The Digidestined were speechless. All of them wished at some point or another that they could be in battle with their digimon partner, fighting with them instead of standing on the sidelines watching. For the first time ever, their wish would come true. The Digidestined of Japan were now Digimon, and they had never felt more like heroes than they did now.

"This is unbelievable!" TK said within his green thought bubble. "Patamon... are we Seraphimon?"

"I think we are!" the digimon replied in his Rookie form's voice.

Yolei closed her eyes, feeling the warmth and strength coursing through her. "Hawkmon! We're... we're the most perfecto digimon I've ever seen!" The gold haired Valkyrimon looked down at himself, admiring his new form.

Kari looked around at her pink thought bubble. Even though she was technically a quadruped dragon, she felt totally comfortable. "I'm... Magnadramon?"

"We're Magnadramon," the voice of Gatomon reminded her.

Little Cody felt as strong as Godzilla now that he was in the form of Vikemon. He felt Armadillomon's presence in the golden thought bubble around him. "Armadillomon! This is just incredible!"

"No kiddin' Cody. I feel like a million bucks!" the digimon said.

Davis was silent. He had always wondered what it would be like to be a digimon. Now he knew. "Veemon! Are you ready to kick some butt?!"

"You betcha!" Veemon replied.

Sakuyamon floated to the forefront and turned to face the other Mega digimon. "Now don't forget why you're doing this! If we're going to beat those two freaks ExMillenniumon and Pentamon, we’re all going to have to be at our strongest. And that means that you can't make any mistakes, or every imaginary world in existence is doomed."

Justimon nodded in agreement. "Everybody ready?" The others cheered in reply. "All right, then let's go!" The seven Mega digimon charged into the sky, although Vikemon had to be carried on Imperialdramon's back. Sakuyamon plowed through the weak point in the AT field surrounding the top of Infinity Mountain, and the other digimon followed with equal intensity.

The digimon looked up to see an incredible war being waged. There weren't just ExMillenniumon and Pentamon in here; an entire legion of digital warriors was battling in the air. One side seemed to be an army of mechanical angels with large swords and fearsome weaponry. The other half appeared to be devilish warriors clad in black leather with red highlights and covered in runic symbols that defied meaning.

Justimon eyed ExMillenniumon's warriors with his Mega form's built-in Digidex. "MechaAngemon. Ultimate level Data type. Special Attack, Angel Buster." He then looked at Pentamon's warriors. "WarDevimon. Ultimate level Virus type. Special Attack, Banshee Scream."

"So it's the seven of us versus the million of them?" Imperialdramon asked. "I think we're outnumbered..."

"There may be a lot of them, but their programming can't be very complex," Justimon said. "Otherwise so many of them wouldn't have been made so easily. It won't be hard to outsmart them."

Sakuyamon eyed the situation carefully. "...Okay. Here's the plan." She looked at Valkyrimon, Imperialdramon, and the Vikemon on his back. "You three will attack ExMillenniumon." She looked at Justimon, Magnadramon, and Seraphimon. "You three will attack Pentamon." Then she returned her attention to the battle above. "I'll try to disable the monsters before anyone gets hurt."

"How do you intend to disable them?" Vikemon asked.

"If Pentamon's a fusion of five humans, there must be a way to undo that," Valkyrimon said, calling on some of the fast-forwarded memories Rika gave the Digidestined. "As for ExMillenniumon, he's a little trickier. As long as Ryo is alive, he can't be killed. And he's mutated far beyond the limits of his other Millenniumon forms." Justimon said nothing.

"We'll find a way," Sakuyamon said. "Just worry about staying alive." Sakuyamon gripped her magical staff tightly and shot into the air. The others followed her in a V-formation. The final battle had begun.

A random WarDevimon saw the approaching digimon and shouted a purely digital cry. It was wordless, but all the WarDevimon understood it and looked in the direction. Pentamon ignored the newcomers and continued his one-on-one battle with ExMillenniumon.

The MechaAngemon noticed the newcomers as well. Almost at the same time, both sides decided to change their strategies and attack the bio-merged warriors. A swarm of Ultimate digimon flew down and engaged the Digidestined. Justimon was surprisingly ignored, so he moved on to face ExMillenniumon - contrary to Rika's directions.

Sakuyamon used her staff effectively and managed to knock away several enemies before they could lay a finger on her. Nearby, Valkyrimon was having similar successfulness with "his" physical assaults. Vikemon flew through the skies with Imperialdramon as his steed, smashing groups of WarDevimon and MechaAngemon with his massive hammer.

