The leaves drifted like lonely snowflakes, briefly landing on something only to have the wind sweep them up in a whirlwind and deposited somewhere else. The leaves only landed on each other, but never touched in their frenzied dance across the parking lot. A petit teenager stood in the middle of the wind's path, leaves colliding with his leg and sticking to the black pants. Soft violet eyes looked off into the distance, focusing on something only he could see. Other's could hear the object of his focus.
"Konnichi wa, Kyou-kun!" The chirpy voice of Honda Tohru. Everyday she walked to her part time job with Souma Kyou, Yuki's cousin. The bubbly girl didn't realize what her actions meant, but everyone else did. The Prince Yuki Fan Club members murmured to each other that they expected it, they expected Tohru to break 'their' prince's heart. The boy's buzzed that Tohru was really empty-headed and the girls thought she was cruel and stupid to throw Yuki's affections away. But only a select few saw it for what it was, it was just Tohru. She didn't see it that way, she only saw it as an opportunity to walk with Kyou, her boyfriend. Yuki had told her with wounded eyes that he didn't mind, but Yuki himself was watched carefully.
"Ah, watch out, Baka!" Kyou's more 'crued' voice cut in, obviously Tohru had tripped or something. Yuki could imagine the whole scene as he paused on his way home. If he waited long enough, Kyou and Tohru would walk by. The 'prince' mentally scolded himself, he should've seen it coming. Tohru made her choice between them when Kyou's true form was revealed.
"Yuki..." a soft voice whispered. Hatsuharu stood behind him, grey eyes full of concern. Yuki brushed the Ox off, as usual.
"I'm going home, Haru," the rat said, starting to walk.
"Yuki," Haru said again, catching the older boy's arm.
"Leave me alone Haru!" Yuki snapped. Haru let go, hurt visible in his eyes.
"Yuki... I still l--"
"I'm leaving," Yuki said shortly, walking quickly away. For some reason, Haru's contact was like uncomfortable lightning bolts zigging up and down his arms. And Haru was his -cousin- and a -male-, a combination of incest and homosexuality, neither was appealing to Yuki. He hurried home, feeling a little guilty, Haru was the sweetest person alive, patient, calm, caring, and he just left the ox standing there in the middle of the parking lot. But Yuki couldn't deal with Tohru, Kyou and Haru at the same time.
"Yuki, I still care..." Haru said to the empty air, before kicking at the ground viciously. Black Haru had emerged, and headed off in the opposite direction of Yuki, towards where Kyou and Tohru went.
hee... review please.
Ya know... Haru means spring...
so this was going to be Suishi Haru, drowning spring...
but... I like autumn better!
