spiritu Sancti.”

[LF Note:  Hey there fokes!!  Okay this is chapter one…so what do you all think?  Good?
