Author of 6 Stories |
My second fic on Ami... I’ve finally had the time to write another one! Anyway I need reviews. Sorry about the grammar, never good at it, and sorry that you have to bear with it.
Oh, I’ve made some minor adjustments. I find the story to be really confusing and umm… a bit childish. So I am posting this revised edition and hope to hear from all of you. I still find the story rather juvenile tough, but it this the best that I can do.
Gone Again
********************
A small figure walked under the pale moonlight on the beach.
The sea was calm and the land breeze was very soothing, but every muscle in her body ached.
- I wish I had not joined in the fight. This is what you get for joining in a pillow fight with those girls Ami! -
A smile touched her lips as she thought of it. The constant screaming and laughing coming from the girls are enough to wake everyone up in the palace. Usagi, Rei, Makoto and Minako were all exhausted and fell asleep immediately, five minutes after they decided that it was enough for the night and after Queen Serenity had warned them.
Queen Serenity talked to them telepathically, telling the girls that they should have a rest and gave them a short preach. But Ami does not want to fall into slumber land yet, and left quietly out of the palace to the beach to enjoy the land breeze. She knows that she will not have any other chance to visit the beach at night as she will be packed with tasks to do for the next five days on earth, which starts from early morning till late at night. Thus, she will be too tired to do anything at night.
Ami had always thought the place was beautiful no matter how many times she’s been there.
- Earth is such a wonderful place. Wish I could visit here more often -
Stars ignite the black veil that covered the sky and Ami had walked farther than she intended to. Then something caught her eye. There is a narrow ridge of sand on her right.
- A spit. - she thought to herself.
Her eyes followed the ridge and saw that it is connected to a small island.
- Correction Ami, it is a tombolo, not a spit. Why am I saying this, does it even matters? -
It was late and she should be in her bed right now, sleeping… If she wants to have all the energy needed for tomorrow. But instead, she walked to the small island. She did not realize that the place was threateningly quiet, except for the sound of the waves hitting the shore.
Upon reaching the island, she sat on a big rock and began to hum a song. The song comes to her easily; she couldn’t remember exactly where she had heard it and she tried searching through her memories where she had once heard it. She then remembered that her mother used to sing her that song to put her to sleep. The very thought of her mother pained her. She was barely six years old when her mother died and her father died before she was born. The longing for her mother’s touch haunted her again, because she loves her dearly. Her emotion was whirling inside her and hot tears escaped her eyes and she broke down crying.
Ami wasn't at all aware of a tall figure coming towards her. He had been sitting under the coconut tree gazing at the open sea until she came and distracted him. He said nothing and made no movements. He just sits at his place, watching her walking and how her hair reminds him so much of the deep blue sea. He had always thought her to be very beautiful, but it is not her beauty that enchanted him, it is her… Her warm smile, her personality and her love are what had captured his heart.
Ami was still sobbing. He cannot bear to see her cry like this. He touched her shoulders and said "I am here my water sprite. Shhh… there is not need to cry."
She was not aware of his presence yet and but the sound of his voice soothed her. She turned and laid her head on his chest and her sobbing ceased.
"I'm afraid. I'm afraid that I will… I will lose you too. I don't want that. I don't want that," her heart ached at the thought of it.
"No you're not. You never will." Just after he uttered those words, he had a sudden premonition. He saw destruction… the destruction of the Moon Kingdom, of Queen Serenity… of iher/i. Ami lifted up her head and look at him in the eyes. He saw her eyes and only to lose himself in them. So full of love were they… and fear. He shrugged off the sudden feeling of foreboding not wanting to scare her.
"I promise you that you will never lose me." He said these words with difficulty, but he was able to take control of his voice to utter them. He wanted to chase the fear away, pull her out into the light and stop her from falling. He had never loved any woman as deeply as her and would spend even a short lifetime with her than to live all alone for eternity.
"I love you Ami."
"I love you too… Zoisite."
*********
Ami woke up from her sleep. Adrenaline rushed though her, increasing her heartbeat. She felt suffocated in the small tent and quickly went out to get some air. Her heart was still beating fast against her chest. She wasn't sure whether to call her dream a nightmare or not.
- I need to walk - she said to herself. Off she walks alone on the beach under the night sky leaving her friends who are still sleeping in their tents and had not noticed her missing.
*********
For the first time Zoisite experienced a dream. He had never dream before… Not after he was under Beryl's control and had lost all of his past memories. He tried to gain his balance and to stand up straight.
- A dream? Can't be -
His head hurts… he needs to get out from his chamber fast!
*********
Ami took a deep breath while walking down the beach; her mind was full of questions popping every second. Like a computer, her brain will crash any moment if she doesn’t stop asking all these questions to herself.
Out of the corner of her eyes, something caught her attention: a narrow ridge of sand, connecting the mainland to an island, just like in her dream.
- Coincidence? -
Without thinking long she walked along the narrow ridge of sand, slowly, taking her time. A part of her mind told her to go back; the other told her not to. Ami was curious about the small island and it was her curiosity that urged her to go on, and so she walked to the small island. When she got there she was surprised to see a rock. It was looked exactly like the rock in her dream.
- Nothing but coincidence Ami, don’t be a fool -
At the same time, a figure stood alone in the darkness, trying to hide under a coconut tree that was not far from the rock. He was there before her just like in his dream. His heart skipped at the sight of her, beating faster by just looking at the petite figure that stood alone on the beach. He then braved himself and walked out of his hiding place and slowly approached her.
Something in Ami told her to look behind. She suspected that he too would be there. Zoisite walked nearer and nearer towards Ami. A part of Ami’s mind screamed at her to henshin but another said not to. She turned and their eyes met. Those crystal clear emerald eyes looked at her with an expression that makes her heart twinge. They were so full of emotions and not the cruel eyes that she used to see. He on the other hand was drowning in the clear, blue eyes of hers.
Zoisite does not know of what to do. He simply stood there staring at her. Both of their hearts burned with pain and slowly he lifted up his hand to touch her cheek. It was smooth and it felt warm under his skin. A sudden wave of memories rushed through him and through Ami too. They saw glimpses of their past life on Earth and on the Moon and of the Moon Kingdom and its destruction. They saw how happy they once were, how they had loved one another, never wasting the little precious time when they were together.
- Ami…- Zoisite uttered it with obvious pain in his voice.
Ami’s eyes were flooded with tears and she embraced him and cries tears that flowed like a silver river. Zoisite too embraced Ami and hoped she would not pull away. The thought never crossed her mind because she too hoped he would not pull away. Without realizing it, a black hole appeared behind Zoisite. Two pairs of hands emerged from it and clutched Zoisite by his clothes and pulled him into the hole. Before Ami could react, both Zoisite and the hole disappeared.
- Nooooooooo! Not again! – Ami screamed in her head.
Her head felt so heavy. Dizziness took over her and all she could remember was those pair of emerald eyes before darkness crept in.