Cody looked over at Magnadramon and Seraphimon, who were staying close together as they fought their way through a sea of enemies. "Are you guys okay?"

Seraphimon smashed a digimon that was giving Magnadramon some trouble. "Yeah, we're fine. Just try to get to the big digimon!" Seraphimon smashed another enemy.

"You guys just try not to get killed!" Davis called out. Imperialdramon and Vikemon sailed towards ExMillenniumon, while Valkyrimon did the same after taking care of his pursuers.

Unbeknownst to the battling digimon, Penn was watching the scene through a floating data window. It was the same kind of window that the Digidestined used when they were battling Diaboromon in the Internet a few years back in this world's time. He was intent on making sure his composite digimon made it through this battle without dying. Otherwise, all of his planning would have been for naught.

Sakuyamon saw the window, and became angry when she saw who it was. "PENN!!" She shot out a blast of energy in the shape of a red fox head, which sailed towards the window. Penn's grinning face disappeared before the attack could connect. Even if it did connect, Sakuyamon doubted it would have caused any damage.

Sakuyamon looked around at all the enemy digimon, and decided that enough was enough. She held up her staff and began to chant. "With the power of my heart... my soul, I call upon the forces of light. I beg of thee... give me the strength to send my foes to the most distant plane. Hear my call!!" She twirled her staff above her head, and let it fly as she swung it before her twice. Two rings of pink energy flew from her like a wave of sound, and any enemy digimon it touched disintegrated into data. By the time the pink energy dispersed, all the WarDevimon and MechaAngemon were destroyed.

"All right!" Valkyrimon said. "Good job girl-friend!" That had to have been Yolei talking, Sakuyamon thought. The Mega digimon flew towards the two massive beasts that were their enemies. They got there just in time to see Justimon deliver his ultimatum to ExMillenniumon.

"Stop this!" Justimon shouted. "Or you'll be forced to destroy me!"

ExMillenniumon laughed. "Do you think you have a choice? As long as I live, you live. And as long as you live, I live. There is no way for either of us to be destroyed! Your threats are futile!"

Justimon growled. "He's right," Ryo said from within Justimon. "There is no way to defeat him. I can't trap something as powerful as him in a crystal like I did Millenniumon."

Pentamon roared, causing the AT field around them all to shake violently. "I guarantee that I will bring about your death, ExMillenniumon! Nothing can stop me from achieving victory. NOTHING!!" Pentamon unleashed an energy wave in the shape of a pentagram straight at Justimon, which sent the digimon flying painfully into the AT field. Ryo was alive just as ExMillenniumon had promised, but he wasn't going to be fighting for a while after taking a hit like that.

"Ryo!" Rika cried. Sakuyamon looked at Pentamon angrily and held up her hand. "SPIRIT STRIKE!!" A swarm of multi-colored fox heads flew through the air and unleashed the magical energies on Pentamon when they hit. They did absolutely nothing.

Imperialdramon and Vikemon flew through the air towards ExMillenniumon with Valkyrimon in quick pursuit. Vikemon prepared for his most devastating assault, as did the other two digimon. Meanwhile, Magnadramon and Seraphimon flew towards Pentamon with Sakuyamon right behind them.

"POSITRON LASER!!" shouted Imperialdramon. His powerful energy beam slammed into the center of ExMillenniumon's armor, causing it to crack.

"VIKING AXE!!" Vikemon cried. He swung his mighty weapon and slammed the same spot that Imperialdramon's attack hit. The crack opened wider.

Valkyrimon finished the assault by holding out his right arm and summoning a wicked-looking sword with runic symbols all over it. "FENRIR SWORD!!" Valkyrimon slashed the same spot that the previous two digimon hit, and that was enough to shatter the armor's center. At the same time, ExMillenniumon's defenses were weakened!

Nearby, the other three Megas were inflicting similar punishment on Pentamon. When it seemed that Pentamon would actually go down from the assault, he countered with an incredible attack of his own! "PENTAGRAM DESTROYER!!" The pentagram-shaped energy blast sailed through the air and slammed into Magnadramon, causing her to devolve immediately to Kari and Salamon!

"KARI!!" Seraphimon cried. The girl fell through the air and would have hit the ground had Imperialdramon and Vikemon not been there to catch her and Salamon. They flew the two to the top of Infinity Mountain where they would be somewhat safe.

