This is a Shakespearean sonnet inspired by another RK sonnet of a fellow fanfiction writer quite some time ago. However, I failed to post this work earlier as I am unable to complete my registration into till now. Criticism is welcomed.

Price of Revolution

Such crimson blood that rains on burning fields;
the price of revolution, red and raw.
The clash of thirsty blades by soldiers wield
bespoke the time of blind and bloody law.

So one boy rose, with hope and dreams to ease
a cruel reign he felt that broke the land.
He yearned so true to help and gain that peace:
a freedom led by uncorrupted hand.

For children's children's sake, not glory's name,
the old regime his mighty sword to slay -
a faceless legend toiling through death's game,
to call an age where innocents could play.

Yet said he this when war was won and stilled,
"Atone must I the blood my hands that spilled."

Disclaimer:
The creation of Rurouni Kenshin belongs to Nobuhiro Watsuki.
