Disclaimers: As you all may know very well, my writing is terrible. Do you think anyone would believe me if I claimed Yami no Matsuei to be mine?

We've all known Muraki as an evil villain, a sadistic tormentor, blah blah blah… Now, have you ever wondered what Muraki could be like on his ordinary days of working as a doctor? That's what I tried to dig into with this fic. Pathetic, isn't it? What other excuse can I possibly give for not coming up with decent plots? -_-;;;

::Author's Notes:: This little ficcie is dedicated to my very dear friend midori hitomi a.k.a. aelaishia. Thanks a lot for the fun term we shared even if it was too short and quite busy. I wasn't planning on writing this yet, really. But I did for you. Forgive the horrible output. And, well, good luck with your course! ^^

Until Then

The sequel to "Rest Assured, I Love You" and "Chance"… the ~final~ part of this mini trilogy.

~'~'~'~

Having this kind of job really requires a lot of effort and time management know-how. I have a very hectic schedule and have patients to attend to every now and then. Sometimes it makes me want to think that the money I earn doesn't even seem to compensate for the tiring and sleepless nights. Once you've become a doctor, you're forever one. Everywhere, anytime, even when you're in the middle of enjoying vacation, you have to take care of emergency cases. Aside from that, you also have to spend a lot of time tending to your patients personally. And sometimes, there are chances that having to work a little more than usual is inevitable.

What I'm trying to say here is, there are times when you also have to baby sit.

Today, I went to do my regular check-up on one of my patients suffering from asthma. Her parents entrusted her care to me because they were suddenly called to an emergency. Oh well, fortunately for them I don't have much to do today, so spending a bit more time with her is quite fine. Besides, she's one of my favorite patients anyway. Her name is Sakura, a five-year-old with bright jade-colored eyes. What's even more astonishing about her is that she has very light blond hair… almost silvery. Hair like ours is very rare, and maybe that's what drew me to her. Sometimes, I inwardly laugh at myself whenever a naughty thought crosses my mind… if we had a daughter, maybe she'd look just like her. See? Hilarious, isn't it?

"Sensei… sensei!" she tugs my sleeve, then asks with a really sweet smile. "Can we go to the park? Pleeeaaase?"

"But Sakura-chan, your parents might get worried if we are not here when they come back. Besides, I told you that you're not yet allowed to go out too much. Getting tired is bad for your delicate health." I gently remind her.

"But… but… um…" she pauses for a while to think while biting her lower lip tensely "Only for a while then. I won't take long. Promise! So, please?" She looks at me with big pleading eyes.

"Maa maa, how can I refuse if you look at me like that?" I consent with a smile.

"Yay!" She happily squeals.

I grab my coat, take her by the hand and we walk out of the house on our way to the park.

It's nice that there aren't that much people around, despite that the weather's quite lovely today… perfect for picnics even. Sakura sways my hand as we walk around. She runs ahead upon seeing an empty swing and beckons me to walk faster.

"Sensei! Hurry up!" she cheerfully calls out, waving a tiny hand.

"Hai, hai." I chuckle.

She takes a seat and firmly holds on to the chains attached. I walk closer to her and push her swing back and forth. After a few rounds she got tired so we stop to rest on an oak bench for a while.

"Are you feeling tired now? Sakura-chan." I ask her, observing her breathing too see if there are any signs of an asthma attack.

"Iie. Mou daijoubu." She shakes her head.

"We can go home now if you like." I calmly suggest.

And she shakes her head frantically upon hearing that. "Iie! Iie! Iie! Sensei, please. Just a bit longer?" she asks with a desperate voice and puppy-like eyes.

"Alright." I sigh. But I understand her wanting to be outdoors this much. Her parents tend to be overprotective of her, to the point that they rarely let her out of their house. And now that she has the chance to be free, she wants to make the most out of it.

She turns her head when something catches her attention. A stray kitten with thick, brown fur and bright blue eyes passes by.

"Ah! Kawaii!" She hastily stands up and chases the little animal.

And I noticed a second too late that she tripped on an exposed metal tube. As she fell down, I could only call out her name.

"Sakura!"

Then someone comes in the nick of time to catch her. That person helps her stand up and kneels down in front of her, brushing the dirt off her denim overall.

