"We've spent our whole lives on this island, Sora," Riku said quietly, adding the finishing details to his self-portrait. Sora worked diligently on his own picture next to his friend.
"Hmm, yeah, but I like it here. You're here."
Riku laughed softly and wiped the chalk from his hands on to his pants. He touched Sora's arm gently to bring his younger friend's full attention to him.
"But don't you want to go somewhere else? You know, we'd still be together."
"Yes. well." Sora murmured uncertainly. But as he finished sketching his face on the cavern wall, he smiled mischievously and drew his hand, holding out a star shaped fruit for Riku's picture to taste.
Riku laughed, saying "A paupu fruit!"
"Well, what else would you expect?" Sora asked, feigning a look of innocence. "We were made for each other!" He finished dramatically, sending them both into gales of laughter. When their giggles subsided, the were laying on the sandy bottom of their secret place, holding each other and staring at the simple chalk pictures they had just drawn.
After a few moments of comfortable silence, Riku spoke. "Let's get out of this place Sora; just you and me."
"Wouldn't you rather take Kairi?" Though Riku wasn't looking at Sora, he could hear the pout in the brunette's voice.
"Silly. I love you."
"Good to know."
Riku smiled and held Sora closer. He spoke again, laughing a little. "Honestly, Sora! What were you thinking? Kairi?"
Sora hid a smirk in Riku's hair and tightened his grip around Riku's waist, saying in a rather childish voice, "Mine."
"Of course," Riku said, "And I wouldn't have it any other way."

Just inside the tunnel leading to the outside world sat a pouting Kairi. They better not think of leaving without me! she thought. Soundlessly, she stood and stalked out of the tunnel, leaving Sora and Riku, still unaware the she had been eavesdropping.
