One treats him as if he is a pest, rushing down the other way of the hall when he sees Colin. The other is very nice to Colin, always saying hello and telling him his photographs turned out great.
But the bottom line is, they both don't care about Colin. Harry makes it obvious, rolling his eyes whenever Colin holds up his camera in Harry's presence. Ginny doesn't show it at all, but it's obvious. Even though she talks to Colin and smiles at him and stis with him in class, it's obvious she doesn't really care. Colin had hoped that when Ginny got over her Harry obsession, she would turn to Colin. But she didn't. She had found Dean. And Justin.
Colin watches it all. Because some things don't change. He watches Harry, whispering with Ron and Hermine about Vol-well, you know. And he watches Ginny scribbel one word, over and over, on a piece of parchment, only this time it's a different name. But he could never get his hopes up that it would be his name some day. Because some things, no matter how much they change, never really change at all.
