Chapter Two
A Treasure Planet Fanfiction by Yami Shizuka
Disclaimer: (sigh) I don’t even own this laptop I'm writing this on…(I don’t own anything…)
Author’s Note: Woot new chapter! What you reviewers have been waiting for, ne? It’s 6:23 AM…not tired at all either (big smile).
Okay, I understand that another one of my chapter titles in another story is called Missing but you’ll understand why when you read this chapter (angst warning!). Enjoy and review please!
Yami Shizuka
“So Morph, care to explain?” Silver asked. He had dragged Jim all the way back to his apartment and changed him into dry clothes. The boy was now resting in Silver’s bedroom whilst he and Morph were out in the small living room. Silver crossed his arms. “I’m waiting Morph,” he said.
Morph burbled for a bit, trying his best to recount the past couple of years to Silver. He looked up expectantly and sighed as he saw a blank look on Silver’s face.
“Morph…oh forget it, I’ll ask Jimbo later,” he said. “Now come ‘ere Morphy, it’s been so long!” Morph gratefully obliged, rubbing affectionately against Silver’s face (a/n: …Silver/Morph… BWAHAHA!).
A hooded figure slipped into the bedroom to find Jim under the covers, his body looking small and frail next to the richly colored blankets. “This’ll be easy,” the figure muttered to itself. It pulled out a knife and approached the bed. The figure plunged the knife deep into the thick covers and Jim let out a hoarse scream that was quickly muffled by the figure’s hand.
The figure never expected Jim to bite down and bite down Jim did, enough to draw blood and to cause the figure to stumble back. Jim quickly got out of the bed, grabbing the knife as he did so, and backed away. There was a small wound on his chest and he was thankful for the blankets being so thick.
“Where am I?” he demanded. “Why have you taken me here and what have you done with my clothes?” He was only dressed in an overly large white shirt that was now becoming stained with blood. He looked like a ghost, so gaunt and pale, but his cerulean eyes remained cold and alert.
“This isn’t my doing,” the figure replied. “I am merely here to end your life. That knife is coated with poison; the potent formula is already coursing through your bloodstream, you’ll die sooner or later.” The figure then lunged toward Jim who swiped at it with the knife. There was a hiss of pain as both fell back. The hooded figure was now bleeding from a deep wound in its chest and there was another big bruise forming on Jim’s battered cheek.
“Now you’re poisoned too,” Jim said, his breathing now ragged.
“Fool! I’m immune to it!” the figure cackled, reminding Jim of the villains from his old childhood storybooks.
Suddenly he threw the knife and smiled as it landed deeply into the hooded figure’s shoulder. The figure stumbled back and began to disappear right before Jim’s eyes. “I’ll be back, just you wait,” it said and then it was gone.
Jim stood there for a second before realizing that someone was pounding on the door. “HEY OPEN UP! WHAT’S GOING ON?”
Jim fell back into a stance just as the door burst open to reveal a large man. “Jimbo?” he asked and Jim felt a sharp pain go through his body, pushing him to his knees. “Jimbo!”
Jim tried to flinch away as the man pulled him to his feet. ‘It must be the poison,’ Jim thought gravely.
“Jimbo what do ya think yer doin? What happened in here-blimey lad! You’re bleeding!” the man, quickly pulled Jim to the bed and tended to the wound and changed him.
“What are you doing?” Jim asked after he was done. “Who are you?”
The man laughed. “Why, don’t ya remember me? It’s Silver!”
Jim stiffened and pulled away. “Silver?”
“Yes Silver!”
Jim backed away quickly; panic spreading through him like wildfire. All he could stare at now was Silver’s cybernetic eye, the orange glowing eye. Jim’s eyes went wide and he barely felt himself hit the wall of the room.
“Jimbo, what’s the matter with ya?” Silver asked, coming forward.
“Stay away!” Jim growled. His vision suddenly shifted to the side and he found the ground rushing toward him. He saw the man reach out for him and he tried to roll away, but a sharp pain through his chest stopped him from moving. The last thing he saw was that horrific orange cybernetic eye, a silent scream caught in his throat as he slowly faded away into unconsciousness.
“There’s something someone’s not telling me,” Silver mused as he gently tucked Jim back into bed. (a/n: by the way, I did end up staying up all night and I wanna do it again…which I probably will)
