Hmm, another one of those 'thought up in a quick flash of intelligence' fics. But, I am going to try this at a, new angle, shall we say. So, this is my little contribution of the great holiday known as Halloween. Anyways, this is in Matt's POV. Rated for certain parts, sexual references, and some other stuff. What? If I told you, there wouldn't be anything left to make the story. Ok, here we go!

**************************************************************************** **

Normally, I'd be receiving some strange looks from people because I was humming "This is Halloween" from the movie, Nightmare Before Christmas. But, since it IS Halloween, I was pardoned and ignored. I walked up to my apartment and shut the door behind me. It was absolutely freezing outside, but I had to go and get the last few things for a costume I didn't even want to wear. Hmm, let me fill you in. My friend Mimi is having a Halloween party tonight, and we're all suppose to be dressed up in costume. I had the perfect outfit too: Spider-Man. Don't ask, I just happened to like Spider-Man as a kid. But unfortunately, my best friend had a...different idea.

~*~ Flashback ~*~

Right away, I knew I shouldn't have picked up the phone. But, I did anyway.

"Hey Tai." I said into the receiver.

"Hey Yama, did you get Mimi's invite to her party?"

"Duh. Did you?"

"Of course."

"Ok, just get it over with."

"Get what over with?" As if he didn't know.

"You want me to do something. What is it?" I sighed.

"I feel so offended, Matt. You think the only reason I call is to ask you favors. Can't a guy just talk to his friends without them assuming they want something?" He sounded so sad and sincere.

"Tai, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to accuse you of anything."

"Good, because I have something to ask you." I sweatdropped and rolled my eyes.

"What?"

"Well, got an outfit yet?" He asked me.

"Spider-Man."

"Are you serious?"

"Yea, why?"

"Just too...blah."

"Excuse me?"

"Not that there's anything else wrong with Spider-Man. But, I have a better idea."

"Do I want to know? Wait, what are you going as?" I asked him before he got too far ahead of himself.

"Thing One."

"What?"

"Thing One. Haven't you ever read The Cat in the Hat?"

"...I knew I shouldn't have asked. So what does this have to do with me and my outfit?"

"Well, everyone knows you can't have Thing One and Two without the Cat in the Hat..." he trailed off. Then it clicked.

"No. N-O Taichi. I'm NOT going as that cat."

~*~ End Flashback ~*~

So now I'm being forced to go as that cat. The things I do for that boy...he has NO idea. I sighed and dumped my bag of stuff on my bed. I glanced at my clock and saw that it was now 5:30pm. I had an hour and a half to get ready before Tai was coming to pick me up. I walked out of the room and into the bathroom, where the shower was calling my name.

"Might as well start here." I said to myself and shut the door behind me.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ *

I was just putting the finishing touches on my outfit when the doorbell rang. I looked at the clock and cursed under my breath.

"The one time he's actually punctual and I don't want him to be." I muttered to myself as I walked out and opened the front door.

"Hey, ready to roll?" He asked me, leaning against the doorframe. I was about to reply when I looked up. And my jaw dropped. Tai gave me a confused look, and then rolled his eyes upwards. He finally understood and grinned.

"Like it?" He asked me. I didn't say anything and just gapped at it. He had dyed his hair an electric blue color. All of it.

"Oh my god..." I trailed off.

"Well, I like it. Oh man, you're not even done yet!" He exclaimed and dragged me back inside of my house. He was right, I wasn't ready. I was wearing a black and furry catsuit with a white patch of "fur" on the chest and stomach area, white gloves, and that was about as far completed as I got. Then I had my red bowtie on my wrist, to be attached to my neck later, one white shoe on, my cat ears were on, and I had half of my face painted white with black whiskers. Tai pushed me onto the bed and grabbed the brush and white paint.

"Why weren't you ready?" He asked me as he applied the paint to the bare half of my face.

"I didn't know you would actually be early." I replied while I tried to put on the tie. Tai plucked it out of my hands and placed it beside him.

"Stop fidgeting so I can finish." He said as he grabbed the eyeliner to create my whiskers. I sat still while I let him work. I could feel his smooth fingers run across my face as he blended in the make-up to the paint. And, it actually felt...nice. I can't really describe it, but I liked it. And I could feel my lips form into a pout when he stopped. He, however, didn't notice and attached my tie on my neck.

"Come on, let's go. We're going to be late." He said as he bounced off of my bed and ran towards the door. A very Thing One and Tai thing to do. I shook my head, grabbed my red and white-stripped hat off of the bedpost, and followed him outside and down to his mom's car. We crawled into the back seat and buckled up.

"About time you guys came back." Kari said from the front seat.

"Don't even start, Kari." Tai shot back.

"That's enough guys." Ami cut in. Ami, I should mention, is Tai and Kari's mom. She lets me call her Ami though, so go figure. (A/N: I just figured out a name. I happen to like it.)

"So how long are you guys going to be gone?" Ami asked as she drove to Mimi's house.

"It ends at midnight, but I'm just gonna go home with Matt. Is that ok?" Tai asked his mom and me at the same time.

