Author's Note: This one is for LBD Nytetrayn, as this was his idea, and I was only more than happy than to write his ideas into a story as a Megaman Zero prequel. Read and enjoy. Nyte, this one's for you.

Prologue

The human body keeps healthy with a needed amount of sleep, considering age. A child needs over twelve hours of sleep while a full grown adult only needs about nine, perhaps waking up in a very tired manner and with slight symptoms. Sleep is probably most appreciated for relaxing the soul, but it also provides a rest for most voluntary activities, as well as a calmer working condition for several organs, such as the brains, the lungs.

X didn't have much of a true organ. He had artificial lungs, an artificial heart. He had a computer chip stuck up somewhere in his head being a CPU, representing his brain. He could wake without feeling very dizzy or sleepy unless being awake for a long time and needed to either relive himself of the excess processing his CPU needed, or relax the biological features that were placed inside him that couldn't be replaced with artificial organs. Neither did he need any sleep as long as he wished to stay awake. But this time, he needed to relax his soul.

X sighed as he lay inside the capsule, the last minute checks authorized and performed by a computer onboard making sure everything was intact and in working order, and making sure the capsule would accept a being, a Reploid, such as X himself. The hero for almost a century was finally about to receive the rest it wanted for so long, the rest from battles, from his life. His life was a battle, a strife, and it wasn't against Mavericks either.

"This is it, isn't it?" the female next to capsule whispered, holding back the tears that flooded the back of her eyes, "Are you sure you want to do this?"

"I need a rest," X nodded, smiling, trying to bring some light, happiness, understanding into the female's heart, "You'll understand if you live through a century of fighting for what you care for, only to lose them and survive a living nightmare every time through."

The female nodded, understanding, or at least, pretending to understand or trying to understand. Her hand went for her eyes, trying to force the tears that she had been holding back away. X had once told her that to him, tears were for sorrow, never for happiness, because he could never experience tears of happiness. And X didn't want the person he loved to experience the same sorrow.

"It's okay," X said, holding her hand before her hand touched her face, "Let it out. I've done it before."

A single tear leaked out from the female's eyes, a single tear that went a straight line down her cheek before it finally dropped onto X's armor. It was the only tear she had the courage to make out.

X sighed, then smiled, as the capsule began to make the lockdown sequence. Turning to the Reploid next to the female, X whispered, "You'll take care of her, won't you, Omega?"

Omega was an almost perfect replica of X in appearance. If it had been Omega lying in the capsule, no one but those who knew X well could've probably told the difference. "Don't worry," Omega assured, nodding, "She'll be fine with me. I promise you that."

X nodded as the glass began to encase the capsule. X smiled again and whispered, "Your life is your own, Ciel. Love yourself as I would love you." The capsule locked as the whirring of airlock was heard, and the capsule's rockets ignited, sending X to the coordinates Ciel had inputted earlier. Both Ciel and Omega stepped back as clouds of dust flew into the air, and the capsule skyrocketed into the sky, leaving the two with nothing to look at but the sky, the clouds, and a long trail of smoke.

"X." Ciel whispered, before letting out the tears she couldn't shed in front of X. Omega looked at Ciel, at first with wonder, before he cradled Ciel in her arms.
