Author's Notes- I decided to do something different-write a collection of song fics, each one set to a different song from the same album. Each story is completely seperate from the next, none of them coincide. In fact, I use a variety of pairings and ratings throughout the series. There's everything from Harry/Hermione to Harry/Draco to Ginny/Sirius and everything in between. One of the few pairings that I don't have in here is Ron/Hermione, 'cause I just can't bring myself to write it. Sorry. Anyway, this just one of the stories in the series. I hope you enjoy it and choose to read the others.

Summery- She was the best thing that ever happened to him and as he held her in his arms, he had never felt more at peace.

Harry held her in his arms, soothing her gently.

"It'll be okay, 'Mione." He promised, holding her tight.

He hoped that his words were true. But he wasn't sure how they could be. There had been so many losses since the war began.

This was just another one.

Still, he swore that he would never, ever let anyone hurt Hermione. Not while he lived.

She looked at him with big eyes which shined with trust and love.

"I know." She whispered. "As long as you're here, how can they be anything else?"

Harry just smiled and held her tighter.

"Close your eyes now." He whispered. "Try to get some sleep."

Harry buried his head in Hermione's hair.

God, how he loved her.

He hoped that she knew that, he showed it as well as he could.

Oh, he said the words, but he knew that actions spoke louder and didn't want Hermione to ever doubt how he felt about her.

She was his world. His best friend, his lover, his reason for living. She loved him the way no one else ever had and he just hoped that he returned the favour.

When, Harry felt like giving up hope, Hermione kept him strong. She kept him going every day.

And now, as he held her in his arms, he felt at peace.

He always slept best when he was with her. She relaxed him in a way no one else could.

When he was with her, his worries went away and all he was left with her the happy thoughts. He felt as if nothing could ever go wrong when he was with her.

As long as he had her love, there wasn't anything else in the world that he needed.

"Harry?" Hermione whispered, stirring slightly.

"I'm here." He assured her.

She smiled sleepily and drifted off again.

He smiled down at her.

"I love you 'Mione." He whispered, thinking for the millionth time how lucky he was to have her. She had taught him so much and given him even more.

As Harry drifted off to sleep, his arms wrapped tightly around the woman he loved, his thoughts were full of her.

One thing was certain, Hermione Granger was the best thing that ever happened to him.

She was his life and his love. His everything.

Without her, he would be nothing.
