Who destroyed forever the balance of the world;

Who, self serving, likewise saved it from tyranny

Only to impose my own.

Who brought the human herd to its knees;

Who birthed their oppressors in a womb of hatred,

And raised them as my own.

I am Kain,

Who ruled unchallenged from a seat of blasphemy;

Who, invidious, stripped unfledged wings from my favoured son:

His evolution surpassed my own.

I am Kain,

Who chanced oblivion on the flip of a coin,

Who, power-hungry, bent time to my will -

Forever to traverse it alone?
