Also, the challenge was written by Severitus and she was kind enough to let people write stories off of this challenge and I do not make any money off of the use of this challenge.

Chapter 25: Out of the Dark

Kelsey was lying on her back. She, Severus and Jamison were staying at Hogwarts for Christmas. Severus knew that Voldemort would want to have his family visit for Christmas, but he wasn't sure how Kelsey would handle it. That was what Kelsey was thinking about right now. She really needed to think about if she wanted them to go, /do we really have a choice. I don't think we do. Voldemort never gives choices, not really/. Kelsey rubbed her swollen abdomen. She was five months pregnant and really confused. Not only did something seem off to her, but she was also trying to figure out the motive behind Voldemort's workings. She had never told Severus before, but she had been a fully trained Auror. The word being had been. When she ran away and went into hiding she had given it up.

Kelsey turned her head towards the door of the living room and saw Severus walk in, utterly exhausted. She sat up somewhat awkwardly, "Severus, what's wrong?"

Severus looked at her, "Kelsey, shouldn't you be asleep?"

Kelsey nodded and patted the spot next to her on the couch, "yes, but I couldn't sleep. I was thinking about the whole Voldemort Christmas Party. I have a feeling we can't decline the offer."

Severus sat down, "I knew we couldn't, but I couldn't tell you and Jamison that."

Kelsey kissed Severus' cheek, "Severus, you can tell me anything. Jamison is likely to freak out, but don't worry about it."

Severus sighed, "It is my job to worry. I have more than just you to worry about." He placed one of his hands on her stomach."

Kelsey placed hers over his, "don't worry about them just yet."

Severus smiled, "I can't help it."

Kelsey kissed Severus' lips and looked into his black eyes, "well, quit it. You'll kill yourself at this rate." She then stood up rather slowly and walked off to their room leaving Severus to think.

Severus ran his hand through his hair, "I get the feeling that something is off. Like I'm not really here. It if real, I know it, but something is just off."

Gryffindor Boy's Dormitory

Jamison sat in his bed reading a book though he hadn't turned the page for the last two hours, /I wonder, what could that feeling be? There is just something off. I feel as if this isn't real. That I'm not real/. He sighed and closed his book, figuring it was a lost caused to try and read. He placed the book on his bedside table and decided to go to sleep.

Though, his body didn't want to sleep, all he ended up doing was thinking. No matter how much he tried, listening to the snores of Neville, he couldn't help but think about Ron, /what is wrong with him? I know he can be a prat, but this is worse than usual. There is something wrong, because, he usually isn't this bad/.

Gryffindor Girl's Dormitory

Hermione Granger was lying awake staring at the ceiling. She was having difficulty sleeping. She had left Jamison alone just like he asked, but she still wanted to talk to him. He was Harry and she wanted to know why he had kept it a secret. In fact, she wanted to know why he was still keeping it a secret. There was just something wrong with this picture. The real Harry she knew was nothing like the one that had been there before disappearing and then the one that was who she had known had changed so much that she could barely recognize him.

She closed her eyes and watched the colors dance in front of her eyes. She had to know what was going on, seeing as how she was having a difficult time taking all of it. Without Harry around Ron didn't talk to her and it hurt. She loved him, yet all he could think about was himself. It was as if Harry was the glue that held the group together. It hurt her a lot to think of it that way, but she didn't have a choice.

Severus' chambers

Severus was pacing back and forth trying to figure out what to do. He didn't really know what to do. He wanted to run, but he also wanted to figure out what the feeling was. Of late he felt as if something was wrong with everything around him. It was as if he wasn't really here, but somewhere else. He didn't want to admit it, but if felt like a dream to him.

Severus placed his hands on the mantel, /no matter what I do I seem to be floating. What is going on? I need to know. I really do/. Severus turns around and heads into the bedroom where he sees Kelsey already asleep. He didn't want to disturb her, but he knew he would once he got into bed. So being as careful as he could he got into bed, of course she turned over and looked at him. Severus looked away, "sorry, I didn't mean to wake you up."

