Hello, this is my first shot at a poem. So please don't flame me. This is a poem about one of our favorite characters…Botan! Well, enjoy!

I longed to fly,

Across the sky.

To float above,

Like the dove.

To see the stars close at night,

And to travel without fright,

To soar above the clouds at day,

And fly over a sea or bay.

To get away and leave that ground,

To leave this earth to which I was bound.

Someday I knew I'd fly,

While the others I loved cry.

As I soared toward the clouds, to never return,

I looked down for the final time and felt my stomach churn.

Then I knew I wouldn't return,

And I wish I had not flown away,

I had no idea, that someday,

I would be ferrying others away.