"Daijoubu desu ka?" Asks a soft voice that I only know so well. A voice that tries so hard to hide concern from others but miserably fails.

I walk closer to see if Sakura is unharmed. Her parents will have my head if something happens to her while she's out here with me.

"Un! Doumo arigatou!" Sakura beams widely.

"Well, it's so nice to see you again, bouya."

"You…" Your mellow voice falters with mild surprise.

Sakura looks up at me curiously, then at you. You look at me with that startled look in your eyes that you always seem to reserve only for me… a look filled with innocence and confusion that perfectly suits your lime diamonds of eyes.

"What are you doing here?" you ask, trying to sound composed.

"I'm her doctor." I simply put, shrugging nonchalantly.

"I trust that you're not using her as one of your… puppets again?" You look at me with intense eyes, as if looking through my soul.

"Bouya, I'm not just… well, what you've known me, or what you see me to be. Remember, I still am a sworn doctor." I honestly answer. And yes, contrary to popular belief, I do have the ability to be honest.

You look at Sakura with sad eyes, but your expression softens when she flashes a wide smile at you.

"Well, she looks okay to me." You pat Sakura gently then turn away. "Take care. I'll be going now." You tell her, trying to suppress an almost visible smile.

"Wait!" Sakura holds on to your sleeve as you start to walk. "Won't you play with us for a while? Please, oniichan." She begs with puppy eyes.

"Eh? But I…" You hesitate.

"Please? Please? Pleeeaase?" Sakura insists cutely.

"Oh, fine." You sigh as you give in.

I wonder… was it because Sakura really has a very effective persuasion trick? Or maybe, you also have a soft spot for kids… just like me.

"So, what do you want to play, Sakura-chan?" I ask, knowing all too well the answer.

"Um, what about 'Follow the Master'?" She eagerly suggests.

Of course… That's what she'd always play with me whenever I visit her. It seems to be her favorite.

You sit down on the bench disinterestedly and cross your arms over your chest, eyes closed. Had I mentioned you're quite cute when you do that?

"Okay, I'll be the master and you two will be my slaves. I say something then you'll do it ne?" Sakura blabbers excitedly.

"Whatever." You nonchalantly answer.

And yet, you once again prove to me that you're a walking irony. While pretending to be deadpan, you seem rather happy to be playing with her.

"Now, for my first command… um…" she pensively looks around.

Suddenly, an idea crosses my mind.

I whisper something to Sakura and she cheerfully nods in agreement. "Okay!"

You look at me suspiciously and I simply smile at you innocently.

"Sensei, tell oniichan the secret you wanted to say." Sakura happily chirps, blissfully oblivious to what she had just told me to do.

"Alright. But, Sakura-chan, be a good girl and turn around." I ask her.

"Eh? But how do I know if you did what I told you to?" She asks, curiously tilting her head sideways.

"Now Sakura-chan, you trust me, don't you? And you can ask oniichan here to make sure if I did so. Fair enough?" I propose.

"Okay…" she reluctantly agrees.

"No peeking." I playfully warn.

Sakura gives me the kicked puppy look but nonetheless adheres obediently.

I walk closer to you and you instinctively move farther from me.

"Now, bouya, aren't we supposed to obey the master's orders?" I say as I lean over you on the bench.

I touch your cheek and you blush.

"I'm supposed to tell you my secret, but I feel like words just wouldn't do justice. So I figured… a kiss would be better."

And your blush deepens.

"You… wouldn't dare." You hiss angrily, glaring daggers at me.

"Perfect… you look a lot more adorable when you're angry… And you look more kissable when you're being cute like that." I tease you.

My head descends as your cheeks display another round of interesting shades of red.

And it wasn't long before my lips meet the soft, sweet ones below me.

~I Love You…~

Words I can't seem to say…

Words I feel I don't even deserve to think of telling you…

But…

The message it conveys… I mean it with all of my soul.

"How about you? How do you feel about me?" I ask as soon as I break away.

"I… I…" you say in the middle of your ragged breaths.

But the words I long to hear don't come out of your mouth.

"You hate me of course." I finish the sentence for you, feeling a deep pang in my chest.

"NO!" You suddenly burst out, taking me by surprise.

