The Promise You Broke.
(I don’t own the words to Dance with my Father or Zoids Shinseiki)
Sequel to: The Day You Died
It had been one week since Leena had gone to visit Bit’s grave. She wanted to go back, but it had taken her one week to stop crying herself to sleep. She laid upon her bed and began falling asleep.
“You broke your promise, Bit... You broke your promise...” Leena whispered, half asleep.
It was one week before the unexpected death of the Liger pilot, the Blitz team had just come out of a lost battle. Bit looked at the battered Liger Zero and said,
“We’ll get em’ next time, right partner?” Liger roared in agreement. “Yeah, now that’s the spirit. Now, to get to your repairs.” Leena had walked in, ready for a full night’s worth of work on her Gunsniper. Brad had already buckled down to repairing the Shadowfox. Bit couldn’t help but star at the red-headed warrior before Liger said,
*Yo, Bit, how long are you going to stare at Leena? Huh?*
“HUH?! Oh hey, whoa!” Bit slapped himself. “Knock it off, Liger.”
It was well into the night when all three tired warriors were done. Bit and Leena both fell and leaned on their zoids.
“Hi, Leena.” Bit said, smiling tiredly.
“Hey, Bit.” They began talking about the battle and what they could’ve done to win it. They began falling asleep. Leena began shivering. Bit crawled over to the bed in the hanger and grabbed the blanket off it. He crawled back an motioned for her to come over. When she did, to her surprise, he wrapped the blanket around them and said,
“Leena, if you need me, I’ll be here, promise.”
Leena awoke in her bed, sweating heavily. She turned on her radio and the words,
If I could steal one final glance, one final step, one final dance with him. I’d play a song that would never, ever end. I would love, love, love to dance with my- she turned the channel in sheer anger. She threw the remote on the floor and the song returned.
‘It’s a song about his FATHER, not one about Bit.’ Tears welled in her eyes and she cried once more for the deceased blonde.
“Damn it, you broke your promise.! I know you didn’t want or mean to! But you did!” Leena whispered. “I miss you... Bit... and I hope you miss me too...” She drifted off to sleep once more. “Ai shiteru, Bit.”

P.S: I chose the lyrics to ‘Dance With My Father’ because it those words reminded me of my friend who died. /I almost cried typing the lyrics... ^_^’
