As the glow gets brighter, I can't help but think; it's been...Nine years.
And just as the glow is blindingly bright, I hear the head's distinctive voice ringing out; "Actually, now it's ten."
"CRAP!"
And everything goes white.

I feel so tired all of a sudden.... It's so hard to open my eyes...why can't I? What...what happened? My eye cracks open, and as soon as this is done, a shiver rolls down my spine, prickling it with thousands of sharp, painful needles. I think I'm gonna throw up...
I turn my head, as I felt something about to come up. I begin to retch, my throat searing, but nothing happening other than that. Whatever it is in my stomach needs to come up and be done with it! I want to yell, to scream out in utter torment, my entire being ached with such tremendous force, I wanted to curl up and die. I wanted to make the pain stop. Do ANYTHING to make it stop! Oh, gods! I rasped, my throat dry and hoarse, from what, I'm not sure. My stomach was refusing to quiet down, and I wanted nothing more than to vomit and shut it up.
I am ripped out of my thoughts, when I hear something that sounded like a gasp. "Who," a voice asked from somewhere began, "Who are you?" the voice, male I'm guessing, asked. I turned to see a boy around twelve or thirteen, staring at me, his clear violet eyes widening with what looked to be horror. What?
A scream escaped his lips as he stumbled backwards, almost loosing his footing. Unfortunately, he wasn't able to keep it either, and fell down, but still continued to stare at me with sheer terror in his features, his mouth wide, as well as his eyes. I was worried, and reached a hand out to him, to see if he was all right, when he suddenly yelped again. "Get away!" he begged, and threw his hands up, shielding himself. With his face covered, I could see a rather large mop of tri-colored hair that seemed vaguely familiar for some reason....
I gasped and fell onto my stomach, my arms failing me once more. It hurt to move, gods did it hurt...
I suddenly felt something on my back, and someone trying to help me up. I opened one of my eyes slowly, and looked up into the clouded eyes of the child before me. He was holding me up so my face was away from the ground. I felt so helpless in that moment, more then I have in....I don't know...What happened to me? Where am I?
"You...You're in my room," he whispered to me, and it was then that I realized that I had asked those out loud.
"Why?" I rasped, my throat feeling as though it was on fire.
"Why what?" the other asked, almost timidly, but I could see plain concern in his eyes.
"Why does it hurt so much?" I asked pleadingly, needing to know anything...
"I...There's blood everywhere. I don't know what happened, but it looks like you've got a head wound...and your clothes are....are wet with it." he said the last part with his eyes closed, almost afraid to look. Blood?
I move my head enough to glance down, seeing that what he said was in fact true; my arms and shirt were covered in it, and now that I realize this, I feel something sticky and damp all over my forehead and hair. What did happen? Did I lose my memory?
"I-It's going to be okay! I'll get you help, don't worry," he told me quickly, and tried with all his might to lift me up, which he succeeded in, surprisingly, and slowly, one difficult step at a time, made his way to the soft-looking bed in the middle of the room, pressed up against the wall. I blacked out for a second, but when I came to, my vision was blurry. He was waving his hands in front of my face, probably to see if I was still with him. When he took his hand away, there was crimson everywhere. I feel really sick...
I blacked out once more, and when I did come to this time, I felt...cleaner. I slowly lifted one of my arms, and looked at it. There were sterile, white bandages wrapped tightly, but loose enough to allow conformability. The blood had been cleaned off, and I looked much better, I could tell. I moved that arm and touched my hand to my forehead, and realized that was also wrapped. What? I blinked again, and closed my eyes.
"Are you awake?" I hear a familiar voice ask. I open my eyes once more and see the boy from before sitting on the edge of the bed, blinking at me curiously, and with worry.
"I--" was all I could get out before a wave of dizziness hit me. I think I'm going to throw up again....
I bent over the side of the bed, and started retching once more, nothing coming out. Just like before. Why couldn't I just get it up? Gods, I just felt so sick...
I began coughing painfully, my body shuddering violently. I faintly felt a hand on my shoulder, and my eyes drifted over to see the young boy looking like he was on the verge of calling an ambulance. I probably needed one, with the way I felt.
After my little 'fit', I felt a little better, but at the same time, a little worse. It's hard to describe... I feel better after being done with whatever-the-hell that was, but my body hurt in ways that it shouldn't.
"Thank you," I mumble as coherently as I could to him. He took me in, and bandaged me, cleaned me up, and.... And he saved my life....
He smiled as reassuring as he could to me. "It's fine," he says, and then tilts his head to the side. "You're feeling better then? Because you kept falling unconscious earlier..." He trails off after that.
Why am I here? I wonder, and he looks at me again. "I don't really know." he starts, "Do you remember who you are? You're name? That was a pretty bad head injury...You might have amnesia." he says, and then turns his head, thinking. It seems as though I have trouble thinking to myself...
This is pretty strange, now that I think about it. This boy was too terrified to even come close to me earlier, and now he's acting like I'm a person who's not in the least bit scary.
"Why were you scared of me?" I asked, trying to make conversation.
He looks at me again and his eyes cloud over a bit. "Well...I was just sitting in my room, playing cards, and then.... Well, you just kinda.....Were here, and you were covered in so much blood, it scared me. I didn't know what you were of what happened...And...I panicked. But then you collapsed, and I realized you were in pain. I...You just startled me real bad, I'm sorry," he apologized.
He's apologizing. I cannot believe it... Wait...So I...I just 'appeared in his room'? What the hell?
"And...you kind of got to me with the way you look..." the blood? "No, not the blood...." Damnit...I need to stop thinking out loud. "Uh.....Are you alright?"
