Regi was in Slytherin, so most her friends were already Death Eaters. But she was different, Regi wasn't like them. Or at least she hoped. As Regi leaned over to watch her reflection her long black hair fell over her shoulder. The tips dragged in the water and she smiled. Regi flipped the hair back over her shoulder and looked at the lake. Her hazel eyes glowed bright and her tan face shined. Regi seemed much prettier when she looked into the lake.
"Regi, what are you doing?" She turned around to see Draco walking toward her. "We were wondering where you were, its getting dark." She looked toward the horizon to see the sun blood red on the horizon. The color made her stomach churn. "Sorry, lost track of time." Draco nodded, "Come on. Dinner is in a few minutes."
Regi got up off the ground and brushed her robs off. Draco smiled at Regi, and she gave a weak grin back. She knew him well, and as Regi had expected he took her half smile as being happy. Sometimes she wondered if he had eyes--he could be so blind. Regi still liked him, somewhere under his nastiness there had to be some good, and she wished she could find it. He took her hand and the two of them walked up to the great hall. Blaise waved over to Regi and she walked over to sit next to her. Draco sat down a few feet away near Pansy.
Blaise smiled as Regi sat down, "Out by the lake again?" Regi smiled, Blaise was the only Slytherin she considered a true friend. Like Regi she didn't seem that evil. For all Regi knew she wasn't a death eater. She never talked about it. "Yes, thinking."
That night Regi sat in front of the fire. Everyone thought she was dead to the world, but she was listening to every word spoken. "When do you think he will call us again?" "I don't know, has he decided how to get rid of pothead yet?" "Unfortunately no, or at least that is what I think." "Do you think he ever will? Why don't we just kill him here, I'd give my life to get my hand around his neck." "You'd get a kiss if you did." "The master with find a way. We just need to follow orders." As quietly as she could, Regi slipped up the stairs. She couldn't stand to listen any longer.
To her surprise, Blaise was sitting in the window staring at the moon. Regi quietly walked over to her, "Are you okay?" Blaise jumped slightly and turned around. Her face was streaked with tears. Regi looked at her amazed, never in Regi's life had she seen Blaise cry. "What's wrong?" Blaise looked at her sadly, but she guiltily looked down right away. "Blaise?" Regi said, not keeping the worry out of her voice. "Regi, if I told you something, do you promise to not get mad at me?" Regi looked at her, "I-I mean-I guess." She looked up her eyes pleading for help, "Please." Regi nodded nervously.
She slipped of the ledge and walked over to sit at her bed. Regi sat down next to her. She took a deep breath and pulled back her sleeve. Regi's heart dropped and she bit her lip. The dark mark was tattooed on Blaise's arm. Regi touched it and Blaise quickly pulled back and covered it up. "I thought-I mean-you-and them." Regi shook her head, Blaise had betrayed her. Regi had thought she wasn't one of them. She looked up at Regi her eyes glazed with tears. "You have to help me!" The anger swelled in Regi, "Help you! Why do you need help! You have Voldemort! I thought you weren't like them!" Blaise's tears flowed heavily down her cheeks, "Please, don't be mad!" "Mad! My best friend betrayed me!" Regi stood up to leave but she felt Blaise grip her arm. Her hand clenched hard around Regi's wrist. "I don't want to be one! My parents wanted me and I was afraid," she paused, and then barely above a whisper she said, "I was afraid to say no, I'm still afraid." Regi looked at her and sat down again, "How long?" "A month."
Suddenly Regi grabbed her hand and dragged her out of the room. She didn't stop and Blaise didn't make her. They ran through the halls. Finally Regi stopped in front of the statue of a gargoyle. She closed her eyes and thought hard, "Lemon Drop...blood Flavor Beans!" Regi smiled at the statue swung open. Blaise watched from behind and Regi dragged her up the stairs. She reached the door and knocked.
Dumbledore opened it and looked at, "Regina! Blaise! May I help you." Regi walked into his office and Blaise followed. Dumbledore looked at them his face creased with worry, "Are you okay." Regi took a deep breath, "Blaise needs your help..we need your help." Blaise slowly pulled her sleeve up, "I don't want to be one, but my parents won't understand if I say no."
Dumbledore sighed and sat down. Suddenly he looked up, "You could help me Blaise, it will be dangerous though, and you too Regina." Regi looked at him. "You could become a spy for me, or you can stop meeting Voldemort and hope he won't get mad." Blaise looked at Regi and she did the same, spies? Blaise looked down at her arm. What other choice did she have? Regi looked back at Dumbledore. Something inside of Regi broke loose, "I'll do it!" Dumbledore smiled a weak smile. Blaise looked at Regi, "I will too. I'll do anything; I just don't want to be on his side." Dumbledore nodded. He went over to the desk and took out a phoenix pendant and rudded it 'draco' Dumbledore said quietly.
Regi looked at him surprised. A few minutes later Draco walked into the room. "Yes." "We have some new spies." Regi looked at him, "You're on our side!" He smiled, "Yes." Dumbledore smiled, "Tomorrow meet in my office." Regi nodded and the three of them walked out. "So you were on our side the whole time?" "Not really, for about a year now. Only a few know I'm a spy." Blaise looked at us and smiled, "I'm going to go back to the common room." She took off down the wall and Regi watched. She walked over to a larger window and looked out at the lake. "I can't believe this is happening. I'm leaving Hogwarts soon, and then I'll be a spy! This world has gone crazy."
Draco walked over and stood next to her, "At least we have friends helping us." Regi looked him. "Regi, I'm glad you finally made the right choice. I've always been afraid you would give in. Every time you went down to the lake I thought you'd come back a decided Death Eater." Regi smiled, "I always thought you wanted me to." Draco leaned in near, "Never." A tear rolled down her cheek. "I'll always be here for you, I always have been. Let me." Regi smiled as he wiped away the tear, "I." Draco kissed her, "Let us defeat him together." Regi looked into the sky. There are billions of stars, billions of people, and somewhere in the expanse is one meant for you. Regi was glad that she had found hers.
