I'm standing on a bridge

I thought that you'd be here by now

Toby sat on the steps in front of the Lincoln Memorial and pulled his coat
tighter around himself to try to ward off the cold. He'd been sitting
there for almost two hours, since he'd left the bar Sam had been at. He
thought she'd be here by now.

There's nothing but the rain
No footsteps on the ground
I'm listening but there's no sound

But she wasn't.

Isn't anyone tryin to find me?
Won't somebody come take me home
It's a damn cold night
Trying to figure out this life

It didn't really surprise him. He knew she was still mad at him over the
leadership breakfast. He couldn't really blame her. He was still mad at
himself. He'd let her down. It seemed that was all he knew how to do now.
He'd let Josh down over Christmas, her with the breakfast, and now Sam.

take me somewhere new
I don't know who you are

He didn't seem to know how to do anything else anymore.

I'm looking for a place
searching for a face

He didn't know if she'd forgive him this time. Didn't know if he deserved
to be forgiven.

is anybody here I know
cause nothing's going right
and everything's a mess
and no one likes to be alone

After all, how many times could he really expect her to?

Sometimes he wondered if maybe it was time for him to leave, to move on.
He didn't seem to be doing a lot of good for the administration.

But where would he go? What would he do? This was the only thing he knew
how to do.

He didn't know what to do. And she wasn't there for him to talk to.

Toby was startled out of his thoughts by the sound of heels clicking on the
pavement. Surprised, he looked up.

I'm with you

She stopped in front of him, and stood there, looking down. She'd come.

Without a word, she put out her hand, and stood, waiting for him to take
it.

I'm with you

He grasped her hand and allowed her to help pull him up, then followed her
as she went to her car.

I'm with you...
