Disclaimer: I don't own Star Ocean 2, I, however, do own my two characters (their personalities, at least)
Infiny: This chapter takes place in Salva… the bar/pub to be exact. The two are actually nameless extras found there, the "Young man" is Alex and the "Bartender" is Zed. Yep… On with it.
NOTE: All my other fics are on hiatus, I'm gonna try to update my YGO fics my the end of next month, I DO get a week off in October. *nods* Anyway, this will probably be updated every Sunday, unless I'm writing more than the average chapter (I'm going to try to go for atleast a page and a half [I'm so lame] for norm chapters) or I get stuck.
From A to Z
The Adventures of Alexander and Zed
Prologue
Eyelids, shielded by rose pink colored bangs, drooped steadily… Lazy amethyst eyes closed, ready to be claimed by sleep… All was perfect in the world, as sleep was a few moments away… Until
"Zed!" An overexcited voice shouted with glee.
Zed let out an exasperated sigh and opened his eyes once more, this time to look upon his grinning friend, Alexander. "What is it, Alex?" he asked grumpily, a bit angry with the other boy for interrupting his sleep.
"You wouldn't guess what I found!" Alex told Zed. Then soon continued on, ignoring Zed's murmur of 'What? A life?' "I've got a map of the continent, including all the caves riddled to contain valuable treasure…" Alex finished, brown eyes shimmering with a golden glitter.
"And let me guess… You want me to come with you?" Zed asked and, after receiving a nod, sighed again.
"Please? It'd be no fun by myself, plus you need to get out this place! I think it's obvious that you need a break, and what's better than to have it with your best friend?" Alex pleaded. Seeing as Zed still looked uncertain, he quickly added, "Besides… I could, uh… get mugged or something!"
Zed frowned for a second, while Alex smiled, the sea-green haired boy knew he had won. Zed cared for the other boy as an older brother would his younger sibling, so he certainly wouldn't let his "younger brother" get hurt.
After a few moments came a "Fine…"
"Yippie!" Alex reached over the counter to grab Zed in a hug… well… more like a glomp.
"Yea, yea, yea… you know… that counter IS there for a reason…" Zed told him.
"And what reason would that be?" Alex asked as he released Zed and pulled back.
"To protect the overly cute bartender from being glomped by his loyal fans." Zed replied smirking, "Half the people in this bar come here just to see me…"
"Loyal fans… riiiiiight," Alex said walking towards the door. He called over his shoulder, "Get ready! We're gonna leave tomorrow!"
Zed nodded, releasing a part of his bangs that had been imprisoned behind his ear. "See ya… Alex," He heard a 'Bye!' from his hyper active friend and soon the door closed. Zed glance at the clock on the opposing wall… 6:46 p.m.
Zed set his arms on the table, slightly crossed, and lay his head on them. He closed his eyes listening to the sounds of loneliness through out the bar… Now would be a good time to catch up on his sleep, Cassie would be coming a few hours…
