Author Notes: THANK YOU!!!! To Rommie's Voice for letting me know about the
messed up formatting. Sorry about that. This is a Missing Scene fic. It
takes place during the episode Immaculate Perception between the scene
where Tyr tells Dylan that his son is dead and the final scene where he is
in his quarters comparing DNA samples.
OBSERVATION DECK
Dylan turned as he heard the door open.
Tyr walked in and moved toward Dylan. "You wanted to see me?"
"Yes, I've ordered Rommie to give you access to Drago's remains. I'm
trusting you not to try and remove them."
Tyr suspicions won't let him accept this out of hand, "Why?"
"Why am I giving you access or why am I trusting you?"
"Both."
"That's easy since both questions have the same answer. You're my friend."
"That's the short answer. It's the truth, but not the whole truth."
"And you want the long answer. Fair enough. I know that your son may have
been the genetic reincarnation of Drago. A year ago I wouldn't have
believed it possible, but after Telemachus, I know it is. I thought you'd
want to check, to know, even if your son is... gone."
"How did you learn of the possibility?"
"Doesn't matter."
"Yes, Sir, it does. To me."
"Trance. You know her and "possibilities". That means there is, was, a VERY
high probability. It also explains why the Genites were after the Orca."
"I'd thought the same thing. About the Genites."
"Great minds think alike?" Dylan commented with a grin.
Tyr smiled back. "Or well trained minds."
"Last time we... discussed Drago's remains I was angry. I could have
handled it better. Please consider this my apology. However, I did mean
what I said."
Tyr thought this over for a moment. "Accepted and understood. I didn't tell
you about the remains and you didn't tell me about the Nova bomb. I believe
that makes us even."
"I suppose it does at that."
After a few minutes of comfortable silence Tyr turned to leave. Just before
he reached the door he turned back and made eye contact with Dylan. "Thank
you." He spun on his heel and disappeared through the door.
Andromedas' holographic representation materialized almost immediately.
"Are you sure that was wise?"
"With Tyr I'm not sure about a lot of things. But he loved his son and he
is grieving for the loss. Even if it's only temporary. That I am sure of.
Besides, Tyr deserves to know. He isn't going to do ANYTHING to endanger
Dragos remains. That I'm also sure of, because they're his son's only hope.
And the remains ARE his, even if we have custody of them for the time
being."
"I see your point." Andromeda responded then looked off for a moment, "Beka
would like you to come to the Bridge."
"Tell her I'm on the way," Dylan instructed as he stood and headed for the
door.
