Infiny: This is a very, very, very AU fic, takes place during war. Bakura and Ryou are brothers like Yami and Yugi. Bakura and Ryou are American, Ryou and his father live in Maryland, Yami and Yugi are Japanese and Yugi and his grandpa live in Domino, Yami and Bakura are in the war. Oh, and Bakura first name is Kris (it's not short for anything, it's the name of a knife/sword.) And thanks to Borath and hotarugirl88 I have actually decided to post this story ^_^

It was about 1:00 in the morning, Ryou Bakura was sitting in the living room of his father's house in Baltimore, Maryland. He was watching the news with his eyes glued to the TV, and he occasionally sipped a cup of tea. His older brother, Kris, was in the war. In the past weeks Ryou had barely gotten any sleep, he watched the news bulletins to make sure nothing bad had happened to his brother.

Ryou set the cup of tea back on the table and leaned again the back of the couch. His eyelids slowly drifted shut and he fell into a deep dreamless slumber.

The white haired teenager awoke about 30 minutes later, just in time for an interview with a soldier. His interest grew, the soldier's name Alan K. Baccri. He was a member of Kris' unit that Ryou read about in a letter from his brother. Kris and Alan were good friends…

"2nd Commander Bakura saved our lives…" Ryou heard the soldier say, he nearly dropped his teacup that he had just picked up, could his brother be dead? "He practically ran straight into the enemy. He was firing like crazy, I think he managed to take out half of the men that ambushed us," Alan told the reporter.

Ryou's eyes were wide and the reporter on television asked the question he wanted to voice: "What happened to Kris Bakura? Did he die?"

"I don't know, I think he was shot, though. As I did as he ordered our unit to, which was to get to our pick up point, I heard the drop of a gun. And I still heard shouts of our 2nd commander, so he might be a P.O.W…" Alan paused before saying, "Bakura has a little brother, too… and if you are watching this, if your brother is still alive, we WILL get him out of there…"

Ryou had a bit of hope that he would get to see his brother again, but one part of that sentence was bothering him… 'IF he was still alive'.

Ryou frowned.
