BakuraNoYami: Okay, I had some weird ones, but none compare to this. It's even in a new anime. The title leaves some imagination, though. You can guess either Superman or the Incredible Hunk.
Tyson: Hunk? Hunk of what??
Max: Green cheese!
BakuraNoYami: That explains the smell. Kai, the disclaimer.
Kai: He owns nothing but himself. And I'm pretty sure there's a copyright on that, too.
BakuraNoYami: Wha??
Kai: There's a © on your neck.
BakuraNoYami: It's engraved into my neck.
Tyson: Ow..that's gotta hurt..
BakuraNoYami: It hurt more when it was fresh.
Kenny: Um, R&R, please!!
Chapter I: Successful Experiment or Experimental Disaster?
A boy lay limp on a metal operating table, his grey bangs hanging limp over his face like him on the table. His arm twitched and his dark brown eyes began to open. The white scarf hanging over the side of the table started to blow in the wind of an open window.
A dignified old man and a more nervous-looking one with wire-framed glasses entered the room as the boy slowly began to wake up completely.
"Are you sure, sir? It might--" The younger man started, but the other silenced him with a wave of his hand.
"I don't care about the consequences, William, this is the best subject we've got. He will survive." The old man turned on a light above the boy, temporarily blinding him.
"But, Voltaire, sir! This is your own grandson! You're willing to risk his life for an experiment?!" William's voice had grown angered and disbelieving, but Voltaire replied in a calm voice: "That is correct," and walked over to a small table beside the boy, and then returned with a small but long needle. Florescent green light was radiating from it, its bright glare making the boy squint his eyes and put one arm between him and the light.
Voltaire pulled the boy's shielding arm from in front of his face and smiled like a rattlesnake.
"Don't worry, Kai. This won't hurt a bit.." He said, plunging the needle deep into his arm.
A cry of pain rang out in the laboratory. William squinted his eyes and clenched his teeth. "Oh, I knew he shouldn't have done it..I just knew it.." he said, repeating it over and over, in a sort of voice as the White Rabbit from Alice in Wonderland.
"Much, at least." Voltaire, despite himself, started to laugh as Kai grabbed his arm and doubled over. He started to twist around, curling and uncurling, howling in pain.
"The experiment is successful!" Cried Voltaire, as Kai continued to howl in pain and twisting himself, trying to get rid of the pain. Suddenly, Kai stopped twisting and just lay there, limp as before.
Voltaire blinked. William looked up at Kai, then snorted.
"That doesn't look too successful to me."
"Shut up. It just..takes a while to push itself into his bloodstream, that's all." Voltaire said quickly, looking up at the ceiling and crossing his arms.
"You have that look again, sir." William retorted, then turned his attention to Kai. "And I guess he's another failure, too...ah, well, too bad." He started to pull Kai off the table.
Voltaire made a sound like a enraged eagle with a tiger after its tail's been stepped on, then was about to pounce on William. But what stopped them both was the signs of life given by the limp form of Kai.
"Maybe, just maybe," William started excitedly, watching Kai slowly get up, "He's not a failure after all."
Kai staggered up onto his feet, using the table as a prop. He slowly turned his head toward to the two men in the same way Chuckie does, his dark brown eyes a shade of scarlet and gold, staring coldly at Voltaire and William.
"Maybe," Voltaire gulped, "He is.."
Kai pointed directly at Voltaire with the arm he'd injected the concoction into. "You.." His eyes flashed death. "You did this to me.."
"Nice..um..thingy, nice thingy.." William stammered, scooting back under their chosen shelter --Voltaire's desk-- and putting his arms over his head. Then got promptly whacked by Voltaire.
"Great going, fool." He gestured his head at Kai. Kai's eyes had a permanent flash of death at the both of them, his face contorted into an angry tiger's.
"Well, it was either that or call him "monster" or "beast"." William said, then realized it and put one hand over his mouth.
Kai snarled and put his hand down, then charged straight at them.
(A/N: Long chappy short, total destruction and mayhem on the lab.)
Kai looked behind him at the ruins of the lab, then gave a sound like a tormented eagle and shattered the window and leaped out. He rolled and then stood again, giving one last glare at the lab before taking off.
In the lab, Voltaire's splintered desk shuffled a little and the two men's heads popped up. William blinked and looked at Voltaire.
"We're..alive?" He asked, looking himself over. Then he froze. "What exactly did you inject into him?"
"The Enhancement Fluid, of course.." Voltaire trailed off. "Oh, no! The enhanced strength, the increased speed--not to mention a high endurance and burning rage.." He looked at William. "We've created a monster!"
"Not we! You! You did it!" William started chattering in the same White Rabbit tone. "You said for us to go on with it! You poked him! You created this monster, not us--"He got cut off by a piece of Voltaire's desk breaking onto his head.
Voltaire sighed. "Thank God for fragile equipment.."He, too, was hit with a piece of the desk as the lab erupted into flames.
About three miles off, Kai stopped running at a large oak tree, crying and shrieking in anger at the same time. He stopped shrieking but let the tears flow. He looked at the big bonfire that was a lab, resting himself on the tree's base.
"Why? Why did you do this to me..?" He cried himself to sleep.
BakuraNoYami: Well, that's all folks!
Kai: ZZZzzzZZZzzzZZZzzzZZZzzz...
Tyson: How cute..*takes no-flash picture*
Kenny: That's all for now, please R&R!!