"Sorry," I mumbled, suddenly really tired. My head sunk heavily into the pillow, my eyes closing. I was so relaxed, and almost all my pain had vanished. I had started to drift off, when a sudden, blaring noise rang loudly in my ears. My eyes shot open and I yelped, shooting up in the bed, and looking around frantically, despite how much it hurt.
"What the hell is that noise?!" I scream, then flush, realizing I was overreacting, and the younger teen was in the bed next to me, sleeping soundly. How can he sleep through that?! I look up and see that there's something blinking the numbers; "6:30am" in red glowing lines. I raised my eyebrow. I know what that thing is. It's making the noise! But...Why can't I remember what it's called...?
The boy reaches a lazy hand up and shuts off the damnable thing, before I was about to throw it out of the room, to make it stop. He grumbled something and rolled over, into my side.
I hissed and jerked back. His skin was flaming hot! It felt like it was burning at my side! I look down, but there's no physical mark left by it... What just happened? As I continue looking at my body, I notice the bandages were still wrapped around me, and I just now noticed my shirt was gone...
I was ripped out of my thoughts, when I heard a voice calling out, which startled me out of my skin, to say the least.
"Yuugi?! Did you just turn off your alarm?! You'd better be getting up!" the voice was muffled by the door and it sounded like it was far away, like at another part of the house. Wait...house? I remembered what something was! Maybe I was getting over that whole amne...whatever thing!
Wait again...If there was another voice, then wouldn't that mean there's another person here? What if he sees me and freaks out?! Did-- I'm cut off thinking when the boy rolls over and faces the door, though his eyes are still shut tightly. "No grandpa, I'm up!" he called back, his speech garbled by being half asleep. As soon as he says this, I hear a soft snore, telling me that he's once more gone from this plane of consciousness.
...Why hasn't he seemed to notice me? I shrug it off; maybe he was too tired.
Suddenly, the door slammed open and I jumped and looked frantically at it. There was an old man standing there, his hair like the boy's only gray, and his eyes were old and had a look of aged wisdom. His skin was tanned and wrinkly, making him look years older than he probably was. But his looks weren't what scared me, his voice was.
"Yuugi! Get up!" he said, with a slight smile on his face. I had jumped and was ready to dart away, but it seems he didn't even see me....What? I... I gasp. My...my name! My name is Yuugi! I remember it! Wait...this man was talking to me?! I quickly tried to get off the bed, but it hurt so much...
I managed to after a few moments and stood in front of the man, waiting for him to say anything. Obviously the boy told him about me, and that's why he's not scared of a total stranger being in his, well, I'm assuming his grandson's room. But how did he know my name??
The man stared past me and walked over to the bed with a sigh. I just gaped. What the hell is going on? He began shaking the kid awake, his eyes snapping open sharply. "I'M UP!" he shouted comically, and fell of the bed, lading in a tangled mess. "Owwie..." he muttered, and began rubbing his head.
I would have smiled at these antics, had I not been so confused. "Would someone mind explaining to me what's the fuck's going on?!" I screamed. I hadn't meant to, and quickly covered my mouth. That was incredibly rude.
But....They ignored me. "Yuugi, you do this every day!" the old man said, resting his hands on his hips. I just noticed that I'm taller than him...
"Grandpa~!" the boy whined. What....But...I thought my name was.....Then.... I sunk down to my knees, being overwhelmed. Where was I? I asked the sky, almost pleadingly but received no answer. I just listened to the conversation, not saying anything.
"I had the weirdest dream, though!" he said, looking up at the older man, who raised an eyebrow at this.
"Really?" he asked and helped his grandson up. "Was it a bad one?"
"I...I dunno, really. It was so confusing..." the boy, Yuugi apparently, answered, rubbing the back of his head.
The older set a hand on his shoulder. "Like how?" he asked, looking interested....kinda. And I just sat against the wall, being ignored.... I just stared blankly at them, waiting for someone to notice me.
"Well....I was in my room, playing cards, like usual," Yuugi began, his violet eyes getting this look of remembrance. "And then...I heard something, and looked over, and there was this guy who looked like me!" he said and pointed to his hair, "He even had my hair! And violet eyes!" he said and nodded, then looked as if he was trying to recall the rest. But...Didn't he find me last night? My eyes widened as I leaned in closer, so I could hear better.
"Really?" the older asked, slightly surprised sounding. "Who do you think it could have been?" he asked, blinking down at the younger.
"Well...I don't know. That's just it. But, he was covered in blood! I was scared, and I tried to get away, but then I realized he was just hurt really badly. So I helped him. He had a head injury, and I think he might've had amnesia or something, but he looked older than me, after I cleaned him up. And...Uh..." Yuugi glanced up at his grandfather, and blushed slightly. "You think I'm crazy, don't you?" he asked, ducking his head.
The gray-haired man smiled kindly. "No, if you are, then I would be as well. I think you had a strange dream, that's all," he answered and started to get up, but Yuugi grabbed his shirt.
"But it didn't feel like a dream! It felt so real! I could even smell the blood!" he said, as if trying to make the other believe him.
The old man turned and smiled again. "Dreams do feel real sometimes, Yuugi. Come on, you're mother* made breakfast, get up before it gets cold." he said and left the room.
Yuugi nodded to himself and got off the bed, pulling up his pajama pants. "But....it felt so real....It wasn't a dream..." me murmured to himself quietly. He shook his head as if he were scorning himself for being silly. He stopped, blinked and sniffed the air. His eyes suddenly lit up. "Pancakes!" he hissed happily and ran out of his room with lightning speed.
...
I just remained sitting, tired and confused...
...
A....dream? That's all I was, all I am? Is a nonexistent figment of someone's unconscious mind?
I sighed, my throat tight, and turned my head away, something burning my eyes. I lifted my hand up and noticed there was water there. I remember this was called something... I inhaled, and rested my head on my arms and let these drops of water fall down at their own will.