"That's fine, just next time ask before-hand." She sighed as she pulled up to Mimi's house.

"Have fun. Kari, am I picking you up?" Ami asked.

"Nope, I'm going to Yolei's afterwards."

"All right. See you later."

"Bye mom." The Kamiya kids waved.

"Thanks for the ride, Ami." I said and climbed out of the car.

"No problem, Matt. Have a good time." Ami waved and drove away. We walked up to the front door and rang the bell. I re-adjusted my hat and slipped on my cat-eye black glasses frames.

"Stop playing with your costume!" Tai said as he slapped my hand away. I glared at him half-heartedly and dropped my hands to my sides. The door was soon opened and the porch was flooded with light.

"Hey guys, about time you showed up!" Mimi said and pulled all three of us inside. Mimi was wearing a short green dress, white tights, white sparkly wings, and her hair was pulled into a bun.

"Tinker Bell?" Kari asked.

"Finally someone gets it the first time!" Mimi grinned. "And you make the perfect angel Kari!" She squealed. She was right, Kari was perfect. Gold halo, pinkish shimmery wings, and...a short white dress? Well, a tad un- Kari like. She walked away and started talking to Yolei.

"And Tai, nice hair. Love the color. And the jumpsuit fits your style so well." Mimi moved on. Tai had on a red, long-sleeved jumpsuit, with a white circle on the front that read Thing One.

"But where's Thing Two?" She asked. Tai grinned and turned around. On the back was a circle with Thing Two.

"You're both?" He nodded.

"Guess so." Tai grinned. Then Mimi locked her eyes on me.

"AH! MATT YOU LOOK SO CUTE!" She beamed and started examining me.

"Only someone as sexy as Yamato Ishida can pull off that outfit." Tai said and walked off. I raised my eyebrows and sighed.

"I can't believe I have to be this stupid cat." I grumbled as the hat fell over my eyes.

"I think you look really good as the cat. Now I can call you the Matt in the Hat." She grinned. I groaned and followed her around.

"What'd you do, invite the whole school?" I asked in disbelief. The place was packed from wall to wall.

"Pretty much." Mimi said. She grabbed me a soda and sat down next to me.

"So..." She gave me a small smile. I knew that smile, the smile that says, 'I'm going to ask you to tell me something you don't want to tell me.'

"So..." I said back, trying to buy more time.

"When are you and Tai going to admit your feelings for eachother?" She asked me. Well, that wasn't what I expected. And I started to chock. Mimi pounded me on the back until I stopped.

"Well?" She asked.

"What are you talking about?" I gasped, trying to get air back into my lungs.

"Just that. It's so obvious you want eachother." She concluded.

"Do not!" I denied it. And I didn't. Did I?

"I see the way you look at him. It's so obvious, yet you both are too blind to see it. Although, I think he knows he likes you."

"What makes you think that?"

" Well, let me think. 'Only someone as sexy as Yamato Ishida can pull off that outfit.'" She quoted him from earlier.

"That doesn't mean anything." I said, trying not to blush. But Mimi only smirked.

"Oh, and Matt?"

"What?"

"That outfit shows everything." She said.

"What's that suppose to mean?" I demanded. She leaned over and put her mouth to my ear.

"If you didn't have some feelings for him, you wouldn't have gotten hard at his comment." She whispered. I was thankful for the white paint now.

"Shut up!" I hissed.

"What? It's true, calm down." I groaned again and placed my face in my hands.

"So, you going to tell him?" She asked me.

"No way!" I protested.

"Matt!"

"Mimi!" She sighed and got up.

"Fine, do whatever. Just try to confess tonight ok?" She said and walked away from me. I sighed too and stretched out on the sofa.

"Well, now what am I suppose to do?" I said to myself. I closed my eyes and slowly tuned out the rest of the world. That is, until I was pounced on. I yelped and sat up, glaring at the pouncer.

"TK, what was that all about?" I whined. TK grinned and sat by my feet.

"Because, you're not suppose to be sleeping at a party. It's too...un- natural." He said. Ah, my little brother. Always stating the obvious. He was a vampire this year, but gothic styled. He had a pair of bat wings, fangs, black muscle shirt, black leather pants, the leather studded wrist bands, the choker, and the...make-up?

"What's with the black make-up?" I asked him. He shrugged and shook his head.

"Just a dark touch. What's with the staring?" He asked me. I jerked back to reality. I had been previously watching Tai talking to Daisuke, who was dressed as BeastBoy from the Teen Titans. And Ken was Robin. That was kind of freaky now that I think about it.

"I...didn't realize I was staring?" I said half-heartedly.

"Whatever. Listen, just go and tell him you love him and get it over with." TK said.

"Did Meems put you up to this?" I asked as I sat all the way up.

"Nope. It's just so damn obvious and I'm getting so annoyed by it." TK explained.

"What if he doesn't like me like that?" I said.

"He does. Trust me." I was about to open my mouth again when Tai suddenly started coming towards us.

"You, I need to talk to." He said to me and grabbed me by my arm.

"And you, my sister's looking for you." He said to TK. TK grinned and walked away. Tai pretty much dragged me upstairs and into an empty room. Tai shut the door and sat down in front of me.

