This story takes place directly after the episode where Hyde dumps Jackie, and then takes her back, and to the Valentines Day dance. And Kelso is dumped by Jessica, and left alone with his feelings for Jackie.

Oh, and question? It's all spaced out really nice in Microsoft word. but now it just looks all crappy. How do I fix that?

Part One

Foreman's Basement, day after Valentines

"Why did you take Jackie back Hyde?" Donna asked. "I don't know. I guess I just." He was cut off by Mrs. Foreman. "Donna, Lynne's here!" "Oh crap, I forgot. One of my friends from school's parents went abroad for a couple months, so she's staying over." Donna explained. "Maybe she and Hyde can hook up." Fez joked, snickering to himself. "Man, I don't date Catholic chicks." "Donna?" Lynne asked, stepping down the stairs to the basement. "Mrs. Foreman said it was okay if I just came down." At first all you could see were her knee high combat boots, then her long legs, blue and green plaid skirt, and then her white dress shirt, with the three top buttons unbuttoned, revealing part of her black undershirt. She ducked her head around the corner and said Hello, her waist length black hair, with blonde and red streaks, swinging behind her. "On the other hand." Hyde reasoned softly to himself. "Hey Lynne, this is my boyfriend Eric." Donna said, about to gesture to Eric. Lynne walked down the rest of the stairs and stopped in front of Hyde. "Donna's told me so much about you Eric." She extended her hand, her deep purple eyes shining. "Congratulations by the way!" "Um. Lynne. I'm Eric." Eric said, standing up, extending his hand. "Oh. Erm. Sorry Eric." Lynne said blushing. She took Eric's hand, and he winced. "Man, that's a. powerful handshake you got there." He said, pulling his hand away and rubbing it. "Oh sorry. I sometimes forget how strong I am." Lynne said, brushing her hair out of her face. "But you're so. not Donna." Kelso said, laughing. "What's that supposed to mean dilhole?" Donna said. "I mean that she's all small and stuff, and like." "And like, she's a girl, so like, she's not like, gonna be able to like, harm Kelso, because Kelso's so hot and attractive, and like, just looking at him like, makes her all weak and stuff!" Lynne jested. However, the joke went right over Kelso's head. "Wow, she knows my name." He laughs, "And she thinks I'm hot!" Lynne smacks her forehead. "Lynne, me and Eric have a date tonight, is it okay if we leave you here? I mean if it's not, we'll stay here." Donna asked. "Sure, I feel pretty safe knowing I could fend off the foreign kid with candy, Hyde with beer, and Kelso with lip gloss." "But you don't HAVE any beer." Hyde reminded her. "True. but I don't really feel the need to fend you off." Lynne said, winking at Hyde. "OOOHH BUUUUUUUUURN!" Kelso said, slapping his thigh and laughing. ".Huh?" Lynne asked. "Don't bother." Fez said. "He's still hurting from Jessica dumping him and going back to California." "Gee, I wonder why." She pauses. "I'm going to go play my guitar at Donna's, or maybe hang myself with a short rope. My IQ is slowly depleting into a little puddle of goo in front of Kelso." She turns towards the stairs. "Dude, she totally digs me!" Kelso cheered. "I'll go with you, if you don't mind." Hyde said, standing up and grabbing his jacket. "Not at all, glad to be of service" Lynne said, saying goodbye to Eric and Donna. "Nice meeting you." She runs up the stairs. "I think she digs you Hyde." Donna said. "Doesn't matter, I'm with Jackie." Hyde sighed, going up the stairs after Lynne. "Man, he's so unhappy in that relationship." Fez said, "We should try to make him happy." "You mean by hooking him up with Lynne?" Kelso asked. "Then I could have Jackie back!" "No, I meant giving him some Candy, you idiot." Fez explained, throwing a candy heart at Kelso. "Woh! A candy heart too!!" Kelso screamed in his idiotic joy.

Lynne's Bedroom at Donna's

"You have a lot of boxes here. How long are you staying?" Hyde asked, moving a box off the floor so he could sit down in front of Lynne. "Till the end of summer, Harry and Sue are touring all of Europe and the Middle East." I said. "I think they're trying to revive their marriage or something." I shrugged, and sat on the floor cross legged in front of Hyde. "Harry and Sue?" Hyde asked. "Yeah, I was adopted after my dad ran off someplace and my mom gave up on me. I guess it's okay, they don't really ask much of me, and they give me money to spend on shit I don't even need." I shrugged, opening my guitar case. "I know how that is, pretty identical situation here too." Hyde said, looking around the room. "Yeah, Donna mentioned you were living with Eric." I said, looking around too. "I should probably unpack. But then again, most my stuff is still in boxes at my house." I strummed a few cords on the guitar and decided it was tuned. "If you need any help, or anything." Hyde was cut off by Bob. "Lynne? Who's in there with you? Is it a boy?" "You can come in Mr. Pinciati." I said. "It's only Hyde. I'm going to teach him how to play guitar." I held up the guitar for him to see. "We'll have none of that in this house missy." Bob said, "Now, go down to the living room." "Uhm. Okay." I put my guitar away. "Show me the neighbor hood or something?" I asked, standing up and opening a box up. "Sure, I can show you the hub," "Now that's better." Bob said, retreating into the hallway. "I'm going to go insane if I have to stay here alone all this time." I muttered, grabbing through clothes and piling them on a nearby chair. "Where the hell is my damn jacket? UGH!" I shouted, kicking the box into the wall. "You want to wear mine?" Hyde asked. I suddenly felt embarrassed. "Sorry, I have a temper problem. Sure. Thanks." I said, looking down. "Hey, everyone has their flaws." Hyde said, taking off his jacket, and turning me around to help me put it on. I didn't know it then, but he didn't mean my flaws.

