Eeek I'm writing a romance *falls over* and its not Yaoi! *omg*. Sorry no Zero and X action in this fic *sighs* And only slightly angsty *!* Who believes it? I barely do but this is what outside influence can do to you. A good idea for a fic is a good idea for a fic. I'm not very well versed in the romance area so be gentle k?

Disclaimer: I don't own anything from Megaman X or Tekkaman Blade. I don't even own the entire plot as a friend helped me develop some of the parts ^- ^.

Author Note: Most people don't know about the series so I will explain now. Shara (aka the "reploid") is not an original character in anyway shape or form. Actually I know several people who think that is my real name ^_^;. I never told them such lies. She is my favorite female character from my favorite anime. Tekkaman Blade. (Tekkaman Blade 2 is a bit more popular). This story is taken from where she self-destructs to save her brother Blade from his twin. If you really want to know more about Tekkaman Blade email me or look it up on the net. She seemed like a good match ^-^

Zero was running as fast as he could. If he had had a heart it would have been pounding in his chest. As it was his systems were in overdrive. The explosion he had heard just ahead was near the area X's unit had been fighting in. He knew something had gone horribly wrong. He stopped and looked around. The site couldn't be to far away. He couldn't see anything reploid or likewise. Closing his eyes to gather his thoughts he slowly took a few steps forward.

His foot hit something hard and metal. He squeezed his eyes shut tighter. He knew it was X and he didn't want to see the state his friend was in. He raise his head high and opened his eyes, preparing for the sight before him. When he looked down though, X was not what he saw.

It was a strange reploid. Female, if the body structure was anything to go by. She had hair about like his only shorter by about a foot and lighter. She was badly mangled and needed repair badly.

Zero bent down. "Can you hear me? If you can I'm not going hurt you. I'm just going to pick you up and take you to be repaired."

The reploid was unresponsive so he slipped his hands under and lifted her. She was light and easy for the Crimson Hunter to handle. Without a thought of X or the battle he was in - or the fact that the reploid he held could be a Maverick - he teleported with her back to Maverick Hunter HQ.

He arrived in the lab holding his charge. Laying the slim figure on a table he ran and called for Lifesaver. Lifesaver came quickly followed by X.

"What's wrong Zero? How did you get back?" said X while Lifesaver started to look him over.

"I'm fine you baka bot. She's the one who needs help," Said Zero, pointing Lifesaver over to the figure on the table.

"I thought you and your troops had pulled out right after mine did. When they got back you weren't there. I was about to go out looking for you when you showed up here," said X

"I've never seen anything like this reploid before. I don't know if I can repair it. The data is so strange" said Lifesaver.

"Do SOMETHING!" Zero yelled at Lifesaver.

"Who is it?" said X looking at Zero.

"I don't know. I found her and she looked like she needed help. I couldn't just leave her there." Zero's eyes softened a bit when he looked at the reploid.

The figure on the table shifted a bit. Then a flickering light emanated from it. The armor vanished, and lying flat on the table was a very bruised, broken, but also very naked human girl. Lifesaver looked at her again a moment.

"Uh. Um..." Lifesaver stuttered as X moved to cover the girl with a large piece of cloth.

"I think I'd better go get doctor Cain," said X as he left the room.

Zero sat and started at the girl. Her face, still uncovered, was beautiful in Zero's eyes despite the bruises and scratches upon her pale flesh. He reached out to brush some of the hair from her eyes but was quickly ran out of the lab by Lifesaver.

Zero sighed. He didn't have the energy or will to fight with Lifesaver at the moment so he decided to get some rest and see how the girl was in the morning. She had to be ok. His mind wasn't in the mood to figure out just what was going on.

X had decided to watch over the girl for Zero. He could tell his friend felt protective of her and that if she did die it would probably devastate him. Most people at the Hunter's HQ believe Zero to be an arrogant uncaring asshole. Few knew the true Zero who was an emotional time bomb waiting to explode. He had taken Iris's death very hard and now this new charge.

X sighed if there was some change in her condition for better or worse he would tell Zero but until then he would let his friend sleep. Never mind the fact that he probably needed just as much if not more rest then his friend.

The girl had been transferred to the Hunter's infirmary after Dr. Cain said she was defiantly human. He said she was in pretty bad shape but the armor she had been wearing must have taken most of the damage. She would have a long night but if she made it through she would probably live and recover. X volunteered to watch her.

She was currently in a bed with wires running to and from her and monitors all over the place. She was stable and had been for the last 5 hours. X was currently seated in a chair next to the bed staring at the girl's face.

