Author's Note: I've been reading a trilogy of books written by a Navy SEAL, so I came up with this little fanfic I wrote when I was bored. Hope you like it, but if you don't it's no biggie. Tell me what you think. Oh, yeah: I DON'T OWN HALO! However, this piece is my work.

The UNSC Navy SEALs

I leaped behind a rock, away from the pale blue mist plasma grenades omitted when activated. It exploded in a rush of sky blue light, then nothing more. I looked to my right and saw a crimson Elite a meter away.
The finger on the trigger of my assault rifle was faster than the Elite's movements. I sprayed automatic fire everywhere in a frenzied haze, anything to survive.
"Keitz!" I hollered to one of the petty officers. "Cover me!" Petty Officer Third Class Alex Keitz nodded in acknowledgement.
"Yes, sir!" he called after me.
I ran quite ignorantly into a group of two Jackals and three Grunts. I again showered my enemies with MA5B rounds. My heart pounded through my ears and my common sense screamed at me to take cover. But I was a United Nations Space Command Navy SEAL; obeying common sense was a foreign idea now.
The brick red Elite I had left wounded tried to sneak up behind me. Unfortunately for him, I had a small, square HUD over my right eye. And lest we forget PO3 Keitz's cover fire, which brought him down in a pool of his own violet blood.
When the group of Jackals and Grunts in front of me was eliminated by the combined force of Keitz, and myself I didn't breathe a sigh of relief.
I checked to make sure there were no more Covenant around, then motioned to my AOIC.
Ensign Luke Moore jogged to me, while the rest of the squad formed a small group.
"Nate?" he asked, wanting to know what I needed. I studied him for a moment. Luke and I had gone to SEAL training and OCS together. Under his helmet, he had short, brownish, sandy-colored hair, and vibrant green eyes, even in the face of combat and war.
"Any KIA or WIA?" I inquired.
"Not on our side," he grinned. I couldn't help but smile.
"Alright, then. Get your ass to the rest of the squad." I watched him run toward the others, then walked there myself. "Ok, guys," I began over the squad-wide COM channel. "Let's go save some Marines."