Part Two: The Hub

"How utterly disappointing." I said, leaning back on one of the booths. "Yeah, but it gets interesting." Hyde explained. Little did he know it was going to get very interesting, very soon. "I guess you have to live here long enough to experience all the color. or something. What the hell did I just say?" I asked, looking weirded out. "Probably something intelligent?" Hyde suggested. "Wouldn't be the first time I let intelligence slip!" I chided. "So how'd you meet Donna?" Hyde asked. "I don't have any friends at the Catholic School, or any friends at all for that matter. And when a new unusual student comes around, I try to get to know them before the popular sluts abduct them. And I guess Donna didn't want to be abducted." I said, braiding a piece of my hair. "Hah, yeah, all those cliques." Hyde said, seriously. "It's a conspiracy, I swear." "I know! I mean, how do they automatically know what clique they're in? How can they just START being so fake from day one? It's so impossible." I chimed in. "Wow, I never thought I'd find someone who had the same conspiracy theories as me." Hyde said, looking at me in a whole new light. "It's a small world after all?" I suggested, pouring more ketchup into the fry basket. 'I have to find a girl like this when I'm dating someone.' Hyde thought silently to himself. 'Damnit, why can't Jackie just admit she still loves Kelso?' "Lynne? Is that you?" Someone said, walking to the table where Hyde and I sat. "Bobby? Jesus Christ. What are you doing here?" I said, brushing my hair back and out of my face as I glared at him. "Already got a new guy huh? I see how much you really cared for me." Bobby sneered at Hyde. "And he's such a lowlife. You left me for this trash?" "Hey man, we don't want any trouble." Hyde said standing up. "Bobby, just go. Hyde's just a friend." I said, standing up too. "Whatever, you know you still love me Lynne." Bobby said, looking at Hyde. "She'll be back with me within the week." "Need I remind you of that letter I wrote to you?" I hissed. "The one filled with hatred for what you did? And how it said, I wouldn't ever want you back, even if you were the last man on earth?" "Remind away babe. You wouldn't have written it unless you really loved me." He snickered. "I told you not to call me BABE, you pig." I glared, "Meet me at the old lot, tonight at 10, and I'll remind you, alright." I shoved past him, and ran out of The Hub and into the street, right past Donna and Eric, wiping away the tears as I ran. Hyde ran out after me and right into Donna and Eric. "Hyde! You big Jerk! What'd you do?!" Donna said slapping him. "LYNNE!" Hyde shouted after me, but I was already gone. "I didn't do shit! It was that dumb ass Bobby." "Who the hell is Bobby?" Donna asked. "I'm Bobby. Lynne's ex." Bobby said, walking out of the hub with his arm around a blonde bimbo. "Stay away from her man." Hyde warned. "What are you going to do?" Bobby asked, "You haven't known her as long as I have, you don't know what she likes." "You don't want to find out what I'll do to you if you go near her again." Hyde said, turning his back on Bobby and walking in the direction of the vista cruiser. "Or what I'll do to you." Donna said, shoving Bobby into his bimbo and stalking after Hyde. "Yeah, or what I'll. um. I'll just go now." Eric said, running after Donna and Hyde.

The Vista Cruiser

"Dude, I can't believe the nerve of that guy." Hyde said, as he retold the story of what happened to Donna and Eric. "I should have kicked his ass!" Donna said, pounding her fist on the dash of the Vista Cruiser. "Is that her?" Eric asked, pointing up ahead to a girl sitting on a bus bench. Hyde already had the door open and was calling out Lynne's name.

I looked over to see who was calling my name, saw that it was Hyde, and curled into a little ball. "I don't want them to see me like this." I moaned softly. I really wanted them to be my friends; I didn't want them to see how weak I really was outside my bad ass attitude. "Get in Lynne." Hyde said, taking my hand and coaxing me up. "No. I want to go home." I whined pitifully, my voice breaking as I said 'home'. Hyde crouched down next to me. "Lynne, its winter, you're wearing a skirt and not much else. On top of that, you're upset, and you need someone to talk to." I moved my head to the side and looked at him. "What do you say? We'll go back to the basement, and I'll let you cry on my shoulder all you want. You can hit me, scream at me, whatever." "Well." I sniffed. "If I can hit you." I joked. He pulled me to my feet and gave me a hug. "That's my girl, now in the car you go." Hyde said smacking my ass and shoving me into the Vista Cruiser. I crawled into the backseat, and waited till he got in beside me, and snuggled up to him for warmth. He put an arm around me and by the time we got home, I was asleep.

