Disclaimer: I don't own Sony or Square or diddly-shit, just in case anyone asks, specifically the FBI. Anywho, this here is another story by yours truly. Another attempt at humour; I was inspired to write this by a story called Warped in the FF9 fanfic section at . The plot is simple: by some weird happenings, I end up falling into a new game of FF8 and have to act out the story with the characters, if you see what I mean. This story will contain lots of tidbits about me (not everything is true, however) so this is a good way to learn about me. Not like any of you want to, but anyway. Here we go! Enjoy!

Chappy Uno: The Accident

I have begun to hate September weather, with its annoying habit of being sunny one minute and pouring rain the next. Of course, I get screwed over. The minute I get off the bus, it starts pissing down rain like there's no tomorrow. And, of course, I just had to wear a white t-shirt to school that day, so you know where I'm going there. That'll give the other kids on the bus a show, that's for sure.

I reach home a couple minutes after that, but thanks to my habit of crossing my arms in front of my chest, no peep show for anyone who might happen to look. I am the first one home, as usual. My parents left me a note, saying they had to work late that evening, along with the usual stuff: just make a sandwich for supper, no parties or long-distance phone calls, and stay away from all matches and pointy objects. Yup, typical parent warnings.

Considering how crappy my day has been, I figure I deserve a treat. I go into the kitchen and start digging around in the freezer for the chocolate chip ice cream my mother had bought the other day. I retrieve the large bucket and set about scooping a huge amount of it into a bowl as I think about my crappy day. First my music teacher yelled at me for not paying attention, then my English teacher yelled at me for not getting my homework done, and finally, my best friend and I got in a fight. I forget why, but she's probably gonna be mad at me for the next few days.

"Life sucks." I mutter, heading downstairs to my room and my Playstation2. Ah, my Playstation2, my dear electronic friend that provides me with many hours of entertainment. Bowl of ice cream in hand, I settle onto my bed and try to figure out what to play. Gazing over my vast collection (that's sarcasm, by the way) my eyes linger on Final Fantasy 8, the first Final Fantasy in which the characters don't look like disgruntled midgets. That's always a winner. Screw my math homework, Squall is calling to me.

I had erased my very-end-of-the-game save file a couple days back, so my only option was to start a new game. I pop CD 1 into my PS2 and proceed to start the new game. The prologue cutscene comes on, starting with the water and the beginning of one of the best songs from the whole game, Liberi Fatali.

"Ooh, pretty." I respond as I watch it, my slightly slow mind clocking in as much as it could. The whole Rinoa and Squall back and forth thing, Squall and Seifer fighting and giving each other scars, and finally, Rinoa falling into Squall's arms.

It's when the Final Fantasy 8 logo shows up when it starts getting weird.

The normal Squall and Rinoa motif fades onto the screen as usual, but the lights in my room dim slowly, which is weird, because not only have I not done anything to the lights, I don't have a dimmer switch. Then I start feeling funny, kind of like I'm about to faint. I close my eyes briefly, and open them when I start feeling wind whooshing past me. I'm blasting down a tunnel that appears to be made of computer chips and binary.

"What the hell?" I cry as I zip past the numerous ones and zeros. "What, am I in the Matrix now or something?"

I keep my eyes peeled for Neo or Morpheus but I don't see them, obviously. I continue rushing down this tunnel, heading towards God knows where. And I can't help it: I'm freaked.

"Mommy!!!!" I squeal, closing my eyes. When I open them, I see that I'm fast approaching a light, a beacon at the end of the tunnel.

"Great." I mutter to the computer chips beside me. "I'm dead." The chips didn't respond.

I realize then that I'm speeding up, and also that I can hear something: music, to be specific. And to be even more specific, it's the world map music from Final Fantasy 8. Now that's weird.

"Aaaaaah!!!!!!!" I scream as I finally reach the light, squeezing my eyes shut, and then covering them with my hands for added effect.

