Summary: Story set in Series 12, Sally and Joe prepare for their wedding…

Gemma:

Ever since she was a child she always did picture her wedding day. Meeting her knight in shining armour, falling in love, the proposal, then getting married.

Her imaginary wedding was like a fairytale. A beautiful dress, flowers and her friends and loved ones gathering to see her marry the love of her life in sickness and in health.

"Derek!" Maggie yelled loudly from the bottom of the stairs in her house as she called up to him as he worked on his model railway in their spare room.

Derek appeared at the top of the stairs and looked down at Maggie, who was wearing an apron, which was covered in flour and margarine.

"Can you pop down to the supermarket please?" Maggie asked, "I've run out of ingredients," she informed him, holding up a list that she had already written. "This cake needs to be finished by tomorrow and I can't let Sally and Joe down."

Best man status had gone to Dan. Joe had to admit that they'd had their fair share of disagreements in the past, but he had Dan to thank that he actually did admit his true feelings for Sally.

"Thought of your speech yet Dan?" Joe asked as they cleaned BA sets.

"Oh yes," Dan smiled, "And no, you're not hearing it until the day."

Nat:

Sally was in the locker room. She had been floating on cloud nine, since the marriage had been confirmed. She was thinking about the day, walking down the isle (think thats how u spell it)

The big question came to her, whilst preparing the wedding, who should give her away! She didnt know her family and had no means of getting in touch, why should they share her happiness when they haven't been apart of her life for the last 10years. Rob was as another choice, and although he was her best mate, he was more of a brother than a father, after alot of talking with Joe and Rob, they decided that Coleman would give her away. After the shock had been allowed to set in, he agreed.

The big day was fast approaching!Everything was almost ready, stag and hen parties were planned. Sally was so involved with her imagination that she didn't hear her name being called several times.

Ayms:

She swung around to find Rob stood behind her trying to talk to her.

"What you thinking about?" He asked with a smile on his face "You're off in a dream world again"

"Sorry" She said simply

"No no don't get me wrong it's great that your happy and you can dream all you want" Rob said sincerely laying a hand gently on her arm.

"I just want it to be the way I've always planned" She told him

"It will be, trust me"

They didn't have long till the end of their shift so they were disappointed to hear the bells go down for a shout making the whole place suddenly come alive.

Rob and Sally looked at each other and rolled their eyes before joining the hustle.

They both slid down the firemans polls straight into the appliance bay where their colleagues were nearly ready for action. Joe came running out of the side office giving Sally a cheeky grin before jumping aboard the ALP.
Downstairs in the appliance bay

Gemma:

"Any clues on where the stag do will be?" Sicknote asked Joe from the back of the appliance as they made their way to the scene.

"Not a clue," Joe replied as he kept his eyes on the road, "Just hope Hyper ain't helping with any stripper arrangements or anything," he grinned.

Naomi:

Sicknote and Dan laughed in the back of the appliance. Coleman in the front seat, next to Joe, also smiled. He liked seeing two of his watch members so happy, even if one of them was soon to be transferred, and it seemed to be affecting the rest of the watch too.

---------

The shout was to an RTA on Harrow Road, a fairly busy street, in the Blackwall area. The watch arrived on the scene in minutes.

Gemma:

Flowers... friends and more importantly Joe, things were going to be just perfect, she knew it.

The appliances came to a halt in Harrow Road and Sally snapped out of her dream and quickly got to work.

The Watch all grouped around and Coleman gave them all tasks around certain areas of the accident site, before being approached by a uniformed police officer.

The crash had been pretty bad. A single decker bus had collided with a land rover, before plowing into the side of a council building.

Dan and Joe paired up and began to put foam down on the surrounding area of the vehicles as Hyper and Sally made their way to the casualties of the car, which was completely crushed.

"Witnesses say the car was swerving all over the place," the uniformed police officer explained to Coleman. "The bus wasn't in the wrong, the car was driving on the right - hand side of the road."

Naomi:

Coleman nodded, taking the information in, "Right. Ok. Can you make sure that the public are kept away from the crash scene?" Coleman nodded towards a crowd that was gathering to get a closer look. "We're not sure if there's any risk yet but we need space to work."

"Yeah, will do," the PC answered, before turing and making his way towards the crowd.

Coleman turned his attention back to the incident.

----------------

Hyper was checking on casualties in the land rover.

Sally had been inspecting the bus, trying to get inside. The bus had crashed into a building on the left hand-side of the road, meaning the door was crushed against the wall and inaccessible.

Sally was approached by George and Sicknote. "Need a hand?" George asked.

"Yeah, we've gonna have to smash a window..." Sally told them, pointing to the row of windows on the side of the bus, "...then we can climb in and take a look inside and get the people out."

George and Sicknote glanced along the side of the bus, seeing she was right and nodded.

"Right" Sicknote replied. "Let's get started then. Which window has least people near it?"

Ayms:

Some of the people inside the bus were moving around trying to get out so Sally tried to signal to them to stay calm and to move away from the window they were about to break through. They had selected one close to the front and made sure that the majority of the poeple were far enough away not to be at risk from any more injury.

George had gone off to get some equipment and when he returned the three of them together managed to break through the window and set up a ladder long enough for them to climb up the side into the bus. It wasn't on fire and didn't appear to be leaking fuel so the firefighters saw no real reason to equip themselves with BA gear as it would only be a quick job once they were inside. Sally was first in followed by Sicknote. George stayed on the ground holding on to the ladder whilst they inspected for casualties. Many poeple who were able to move freely vacated the bus pretty quickly with their help.

Mean while Foam was going down around the vehicles and paramedics were just arriving on the scene.

Gemma:

The ambulance sirens stopped as the two ambulances parked alongside the appliances and the paramedics made their way out of the ambulances.

Meanwhile, Sally had made her way through the majority of the bus and began to check if everyone was ok. A pregnant lady was sitting on the left side of the bus near the middle and Sally and Sicknote knew that it was going to be difficult getting her out.

Ayms:

One set of paramedics began checking over the two people in the landrover, just incase of anything they needed to be aware of. The other paramedics went straight over to the bus where there were more casualties. They began checking over the people who had already left the bus. Minutes later the over paramedics who had been checking the landrover occupants came over after handing them over to the police for some questions. Sally gave them an overview of those still left on board and their conditions.

Gemma:

The pregnant woman remained on the bus as two paramedics entered with certain medical equipment to make sure that the woman was actually ok to move after the crash as the Sally and Sicknote helped the other casualties off of the bus and walked them a reasonable distance away.

"She ok?" Sally asked a paramedic as she made her way back into the bus.

The paramedic nodded, "Blood pressure's a bit high, but that's understandable. We're taking her to the hospital to be on the safe side."

Sally nodded understandingly, "Need a hand?"
