Silently I waitbr /
Listening to the wind tremble through leafy jewelsbr /
whispering possibilitiesbr /

Where the soft grasses grow tall and thebr/
emerald trees brush the starsbr /
The forest waits with mebr /
Under a clear, cold moonbr /

Where white wolves howl chilling notesbr /
Where hairs raise to hear those snatches of songbr /
and bodies tremble to listenbr /
I wait in patient silencebr /

At last I seebr /
a figure unlike that of the wolvesbr /
A white formbr /
moving stealthily through the treesbr /

Hidden in a bed of glittering leavesbr /
under the cold moon I watchbr /
A raised headbr /
A glance in my directionbr /
Blue eyes sparklebr /
and a fleeting smile is bestowed upon mebr /

Like a whispered notebr /
quivering in the leavesbr /
Like a feathery kissbr /
brushing my cheekbr /
There one instant, and gone the nextbr /
Fleeing on the windbr /

And I tremble silentlybr /
In the forest in the nightbr /

I was inspired to write this poem after I saw Princess Mononoke. I hope its just half as beautiful as that movie was!