"I…. I don't know what I really feel about you." You say, eyes downcast, then you sigh and continue "I'm angry at what you did to me that night… and I loath what you still did to me afterwards… not to mention, even to my partner, but… hating you is… a different story." You hesitantly convey, your eyes filled with pain.

I stay silent for a very long while, letting what I just heard sink into my head, which seemed like a very hard task. Then I search your eyes. Honest… as always, you have such truthful eyes, just like the beautiful soul that they so reflect.

I caress your cheek and again ask.

"So… what do you feel about me?"

"I… honestly don't know." You disclose with a voice barely louder than a whisper.

And I heave a deep sigh. I look at you and once again drown at your endless pools of jade. But at least… somehow… I have the feeling that what I want isn't so impossible.

"Sakura-chan, let's go." And I take Sakura's hand to take her back to her house.

Now, I'm sure it can happen, because at least, you don't have that hatred towards me that I tried so hard to instill in you.

I'll wait… I promise… I know that day will come that you will say those words I want to hear.

Until then, I'll just continue to watch over you.

…my beautiful doll.

End!

=^w^= See? That's why I said forgive the horrible output didn't I?

So that's it for this mini trilogy. It was only written to hopefully open up the prospect of Hisoka and Muraki actually being 'something' and *not* hating each other… or at least not that much. Thanks a bunch for those who read all of it! =^^= Also, I noticed a few similarities in the plot. Trust me, that was accidental. ^^;; I didn't notice it until I reread all of them again and I was like… 'oh boy, I guess I really am a miserable writer'.

To those who reviewed 'Chance':

Elf Asato: Wo~w! Thank you so much! *glomp* I was beginning to think that you might get mad at me if you didn't like the fic even though it was written for you, so thank you so much for letting me know you liked it! *heart heart* =^^=

Twylise: Thanks! To know that someone actually liked my work really makes me happy. ^^

Midori Hitomi: It's your fault why I wrote this! XD Hehe… so yeah, again I say, forgive the horrible output. I'm an embarrassment to the fanfic world, I know. =T.T=

Mpath: Taken your breath away! Oh my… I hope you're still breathing… I didn't kill you, did I? XD XD XD Kidding. Thanks a bunch! Such nice comments really makes me sooo~ happy! ^^

Sere-chan: Well, here's the sequel. Liked it? Or not?

Kitty: Why thank you! ^^ I'm glad you think of it that way… honestly, I thought it was a baaad one. ^_^;;

Kirei Hikari: Thanks! ^^ Well, that's usually what others think. Well, just look at it this way, if Muraki plainly hated Hisoka, then why didn't he kill Hisoka (as shinigami) when he had a lot of opportunities, and the power, to do so? ^_~

Nami-chan: Heehee… ^^ well, here's the sequel. Sorry for waiting so long. ^_^;;

Nel: Well, the anime wasn't so bad… I think. But what really pissed me off is that Hisoka was kind of… made some kind of extra or something, which is sooo wrong because he is a MAIN character after all. The TsuzukixMuraki pairing was given waaay too much emphasis. That's only my opinion though. ^^;;

EmpressXu: Thank you so much! ^^ I'm glad that you liked it. Trust me, when I posted those two fics I expected flames, not reviews. Thank you for such kind comments. =^^=

Vulpick: Hehe ^^ Thanks a bunch! At least now I knot I'm not alone. LOL

Tsuzuki2001: O_o Ooohh… an original book huh? Ganbatte! You have all my support. Go for it! I'm actually hoping to work on one too… in my dreams! XD Hehe, if I work on a book people will probably throw it away before even reading it.

Master Dias: There, there. *pat pat* don't cry. ^^ Hisoka gets tortured a LOT… I know. (arrow to empath-chan: one of those blacklisted people who torture Hisoka in her fics) But usually he survives. Believe in Hisoka-chan, he has a very strong heart. ^_~

Yamatoforever: Well, sure! Your requested fics are in progress now and I hope you'll like them once I post them. ^_~

Ghost Doll: Well, here's the sequel. ^^ But I'm so sorry because it's open-ended… again. Don't worry though, I might write a companion fic in Hisoka's POV… if I get enough ideas.