Part Three: Basement

Lynne was safely tucked into Hyde's bed, wearing a pair of his pants, and one of his shirts. Everyone sans Jackie were sitting in front of the TV, talking about Lynne.

"I knew she had stuff that she couldn't deal with, but I never thought it was anything like this." Donna said. "What the hell did he do to her anyway?" Hyde said, "I mean, how could he have done, what ever it was that he did, to a girl like her? A girl that's so." Hyde trailed off, and started thinking to himself. 'So vibrate, colorful, unique, beautiful... so goddamn gorgeous. Beautiful? Gorgeous? Am I falling for her.?' "Hyde? Are you blushing?" Donna asked, "Hell no, I'm not blushing." Hyde says, sounding irritated. "Why would Steven be blushing?" Jackie asked, entering through the basement door. "Because Hyde has the hots for Lynne." Fez explained. "Who the hell is Lynne?!" Jackie asked, stomping up to Hyde. "She's a friend from school; she's staying at my house for a few months." Donna supplied, while Hyde glared down at Jackie. "What if I do have the hots for her? Huh? It's not like you're trying to hide your feelings for Kelso anymore." "That's completely different Steven!" Jackie protested. "I didn't even touch her Jackie." "Well. actually. You hugged her. and held her in the car. and you carried her to." Eric shuts up when Hyde glares at him. "Wow, I get to watch them break up again." Fez said, smiling with a handful of candy. "Steven! How could you even think about touching another girl?!" Jackie shouted, "Y'know what. I don't care!" "So what, that's it? You're not even going to listen to my reasoning? You're just going to walk away? Hey, maybe now you can try to get back with your boyfriend. Or should I say Kelso?" Hyde shouts back at her. Meanwhile, Lynne had heard the shouting, and walked out of Hyde's room. Her face was tear stained, and her hair messed up. Donna and Eric were the first to notice her standing there, watching Jackie and Hyde scream at each other. Fez and Kelso were too involved in the fight. Fez eating the candy, and Kelso hoping he could get Jackie back.

"Um. Excuse me?" I said, trying to get Jackie and Hyde's attention. They didn't hear me. "That's not fair Michael!" Jackie argued, and then noticed her slip of tongue. She put her hand to her mouth, and everyone was quiet. "See? You can't even get my name right." Hyde said, sitting down dejectedly onto his chair. "Well. Fine!" Jackie said, and started stalking towards the door. "Um." I said, quietly. "I didn't really." I paused as everyone slowly looked at me, and Jackie glared. "So this is the skank you cheated on me with?!" She accused, either not noticing my disheveled state, or not caring. I looked wounded for a moment, and continued my sentence. "I didn't really mean to cause any trouble. I admit that I like Hyde, but I never made any advances towards him. He was simply there for me when I was down. and defended me when Bobby verbally attacked me. I didn't want to break anyone up; I didn't want to hurt anyone. I'm sorry. I just wanted to make friends. I'm. so." My eyes welled up with tears, and I ran to the basement door, flung it open and ran up the stairs to the outside. Everyone was quiet. Jackie looked guilty, but quickly found a way to confront Hyde again.

"Why was she wearing your clothes Steven?" She asked slowly. "Her other clothes got wet when she ran out of the hub and curled up on a bus bench." Donna replied, "Me and Eric were there. Hyde didn't cheat on you Jackie." "He did slap her ass though." Hyde glared at Eric. "Okay, shutting up now." Eric muttered, getting up and going to the door. "I think they need some time alone." "I'll go with you." Donna said, standing up and following Eric out the door. Fez and Kelso just stayed where they were sitting. "Get out." Hyde said, and Kelso and Fez got up and went up the stairs to the kitchen for something to eat. "Well Steven?" Jackie asked. "Well what? Do you expect me to say I'm sorry for helping out a friend when she was in need?" He asked. "I don't expect anything. You're just like Michael." She said angrily. "I'm surprised you can even tell the two of us apart!" Hyde replied bitterly. "BURRRRRNNNN!!" Kelso shouted from the top of the stairs. "If you loved me, you wouldn't be fighting with me." Jackie said softly. "Well maybe I don't." Hyde replied quietly. "Just what is that supposed to mean?!" "Just what I said. Maybe I'm not in love with you. Maybe I never was, maybe I was just being nice to you." He said. "Well maybe I don't want to be with someone like that anymore!" She retorted. "Then maybe you should leave. I'm going to go talk to Lynne. I'll see you later." "No Steven, You won't." Jackie says, running up the stairs and into Kelso. "So Jackie." he started. "I don't want to hear it Michael!" Hyde grabbed Lynne's clothes, and looked around the room. 'So many memories are in this one room. So many new beginnings and endings.' He mentally scolds himself for thinking so philosophically, and shuts the door behind him.