She opened her eyes slightly at first and then closed them. X stood up and moved over.

"Hey are you awake now?" X's voice was calm and soothing.

"Nick?" whispered the girl.

"Shuu don't talk to much, you've been injured pretty badly. My friend Zero found you in the forest, brought you back here and got you some help." Said X

"What happened to me. It hurts." Whispered Shara.

"The pain medication must of worn off." Said X walking over to a cabinet and taking out a needle.

He injected the needle's contents into the IV feed.

"You should be feeling better soon. As for what happened to you we were all hoping you could tell us." His voice still calm.

He placed a hand on her forehead brushing the hair out of her face. She relaxed a bit taking a deep breath. ~The medication must be taking affect~ Thought X

"What's your name anyway?" said X not being able to hold back a slight smile on his lips.

"Shara..." and with that she fell back to sleep.

X sighed he really should have went to get Zero but he couldn't leave her alone. She seemed so scared so innocent. It also would do no good to wake him up now as she was back to sleep. He rested hands on her bed then set his head upon them. She really did seem do grow on you. Shara was her name eh? That was a nice name really. Fitting it seemed.

Zero woke up and jumped out of his pod. Usually he slacked a bit getting up but he had to go find out what had happened to that girl.

He walked to the lab. The best place to start. When he got there Lifesaver was working on some rookie reploid.

"Oh Zero they took that girl down to the infirmary." Said Lifesaver without batting an eye.

Without a thank you Zero left and headed straight to the infirmary. He entered the room and didn't even greet the nurse at the desk. He probably should have asked her were the girl had been taken but he was in his brash mood.

He wondered down the hall peaking in rooms. He finally found her. He looked in the room. She looked as if she were sleeping peacefully. X was in there with her, it looked as if he had fallen asleep with his head on her bed. Why had he stayed up with her half the night?

Zero felt an odd feeling in his chest. Not one he usually got from X. Jealousy was it? Why was he jealous of X. His hand hesitated on the doorknob. Why was he afraid to go in? Felt like he would be interrupting something. He smacked the ideas out of his head and opened the door.

X woke as he entered and he looked up at Zero almost ashamed of himself. Zero mentally raised an eyebrow.

"How is she?" Zero sat next to X.

"Well from what I know she woke up sometime last night. Not too coherent. I did find out her name was Shara. Or at least I think so. I would have come to get you but she wasn't awake that long and you need your sleep." Said X "Dr Cain said she is definitely female and that if she made it through the night she should be able to pull out of everything alright."

Zero sighed once again. "You stayed up with her all night? Why?"

"Because someone had to and you needed your rest." Said X

"But so did you."

"I was fine. But I think I'll grab a nap now." Said X standing and stretching.

He left Zero alone in the room with Shara. Zero knelt down beside her bed and looked at her stoking her hair.

"You're so beautiful. I don't know anything about you but I think I may love you." Whispered Zero. "I don't know if its even possible for that to be but I don't care. I know that if you don't make it I'll be very sad."

He was slightly glad X had left. He liked his friends company but something about his presence around this girl made him feel threatened. He rested his head on the chair. She was so sweet and good, innocent and so need of protecting. Zero wasn't going to let anything happen to her.

A week passed and there was no change in the girl's status. Other then the time she had talked to X she hadn't woken up. Someone was with her constantly. Usually Zero but to get him to rest X would watch her and then also sometimes Alia. This particular day Alia had been the one left with Shara's care.

A scream emanated from the room Shara had been in. Dr. Cain was in the room quickly to find the girl out of bed and against the wall. Alia trying in vain to calm her down.

Zero ran down the hall hearing the scream. He had been on his way to take Alia's place. He ran into the room. The girl had grabbed the IV stand and was clutching it like a weapon.

"Who are you people? Where am and where is Nick?" said the girl pointing it at the group.

At the mention of "Nick", Zero's heart sank a bit.

"Look I found you in a forest you were pretty bad off and I brought you back here to help you out. I don't know who Nick is." Said Zero

Shara looked at Zero and tried to push her self deeper into the wall.

"Please calm down we aren't going to hurt you." Said Zero walking closer to her.

She collapsed onto the floor and stated crying. Zero tired to comfort her but she pushed him away. X who had gotten notice of the commotion just now reached the room.

"What's going on?" said X

The girl looked up at X and ran toward him throwing her arms around him. She placed her head on his chest and started crying. X immediately reached down and stroked her hair calming the girl.

"Hey its ok. We're here to help. I don't know what we can do for you but be guaranteed we will try. " Zero was staring at the two. The feeling of jealousy arose in his chest again.