"So what's up?" I asked him, fidgeting with my glasses. Tai reached over and took them off of me.

"Leave them off. Your eyes are too beautiful to hide behind large frames." He said and pocketed the frames. Even though they had been his idea to begin with.

"You said you needed to talk to me?" I asked him.

"Well, I guess. I mean, I haven't even talked to you all night. And it's about 10 pm. You do the math."

"Well, I talk to you all the time. Why would it matter so much now?" I asked him. He licked his dry cherry lips and sighed.

"Well...um, just something,...I mean..." What was this? The great Taichi stumbling over his words? I never thought I'd see this day.

"What are you trying to say?" I chuckled slightly. He took a deep breath and closed his eyes. Then he...leaned in and kissed me. I was startled, to say the least, but I didn't put up a fight. So basically, I let him kiss me and sit on me. Finally he broke away and looked at me solemnly.

"Look Matt, I like you a lot. And I don't care how many people have already said so, I just wanted you to hear it from me. I love you, Yamato Ishida." He said and got to his feet.

"I don't know what to say, exactly..." I trailed off. I saw his gaze lower in disappointment.

"Figures." He mumbled quietly and walked away.

"Tai, wait a minute." I followed him. But the crowd was too big, and I lost him. Not good. I spotted Kari and walked over to her.

"Kar, have you seen your brother?"

"No. Might want to check the kitchen though. He's always looking for food." She replied and went back to her previous conversations. I followed her advice and walked into the kitchen, the only empty place of the house. And I found him. But it wasn't good. He was standing over the sink, with a knife in his hand, over his wrist. He didn't know I was watching him apparently. Or maybe he did, and he was doing this to torture me. He slowly pierced his wrist and let the blood flow from it. I couldn't let him do this. I swiftly crossed the kitchen and yanked the knife from his grasp. He looked up at me and, pardon the cliché, they broke my heart. His brown eyes were filled with tears and feelings of confusement and despair.

"Matt, let go." He said, indicating my hand that was now covering his wound, trying to stop the bleeding.

"Tai, I'm not going to let you do this." I fought back as I wrapped a wet towel around his wrist.

"Why?" I could tell he was now a bit light-headed.

"Just because. Come on, let's go home." I grabbed him and practically carried him out into the main room. I explained to Mimi what had just happened and why we were leaving. She nodded and glanced worriedly at Tai, who was trying not to faint. I dragged him outside and hailed a cab that took us back to my apartment. I lifted him into my arms and carried him up to my apartment. As soon as we were inside, I dropped him on my bed and started to fix his wrist.

"Tai, you do realize that you could have killed yourself?" I said to him.

"That was the point." He whispered quietly.

"Why the hell would you want to kill yourself?" I asked.

"Because. What's the point of living when the one you truly love doesn't return the love?" he said. It slowly sunk in and I sighed.

"You're talking about me huh?" He nodded and looked away. I grabbed his face and forced him to look at me again.

"You never let me say how I felt though." He remained quiet and just watched me.

"Would you like to know now?" He nodded.

"I love you. I was a little slow to figure it out, but I truly do. I guess I just needed a kick in the ass to get me to admit it." I grinned. I received a small smile in return. I knew he still wasn't sure. So, I copied his actions, leaned in and kissed him. He responded immediately. I could feel his tongue moved along my bottom lip, begging for entrance. I complied and deepened the kiss, laying him down until I was pretty much straddling his hips. He started to unbutton the back of my suit while I unzipped his jumpsuit.

"So, are Thing One and Thing Two ready to play a new game with me?" I asked playfully.

"Of course, Mr. Cat in the Hat. Thing One and Thing Two are always willing to play." He replied as he finally rid me of my suit. I removed the jumpsuit and grinned.

"Let the games begin." I said huskily. He nodded and I proceeded to thrust into him. And judging by the moans from beneath me, I would say I was doing a pretty good job.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ *

The sun rose slowly and flooded the room. I opened my eyes slightly, yawned, and rolled over to face Tai, who was still sleeping peacefully. Well, was until I moved. He woke up and smiled.

"Hi." He said quietly.

"Are you always this quiet after screwing somebody?"

"I don't know. You're the first one I ever slept with." He shrugged. He tried to get out of bed, but failed miserably. He groaned and crawled back into bed.

"Hurts don't it?" I smirked. He nodded and stuck his tongue out.

"You probably are going to hurt to, so shut up." He said and closed his eyes again.

"Do you feel like getting out of bed?" I asked him.

"Nah, too comfortable. You?" He opened one of his eyes.

"Nah. This seems pretty good right here."

"Yea. It's going to take forever to get this blue out of my hair." Tai said out of nowhere. I laughed and shook my head.

"Well, no one said you had to dye your hair blue." I reminded him.

"True." He replied. We remained silent, just enjoying the other's presence.

"I think I've learned something from this." I said suddenly.

"What's that?" Tai asked me, still with his eyes closed.

"Good things come to those wearing catsuits." I replied and shut the blinds, blocking the sun to fall asleep with my lover once again.
