Hey everyone. Yes I’m back =) do you realize how hard it is to write a sequel to And We’re Dancing when I received such amazing reviews. I feel very pressured heheh but here goes. Hope you like.
The song is “lost without you” by delta goodrem and I do not own anything LOTR related nor do I own the song.
I have fixed my mistakes and added some to the ending just incase you didn’t think it was sad enough it is now even sadder :: sniff sniff :: Thanks so much to Minnow in the cloud for all your amazing help. I hope the changes have worked. Thank you again.
Thank you so so much to my unbelievable and incredible reviewers who have made me so incredibly happy with their reviews.
So I believe a special thanks to each person is in order. I have posted the thanks at the bottom.
**Lost Without you**
The tension that hung in the air that particularly cold evening, could have, quite literally been cut with a knife, or a sword in Aragorn’s case, whom at that very moment had unsheathed his sword and was quite violently swinging it through the air. “Stupid, stupid” was all he kept muttering with each swing of the sword. How could he be so stupid? It was all his fault. All his fault. The scene played over in his head, and he watched as Legolas ran into the darkness of the forest outside of Rivendell’s gates, the hand that had caught his arm to stop him from running for Legolas and the sympathetic look on his fathers face.
Aragorn let the sword drop to his side and he began to run his hands through his hair in frustration. He had no idea how much his words had hurt legolas, and he couldn’t block out the look of bewilderment that had filled Legolas’ liquid blue eyes that were already filled with hurt.
**~I know I can be a little stubborn sometimes
A little righteous and too proud
I just want to find a way to compromise
Cos I believe that we can work things out~**
Legolas ran blindly through the thick foliage of Rivendell’s forest. Tears streamed endlessly down his porcelain skin as he furiously pushed them away running deeper and deeper into the trees and darkness, both beginning to close in around him.
His endless tears blinded him and he began to stumble on protruding roots and fallen branches. Suddenly he lost his footing, stumbling on a fallen tree limb and fell sprawled out on the forest floor, his tears not ceasing. He picked himself up and continued to run further forward into a looming darkness. Finding himself in a clearing he sat down wrapping his arms around his legs and began to rock back and forth, suddenly realizing how dark it was.
He brushed away the tears furiously, angry at himself for being so weak, angry at Aragorn for being so selfish and angry with himself for being careless to whom he gave his heart. He had really believed Aragorn that evening in Mirkwood when he had told him he loved him, when he had held him and told him that he was his for eternity. Stupid, very stupid. He never would have believed that this man, so strong, physically and emotionally, with such natural leadership and so much love would have hurt him so. He loved Estel so much it hurt and he found a wave a tears engulf him as he broke down sobbing uncontrollably.
That’s when the rain started.
**~I thought I had all the answers never giving in
But baby since you’ve gone I admit that I was wrong~**
Aragorn had long since retired into his room and he now sat at his window, its glass blurred from the rain that streamed down it. His thoughts had not strayed from the events that had unfolded earlier that evening but they had begun to dull as a new worry made itself know.
What if Legolas was out in the rain?
Oh how he wanted so much to run out there, calling legolas name, wanting to bring him home. But Elrond had stopped him, reminding Estel of how stubborn Legolas was when it came to his emotions. So it was all Aragorn could do to stop himself from running out into what was fast becoming a storm of incredible proportions.
A nagging in the back of his mind begun a debate in his head to whether he should go out there or not and he realized he would never forgive himself if something was to happen to his beloved. So with that one thought in mind he made his way around his room collecting necessary items before climbing out his window and into the thunderous rain the beat against the ground.
**~All I know is I’m lost without you I’m not gonna lie
How my gonna be strong without you I need you by my side
If we ever say we’ll never be together and we ended with goodbye don’t know what I’d do
I’m lost without you~**
It was just Legolas’ luck that the clearing was not covered by the trees thick foliage and he was quickly soaked to the bone by the rain that had come so quickly. But he did not care, nor did he move and just allowed the rain to fall on him mingling with the tears that ran down his face. As the freezing water fell on him soaking through his clothes and into his skin he looked up towards the sky and into the pitch black suddenly realizing how cold he had become. He had begun to shake and he tightened his grip on his legs trying to get warm but he failed miserably. He felt the darkness tugging at his mind and instead of trying to fight Legolas let it slowly engulf him.
