A/N: This is what happens when the children I babysit ask for a story. I don't babysit much anymore.

'Twas the morning of June 6th, and all in the dark

Every creature was stirring, including The Lark.

The carbines were stocked in the Cornith with care

In hopes that Les Amis soon would be there

Cosette was tucked all snug in her bed

While visions of Marius danced in her head

Fantine in her kerchief, and also her cap

Had in the cold earth settled for a LONG nap

When out in the streets there arose such a clatter

Mabeuf sprang from his bed to see what was the matter

Out in the streets, a barricade had appeared

Created by Les Amis, those little dears

'Ponine had run out to get Marius Pontmercy

Giggling "We're all going to die, haha, hehe!"

She never had been quite right in the head

But sooner or later, she would end up dead

Javert sat there, with a look like a stone

Seeming to think, "I should have stayed home!

These Frat Boys shall shoot me, this isn't much fun

Oh great, it gets better, here's 24601!"

For indeed, Jean Valjean had arrived

To save the one boy he rather despised

But indeed, poor Valjean, he got a lot more

Than he had ever bargained for

A schizophrenic spy, suicidal as well

Valjean couldn't kill him; he'd go straight to Hell!

So he let him go, he let Javvie live

Only to see Javert jump off of a bridge!

"That didn't work out the way that I hoped."

Thought Valjean sadly while he moped.

"Oh well." He said, "Though I feel much dread.

I'll save this Marius kid instead!"

Enjolras and Grantaire were quite sad also

Holed up in the Cornith with no place to go

Faced with a firing squad, just like Jehan Prouvaire

Grantaire thinking, "I want ma mére!"

Enjolras thinking, "This isn't any fun!

Why can't I be saved by Jean Valjean?

I'm hotter than Marius, everyone knows that it's true!"

And turning to Grantaire, said, "I love you!"

Grantaire, who had tears in his eyes

Cried "Oh Darling Enjie, together we'll die!

But we're everyone's favorites, of that it is clear

Even if we won't make it alive from here!"

As they embraced, tears from their eyes did leak

As they were shot, screaming "Vive le Republic!"

Away in the sewers, Thenardier sat

But what he was looking for wasn't a chat

Searching Marius' pockets, like he did to his dad

Naughty Thenardier, he wasn't good, he was bad.

Ripping his jacket, Marius' hands cold as ice

That Thenardier never had been very nice

Later on, once Marius had felt much better

The Gillornamands got a special visitor

A young lady, pretty (though not very bright)

Had arrived at their house one special night

Grandpa smiled, started hitting on her

'Til Marius said, "That's my fiancee, sir!"

Cosette squealed "Ewww! Creepy old guy!

At least Marius is here, I'd be sad if you died."

Cosette and Marius married, Valjean went away

Cosette never noticed, until one special day

Marius found out how stupid he'd been

Valjean had saved him, Marius had been rude to him!

But it all ended well, once everything had been said

Although everybody had ended up dead

Valjean's death took very long

Then all the dead folks came back for one last song

Now go to sleep, my tiny babysitting charge

I told you a story, condensed a book that was large

A story full of heartache and strife

Now I hope that you aren't scarred for life!