For about 5 seconds, all I can see is white. Then I land on something soft. 'Fwump' is the only word I could use to describe the sound I make.

The light fades from around me, so I open my eyes. I'm lying on my back, staring at something big and blue. The sky. How the hell would I be able to see the sky from my bedroom? I wonder.

I sit up and look down at myself, and see two things that are wrong. For one, I'm sitting on soft emerald grass as opposed to my fluffy bed. For another, I'm not wearing the same clothes as I had been. Instead of the big gray sweatshirt I had pulled on over my white t-shirt and my black jeans, I'm now wearing a tight red tank top, baggy blue jeans with lots of pockets, and black shoes. Plus my hair is up in a bun, kind of reminiscent to Rikku's hairstyle from FFX. And the biggest change of all? A big belt is looped around my waist, and attached to this belt are two holsters, and in each holster is a pistol!!!! I pull each gun out. They're identical, I notice, and 100% real. I fire each one to make sure.

I holster them again and gaze around. There is a forest near by, a big cave too. Both were right in front of me. To my right, I could see, well, the sea, or something like it. And then I look to my left, and almost pass out.

It's Garden. Yes, GARDEN. Perched in its original place, with a road leading in from it to Balamb, which lies a few miles behind me.

I stand up groggily, like someone who hasn't had enough sleep, and stare at Garden. This isn't right; it's almost like I'm actually in Final Fantasy 8. Maybe I am! But if I am, how the hell did I get here, and how will I get back?

"Hi Maggie." I hear behind me. I spin around quickly and see a girl standing there, a young girl of only about six or seven, with blonde hair in pigtails and bright green eyes.

"Who are you and how do you know my name?" I ask warily, reaching for my guns as if on instinct.

The girl grins. "Well, for one thing, I know you because I see you almost everyday, and I am yours for the naming."

"What?" I ask, "How do you know me? I've never seen you before."

"I am your PS2." She explains it as though it's completely normal. "Or rather, I'm the entity of your PS2 that brought you here."

"You're my PS2?" I ask incredulously.

She nods.

"Then why am I here, exactly?"

"Well, you said your life sucks, and I heard you." She replies. "So I figured if I brought you in here it'd give you a nice change of pace."

"But, but." I stammer, trying to figure out what to say. "I want to go back!"

"No no no" She says, shaking her head. "You can only leave if you help the group conquer this game, right till they beat Ultimecia, and then you can leave."

"But my parents." I tell her. "They'll miss me!"

She shakes her head again. "No, from now till when you beat the game, only five or ten minutes will pass in your world."

I still have a ton of questions. "But won't Squall and them know I don't belong here?"

"Don't you worry. I have everything worked out. You'll see." She points up to the Garden. "Anyway, now you should head up to Garden. At this very minute, Squall and Quistis are just leaving the health center, and you have homeroom with Squall and Seifer, so hurry. Don't forget, you have your guns to protect you. And you'll get a GF from your workstation. Good luck." And, with that, she disappears.

I turn back and stare at Garden, only about one hundred meters away. I couldn't believe it: I was actually here, in Final Fantasy 8. I would have to work together with Squall, Rinoa and the others. I would have to defeat the sorceresses, bosses, and lots of other nasty things. And I'd have to learn how to draw magic from enemies and how to junction GFs. And I'd have to figure something out for a limit break.

So, as I gaze upon my future, I realize that I've never wanted to go home more.

~Ok, first chappy done! Yay! How was it? Good? Extraordinary? So-so? Bad? Craptacular? How about reviewing this thing to tell me what you think? Well, for a warning, the chappys that follow are going to be oozing spoilers from every orifice, so if you want the game to be a total surprise when you play it, don't read any upcoming chappys. Another thing: I'm gonna have to change the storyline a bit to put me in there. So that's another warning. Well, I hope you like this. Review please? More to come! (Kupopo!) ~KupoKrazy
