Epilogue

Logan stood there at her grave. He laid white roses in front of her tombstone and stood there in silence. He buried Beatrix in the property of where they grew up. No one lived there anymore so it was the perfect place to lay his sister to rest.

“My memories of you a vague,” he said. “But I do remember us together as kids. We were both robbed. You being possessed and me undergoing that experiment……..it wasn’t fair. But I swear to you I will make my life more meaningful. I remember your kind heart. You always wanted to help people. I will do the same as an X-Man. I love you, sister.”

A tear escaped his eyes as he walked away from her grave. He would go back to Professor Xavier’s school for gifted youngsters and do his best to help in any way he could.

Rogue and Remy sat side by side in the garden observing the beautiful flowers Ororo had recently planted. It was time to rebuild from when the Sentinel attacked.

“Ah found out who mah new power belonged to,” Rogue said looking up at the sky.

“Who?” Remy asked.

“A woman named Carol,” she answered. “She’s dead now though. Ah guess that’s why Ah still have it.”

“Killed by Beatrix?” he said.

She nodded slowly and sighed. “Is it really over?” she asked looking at his red on black eyes. “That guy who made those Sentinels is dead now, Magneto is dead……..”

“Dat Mystique still be out dere, though,” he said. “Nah……..it ain’t over yet. But we have time to recover. Mystique won’t return until she has mo’ cronies.”

“Yeah,” she said leaning her head on his shoulders. “Until then…….let’s enjoy our tahme together.”

“Gambit been meanin’ t’ ask y’ something’, chere,” he said.

“Hmm?” she asked looking at him.

“Will y’ marry me?”

She smiled and placed her lips against his.

“Yes.”

Rogue and Remy were not the only ones planning to be married. Kurt and Ororo found a mutant friendly priest to marry them so that he would not have to hide behind his image inducer at his own wedding. It was not a big wedding. It was very simple just the way they wanted.

A couple months later Ororo would find out that she was pregnant. This made her and Kurt very happy for they wanted nothing more than to start a family. Gloria was very happy to have a niece or nephew coming. “I just hope zey don’t like like you!” she would say jokingly.

Gloria and Jason’s relationship went strong. They had not thought about getting married yet, but there was time for that later.

Yuriko left for Japan for unfinished business, but she promised Logan she would return once she had some things straitened out.

Jean and Scott got married immediately. He knew that now was the right time to marry her. After losing her once, he vowed he would never do it again. Jean later became pregnant with a baby girl her and Scott named Rachel.

It seemed like things were in order until Xavier found out something disturbing.

“I recently found the identity of the mutant who possessed Beatrix,” he said. “She is known only as Trinity. She a spirit who goes from one body to another trying to find a mutant strong enough to handle her spirit. She then uses that mutant to destroy humanity because she can not do it herself. She is neither dead nor alive. Just a wandering spirit of a mutant who was defeated hundreds of years ago.”

“Did she posses Beatrix because of her powers to steal mutant abilities?” Scott asked.

“Yes,” Xavier said. “Which means her next victim if she returns could most likely be……….”

Everyone looked at Rogue. Remy put his hand on her shoulder and she looked down at the floor. “Me,” she said.

Author’s Note: Well that’s the end. Or is it? I left it open for a sequel ‘cause there shall be one! Though it’s gonna be a while ‘cause I got three other stories to finish.