Kelsey shook her head, "don't worry about it, Severus, I wasn't really asleep anyways. Like I said earlier, I can't sleep."

Severus wraps his arm around her the best he can, "you know, I've always wondered why you left, other than the fact that I was a Death Eater." Severus mentally slaps himself, /I'm not a Death Eater, I've never been. Wait, yes I was, what is going on/? By this point Severus had really confused himself.

Kelsey puts one of her hands on Severus' cheek, "Sev, what are you thinking about?"

Severus sighed, "I don't know, I'm really confused. I don't know what's wrong; all I know is that I can't really explain it."

Kelsey smiled, "why don't you try?"

Severus took a deep breath, "well, it feels like I'm in a dream, almost."

Kelsey raised an eyebrow, "I've never felt like that."

Severus shrugged slightly, "neither have I, that's why I'm so confused. I know I was a Death Eater, but I keep feeling like I wasn't."

Kelsey blinked, "maybe, I don't know much about this sort of stuff; we know I was never into Divinations, but maybe this could be a dream."

Severus shook his head, "I don't want to think about it that way."

Kelsey smiled, "you never know what the real world is like, for all you know it could be years later or years earlier. The real world isn't always the dream one."

Severus sighed, "I know that, but I still don't want to think about it."

Kelsey yawned and closed her eyes, "don't worry about it Love. You will find out the truth, eventually." With that she fell asleep.

Severus turned over and closed his eyes, /I hope she's wrong. Please don't let this be a dream/. Severus then fell asleep.

Severus jumped up in bed breathing hard. Kelsey sat up and looked a him with her dark blue eyes, "Sev, what's wrong?"

Severus looked at her, "oh god, please tell me that was a dream?"

Kelsey raised an eyebrow, "what was a dream?"

Severus leaned back into the black oak backboard of the bed, "I don't know. I dreamt about the night you told me about Jamison and all that. Only I was a Death Eater and you ran away. You disappeared for 15 years and reappeared. Though, by that time Jamison was known as Harry Potter, the boy who saved the Wizarding world from Voldemort." He continued to tell her and she continued to listen.

When she finished she spoke up, "Severus, don't worry. None of that happened it is 1981. None of that happened. Jamison is sleeping in his crib not making a sound. Lily and James have beautiful daughter named Adora Harmony. Remus and Sirius live together. I never lost my eyesight and most importantly you never became a Death Eater and I didn't leave you."

Severus looked at her, "Which I'm glad for. That was the worst dream I had."

Kelsey chuckled, "well, you could have had worse. You know, you'll be ok, right?"

Severus wrapped his arms around Kelsey, "as long as you promise me one thing."

Kelsey leaned into his chest, "and what is that?"

Severus kissed her forehead, "be careful out there on the field. Don't get hurt."

Kelsey smiled, "now, you know I can't promise that I won't get hurt, but I'll promise to be careful. I'm an Auror and I have to keep people safe."

Severus closed his eyes, "I do wish one part of my dream came true."

Kelsey blinked, "oh, and what was that?"

Severus looked at her, "that Voldemort was really defeated. It would save a lot of trouble."

Kelsey frowned, "and set me at a desk job."

Severus hugged her closer, "well, you would be safe."

Kelsey laid her head into his chest, "if not extremely bored."

Severus smiled, "what is so wrong with that?"

Kelsey shook her head, "you love Potions and a desk job there wouldn't hurt you."

Severus smiled, "well, I am going to start working at Hogwarts soon."

Kelsey nodded, "I know."

Severus frowned, "you could always come visit."

Kelsey smiled, "I know that, too, but, there is something I need to tell you."

Severus raised an inquiring eyebrow, "and that is?"

Kelsey turned and looked at him, "I'm being stationed at Hogwarts."

Severus' eyes widened, "you are, really?"

Kelsey nodded, "yes, really."

Severus hugged her and kissed her on the lips, "this is even better than any dream."
