Background: This story happens after Love Hina Again. Naru and Keitaro got married and are in their second year at Toudai. They moved out of Hinatasou, leaving Kanako in charge of the inn until a suitable kanrinrin can be obtained. Motoko is now eighteen years old and decided to return to Kyoto to become the leader of Shinmeiryuu clan.
Disclaimer: I do not own any part of Love Hina, so there!
WHAT IS TRUE STRENGTH, MOTOKO?
Prologue:
A strong blast of ki sent me flying onto one of the walls inside the dojo. In a split second my back hit solid concrete and I fell helplessly onto the floor, unable to stand anymore.
" That is no good, Motoko," my sister said calmly as my opponent, one of the elders in our clan, helped me stand up. This was the first of ten opponents that I must defeat in order to become the leader of our clan, but I already lost three times in a row to him.
" What is true strength, Motoko? Where does it come from? How can you find it?" my sister went on. I had no answer for her.
Just a few days ago I had a big argument at Hinatasou with Kanako. She was putting out those strict rules again and I really couldn't stand the fact that she was so uncaring towards everyone. Urashima is gone, Naru- sempai is gone, even the happiness is taken away by Kanako! There was nothing at Hinatasou worth remembering, so I ran away back to Kyoto in hopes of accomplishing my dream.
" Do you remember the time when you sealed the cursed sword? That time, you displayed true strength, but where is it now? Your skills have dulled and your concentration almost completely lost!" she continued.
" Sorry," I muttered. I never found true strength before. I was just lucky when I sealed the cursed sword. If not for Urashima who I pushed towards Naru-sempai, it would be impossible for me to seal the sword. I am not worthy of being the heir to the Shinmeiryuu School. I'm not even worthy for the sword.
" Now go back to Hinatasou," my sister ended, " and don't come back until you've found true strength."
I wanted to protest, but I knew it would lead to no avail. When my sister says something, she really means it, and she would never change her mind.
I sadly walked out of the wooden doors carrying my sword and the few belongings I possessed. I would come back one day, I promised to myself, and that day would be the time I inherit the dojo.
I could imagine myself walking up the stairs to Hinatasou. Will the girls still accept me when I go back?
Motoko Aoyama: So, that was the prologue, hope you liked it! Please give me some feedback since I have a feeling that the Motoko in this story is kind of weird compared to the one from the anime. Thank you for reading! Please, please, please review! (Falls onto my knees as I beg for reviews.) Ja ne!