**~I keep trying to find my way but all I know is im lost without you
I keep trying to face the day I’m lost without you~**
Aragorn ran into the clearing where the fading glow that constantly surrounded Legolas had caught his attention and he ran to the elf falling on his knees next to the archer.
“My god Legolas, what have I done to you”
He asked himself as he pushed a piece of golden hair from the elf’s pale face. Tugging at the clasp on his cloak Aragorn managed to get it lose and he pulled it from his shoulders wrapping it around Legolas, trying desperately to put some warmth back into his body watching as the elf’s lips began to change a shade of blue. Elves were ordinarily immune to cold and illness but Aragorn had an awful feeling that as a result of his ill spoken words earlier that evening and Legolas’ sorrow and tears his immunity was not there to repel the cold. He did not mean the words that had been spoken that evening, in fact he didn’t even know why they had been said and surely legolas knew this, but it was not so for had he ignored the offending words, the two would be in the warmth of their bed listening to the storm that raged around them, instead of being in it. Picking up the beautiful elf in his arms he carried him back to the waiting arms of Rivendell and the help of Lord Elrond.
**~How my ever gonna get rid of these blues
Baby im so lonely all the time
Everywhere I go I get so confused
You’re the only thing on my mind~**
Tears streamed down Estel’ face as he held the hand of his love. Weeks had passed and Elrond had failed in his attempts to revive Legolas from his deep slumber. All Estel could do was wait. And hope. Only one question was on his mind, his tongue, his lips. Why?
It was not fair, elves were immortal. Legolas was supposed to live forever and Estel would have been there by his side, to hold him and tell him that everything would be alright. He was not supposed to be sitting here, watching as his love died slowly, watching as the hands of death slowly claimed this beautiful elf. Estel allowed his head to drop on the bed as the tears consumed him. The sound of a soft, melodic voice made him lift his head, hope visible in his eyes. Legolas looked at Estel so much pain, hurt, sorrow filling his liquid blue eyes that had begun to water.
**~Oh my bed’s so cold at night and I miss you more each day
Only you can make it right no im not too proud to say~
~All I know is im lost without you I’m not gonna lie
How my gonna be strong without you I need you by my side
If we ever say we’ll never be together and we ended with goodbye don’t know what I’d do
I’m lost without you~**
“I am so sorry Legolas, those words meant nothing”
Legolas looked sad and he turned his head
“Then why were they said Estel? Why were they said?”
Aragorn looked quite uncomfortable and Legolas sensed this and he turned his head back.
“I don’t think you truly understand how much I loved you, still love you. I would have done anything for you dearest Estel. I promise I will love you for all of time, you mean so much to me, but I will not be truly happy until I hear you say it Estel. I need to hear you say you love me” Legolas said softly, stray tears making their way down his face.
Aragorn hesitated and he watched as Legolas looked at him sadly as a stray tear made a path down the pale skin of the elf. It was not that Aragorn did not wish to say the words, in fact that was all he wished to say, and although he did not know why, he could not bring himself to say the words. So many things stopped him and Legolas saw the look that dulled the glisten in the ranger’s eyes. Legolas felt his heartbreak and he closed his eyes taking a deep breath. His last breath. Aragorn felt the elven hand go limp in his. The tears began to stream down the King of Men’s face and he buried his head in the sheets that lay folded beside the elven prince. He stayed like that for rest if the day and it was not until dusk when the blues, purples and the pinks hung in the air and wove their magical colors amongst the two that Aragorn picked himself up off the bed. He lent forward sweeping the golden hair from the deathly pale face, and leaning over he kissed the elven prince’ forehead before whispering to him
“I love you Legolas”
**~I keep trying to find my way but all I know is im lost without you
I keep trying to face the day im lost without you~
~If I could only hold you now and make the pain just go away
Can’t stop the tears from running down my face~**
“I love you”
*The End*
~All I know is im lost without you I’m not gonna lie
How my gonna be strong without you I need you by my side
If we ever say we’ll never be together and we ended with goodbye don’t know what I’d do
I’m lost without you
I keep trying to find my way but all I know is im lost without you
I keep trying to face the day I’m lost without you~