Sakuyamon stared at Pentamon's five eyes with nothing but contempt. "Is that all you've got, beast?! Picking on a girl who doesn't like to fight?! Try picking on someone like me!!"

Pentamon laughed and unleashed his attack again. "Pentagram Destroyer!!" To his surprise, the attack didn't seem to affect Sakuyamon. In fact, she stopped it in mid-air by doing nothing more than lifting her hand!

TK gasped. "Whoa..."

Sakuyamon shattered the pentagram with the wave of her hand, and shot through the air to unleash her counterattack. She slammed her fist into the monster's gut, causing him to fly through the air like he was a rag-doll! Pentamon slammed into his AT field, but quickly recovered.

Justimon saw this from where he had landed, and was in awe. How did Sakuyamon get so strong? Is Rika... is she breaking the 4th wall? The "4th Wall" was a metaphysical term used by Authors when they were referring to someone who was ignoring the laws of reality in order to achieve their goals. Normally it was looked down upon, but it was also considered the Authors' trump card against mutations like these. But how could Rika be doing this? She wasn't an Author... and even Authors couldn't break the 4th wall if he or a friend didn’t create the world they were in. She was actually defying Penn's powers as an Author!

Sakuyamon continued to pummel Pentamon with all her might. In her mind, the best way to force Pentamon to separate into his composite forms was to weaken him to the point of fracture. Once he was dealt enough damage, the five males that Penn captured and used to create Pentamon would be freed. They would be unconscious and bruised, but they would be alive.

"Ex Destroyer!!" Sakuyamon was slammed by an attack from behind!! ExMillenniumon grabbed the slightly smaller Sakuyamon and held her from behind. Sakuyamon struggled, but she failed to escape. Pentamon snapped at her, but ExMillenniumon knocked him away with another Ex Destroyer attack.

"It seems that you aren't as strong as you think," the evil digi-god said.

Sakuyamon smirked. "That's why I have friends."

"SEVEN HEAVENS!!" shouted Seraphimon. Seven globes of different-colored light sailed through the air and connected with ExMillenniumon's back. His armor took much of the impact, but it distracted him enough to let Sakuyamon flip him with an old-fashioned Judo move that Rika knew. ExMillenniumon flew out of control, allowing Sakuyamon to follow up with a fearsome Spirit Strike that buried him and Pentamon in the dirt. The AT field started to fizzle as a result.

"All right!" cheered Imperialdramon. "We did it!"

"No..." said Justimon as he floated up to the others. "Still alive..."

As if on cue, a massive energy surge erupted from the spot where ExMillenniumon and Pentamon had landed. All the Digidestined and Tamers were flung across the skies by an incredibly strong vortex. They spiraled through space and time as digital stars raced by them at super-light speed. When it was all over, they were inside a deep, dark world with no light and no sound. It was a void.

"Wh...where are we?" asked Vikemon, who recovered first because he had the toughest defenses of the digimon there.

"I-I don't know," Valkyrimon said, looking around nervously. "I don't see anything here that I recognize. I don't see anything, period!"

Seraphimon had Kari and Salamon cupped in his hands. He had to catch them during the vortex incident so that they didn't get hurt along the way. "Keep your eyes open for anything suspicious. There's no telling what might happen."

Sakuyamon looked around. Her head hurt so much... she felt like her head was going to explode. Even though she could sense everything that existed in this world, she sensed exactly what this world had in it - absolutely nothing...

Sakuyamon looked up as a low moaning began. Suddenly, the entire void-world started to shake as an incredible force entered it. It was a force so dark and horrible that nothing seemed to compare. The Devil? Yang? Hades? They were cupcakes compared to this thing.

Then, it revealed itself. Sakuyamon analyzed it, only to find out that it was something worthy of this fear.

PentaMillenniumon stretched its massive arms and shifted its form so that its armor was ready for combat. It was now in Fighter Mode and ready to battle. Ironically, its voice was only a telepathic whisper. "You cannot defeat me. Give yourselves up, and we will absorb you into our collective consciousness. Your friends are waiting for you..."

Seraphimon's massive form trembled. "Tai..."

Justimon flew forward. "Never!! You'll have to kill us if you want us!" Justimon charged forward, confident in the fact that he and his friends were safe as long as he kept himself in Millenniumon's path, regardless of his form.

He was wrong.

"Ryo!!" Sakuyamon cried as the massive monster attacked Justimon with a basic energy wave. Justimon cried out in pain and fell through the air, only to land in Sakuyamon's arms.