"Well I see the situation is under control now." Said Dr. Cain exiting, Alia close behind.

Zero lingered but X and Shara didn't notice. Shara was lost in X and he was concentrating on calming her down. It was clear he was not needed here. He stepped out of the room and placed his back against the wall next to the room. His head fell and his eyes started to water.

"Zero are you ok?" said Alia.

Zero looked at her. "I'm fine"

"Zero you're crying." stated Alia.

"I don't cry," said Zero brushing past her.

Alia looked back into the room to see Shara sitting on X's lap on the floor. Her arms were around his need and her head lay on her chest. X was calmly brushing the hair away from her face. Alia prayed someone's heart wouldn't be broken here soon.

X sighed, "Would you like to get out of this hospital ward?"

Shara looked up at him. "I don't want to be alone."

"Your safe here. Your are at Maverick Hunter Headquarters, no place is safer. Me and Zero will protect you." Said X

"Zero?" questioned Shara.

"That guy in here earlier with red armor and blonde hair." Said X.

"Oh him." Shara said with a sigh.

"You don't like him?" said X a little anxious.

"He scares me. I can smell blood on him. I thought he was going to hurt me," said Shara.

"Zero is a good guy. We both fight against the Mavericks to protect this world. He's the one that found and brought you here. You have nothing to fear from him."

"You fight the Mavericks? What are they?" said Shara.

"You really don't know much about this world do you?" said X

"No." said Shara looking down.

"You may have amnesia. I'll have Dr. Cain check you out later. But for now, the Mavericks are Repliods who have been infected with a virus. They think themselves superior to humans and have a high bloodlust. They kill mercilessly. Also once infected it is next to impossible to return from the Maverick state." Said X.

Shara stayed silent. Her head down cast. The whole situation eerily familiar to her.

A week passed and Shara was almost completely healed physically. Mentally however would take some time. She remained silent around everyone but X and even then she barely spoke. When released she was given a room across the hall from X and Zero's adjacent rooms. She only came out when X sent for her.

This particular morning X was sitting in a tree just outside the hunter hq. He was playing with a toy yo-yo he had picked up awhile back. Thinking about this new girl. Zero obviously had deep feelings for the girl. X heard a soft "Ow" and looked down.

Shara was standing just below him rubbing her head. She was wearing a yellow sun dress. The only piece of clothing that was found in her size on the base. X smiled down at her.

"Sorry I didn't see you there." X apologized.

"Its ok, I should know better then to sneak up on people."

Meanwhile Alia approached Zero.

"Hey take this." Said Alia handing Zero the Maverick Hunter's Corp. Credit Card.

"What's this for?" said Zero looking down at the thing.

"That girl Shara has no clothing what so ever. She's going to be out of the hospital soon and needs some clothing. She can't just walk around in hospital gowns all the time. I would give her some of mine but they would just fall off of her. I want you to go shopping and get her something to wear." Said Alia.

"What me?" Exclaimed Zero, "What about you? Or X even"

"I have to much paper work. Right now X is the only one she doesn't have a fit around and Dr. Cain shopping is a worse choice then you. You seem to like her well enough. Do her a favor and get her some clothing." Said Alia.

Zero sighed and looked at the blue and silver Discover card in his hand. He figured he would just hit the mall. That was a place that would have girls clothing right?

He walked through the doors and looked around. Several humans and reploids were rushing all over the place. It was enough to make the Crimson Hunter's head spin. He was glad he had decided to change out of his armor for this mission. He now wore a pair of black leather pants (eep! *drool*) and a red Sum 41 shirt. Zero loved the old punk bands (A/N Don't ask me how Zero would have known of them in his time or even could find a shirt. w/e I just wanted him in a Sum 41 shirt :p)

He walked into the nearest store. It had plastic human female figures in the window. He thought this would be a good place to get Shara some "girls" clothing.

A human female greeted him at the door. "Hello Sir, Welcome to Victory Secrets. How may I help you?"

"Uh um you see well uh." Muttered Zero "Shopping for a female friend I take it? A girlfriend?" said the lady.

"Well not exactly." Said Zero scratching the back of his head, turning as red as his armor.

"Ah but there is a bit of hope in your voices is there not?" said the girl elbowing Zero.

The result was to increase Zero's blush.

"I'm right aren't I?'

Zero just squeaked out "Well sorta."

"Then you've come to the right place!" said the attendant grabbing Zero by the arm and dragging him deeper into the store.

Ok I think that's enough for this chapter ^-^. Next chapter those who have never seen tekkaman blade will find out about Shara's mysterious (or not so) past. Plz review :D ^-^