Justimon cringed, and looked up. Even though they were currently digimon, they could see through the digital illusion and look into each other's face. "Rika... I... I'm sorry."

Rika was weeping now. She didn't know or care if Sakuyamon was doing the same thing. "For what...?"

"For not being of much help to you." Ryo smiled lightly. "And for calling you 'Pumpkin'." Rika could say nothing in reply, but she smiled back. Slowly, Ryo Akiyama closed his eyes, and went limp. Justimon was dead.

Sakuyamon stood up, her body trembling at seeing Justimon die in her arms. She looked up at PentaMillenniumon as the Digidestined prepared for their next assault. PentaMillenniumon laughed at the humor of seeing the Mega digimon die so easily, and proceeded to attack the Digidestined. Sakuyamon was spared, for she seemed to be paralyzed by Justimon's death, and would be easy prey.

Imperialdramon was crushed under the foot of PentaMillenniumon, who flung the remains of Davis and Veemon's fused form to the side. When Seraphimon tried to protect his friend, he was hit once and knocked out of his Mega form. Patamon fought desperately as TK ran over and embraced Kari one last time. They died together when PentaMillenniumon unleashed another energy attack.

Sakuyamon roared in unbridled anger, and launched herself at PentaMillenniumon without fear. The massive digimon turned in time to see Sakuyamon land a devastating punch in his side that destroyed the armor it contacted. The female digimon's fist was bleeding particles of data now, but she had inflicted damage on the monster before her.

PentaMillenniumon countered with a blow that would have flattened any other digimon. But Sakuyamon wasn't just any digimon; she was the digimon with Rika Nonaka inside her. She blocked his punch and countered with a kick that was strong enough to shatter the digimon's armored leg! The two monsters traded blows back and forth, each getting more and more ferocious with each passing second. Finally, the bloodied Sakuyamon was able to knock PentaMillenniumon down. The beast had to recover some of its data before it could get up again.

PentaMillenniumon shifted forms, becoming a giant spherical ball that floated above the void-world. "PentaMillenniumon, mode change to... Destroyer Mode!"

Everything went silent. The worlds were changed in the blink of an eye. Penn's ownership was taken away only after these effects came to the forefront. It was over.

Representative Janet Laker walked up to the podium and began her pre-written speech. "As you know, a few days ago there were reports from millions of viewers of a serious mistake in programming for FoxKids. Rather than showing that reruns for the successful children's show, Digimon Tamers, there was an episode showing heinous acts created through computer-generated forgery by a rival company. We at FoxKids apologize for this inconvenience and pray that no children were psychologically or mentally harmed in the resulting confusion." The woman put down her speech. "Now I will take questions." Hands went up everywhere. "Yes, you."

A male reporter stood up. "Is Melissa Fahn related to the forgery, or any of the other voice actors used for these characters?"

Janet shook her head. "No, the voice actress for Rika Nonaka was not involved, nor were any of the other actors. As I said, this was perpetrated by computer-generated forgery, which included modified voices that sounded like the real thing. Next question." She pointed at a female reporter.

"Is it true that many of the TV shows owned by Penn Sanders were seriously damaged in the ensuing chaos? What will this mean for the TV shows?"

"It is true that several anime shows, including Digimon and Pokémon among others, were seriously damaged by the unethical actions of Mr. Penn, whom we think was involved in the forgery incident as well. He was absent and could not be questioned after the companies he owned were bought by a third-party group called , who has since resold the anime rights to their original owners." Next question was started.

"When will the police capture Penn, and have they made any announcements as to what crimes he's committed?"

Janet remained silent for a moment. "It is likely that Mr. Penn will go unprosecuted, for there is no rule for editing animes if you have ownership of them. However, it is likely that he will be charged for breech of censorship for the display of that horrendous episode of digimon characters being slaughtered."

"Will the shows be shown as scheduled?" someone else asked.

"The Digimon shows and all the other shows previously owned by Mr. Penn are impossible to repair, but the courteous manga writers who own those animes have been nice enough to allow us to re-buy the shows for the purposes of showing the series and re-dubbing them properly. However, we've been told that due to technical difficulties, Digimon Tamers may not be able to appear on TV again."

There was another flurry of questions, but Janet indicated she had to go. "I'm sorry folks, but as they say in the story-telling business, that's the end." She walked off the stage, and nothing more was said.
