CHAPTER 1

**************

A man with long black hair pulled back into a pony tail, dark, tanned skin, and coal black eyes bowed into the dimly lit room.

"My lord, we have captured three of them." he said in a deep, husky voice.

Through the shadows, a demonic smirk spread across the half hidden face. "Good. Lock them in a cell...the smallest we have." the shadowy figure said, shifting to get more comfortable on the throne he was sitting on, of which was completely made of gold.

The man bowed further until his forehead almost hit the floor. "Yes, my lord." he said and straightened up, turning stiffly, and walking towards the only visible door in the big room.

The only one left in the room, was the shadowed figure, which smirked wider and lifted a scaly hand to his face, holding it palm-open facing himself.

He had incredibly tanned skin covering his body, but at the ball of his hand and the tip of his fingers were covered with ebony black scales that glistened in the dim light. He also had a thin trail of scales tracing his jawbone, and leading down the windpipe in his neck. There were some scales where his eyebrows should have been, and they led down to underneath his eyes.

There was also a long trail that traced down his spine. Where any other places were covered in scales, they were covered up by clothing. Where the skin met the rough, leathery substance, it blended, that seemed to add an even more eerie effect to it all.

He stared at his hand. "Perhaps..." he began slowly with his rich, regal voice, "Perhaps this will not be such a boring day after all." he finished, then laughed once, quietly to himself. "I believe it's time I paid a visit to my guests." he said darkly.

The figure stood up, his jagged, leathery cape, and long black, scaly tail swaying as he did so.

Crimson pupil-less eyes wandered to the door the man had earlier left through. "Guests," he finished his small outburst with a laugh, and headed towards the door.

Yuugi Mutou was just an average high school student. Average grades. Average friends. Average neighborhood. Aaaaand not so average looks.

Yes. He was short. Short to the point where it looked like he was a grade-schooler. His eyes, innocent and oblivious to the world around himself, and curious about everything.

"Joey, wait up!" he shouted as he ran as fast as he could to catch up with his blonde friend.

The said boy turned, so he was jogging backwards, and grinned. "Hey, where were ya?! C'mon, yer slowin' us down!" he called back to the shorter boy.

Yuugi frowned. "Hey," he said, panting hard because of his running, "I *pant* can't run that fast *pant* because of my defective growth hormones *pant*!" he shouted the last part.

The blonde smiled and laughed goodheartedly. He then stopped and began running back to his younger friend. When the two met halfway, Joey began to grin like a maniac. The tri-color haired boy was about to say something, when suddenly he was lifted into the air by strong arms and shifted so he was in a more comfortable position. Yuugi let out a startled cry and began to squirm.

"Hey!!" the smaller yelped, but the plea fell upon deaf ears as Joey began running, top speed, to catch up with the others, who were so far ahead by now, it wasn't even funny.

"Joey, please put me down before you drop me!" Yuugi cried, having a death grip on the other boy's school jacket.

"Aw, c'mon bud, I ain't gonna drop ya!" he said, still grinning like the madman he was. He still continued to run, causing Yuugi to bounce up and down in his arms, who of which was curled up into the most fetal-like position he could get into at the moment, and was squeezing Joey's jacket like there was no tomorrow. He feared there might not be for him if his friend were to trip.

The amethyst eyed boy whimpered and clung tighter, if that was even possible, to Joey's jacket.

Finally, they caught up with the others. 'The others' being Ryou Bakura, Tristan Taylor and Téa Gardner.

Téa turned and glared at Joey. "Put Yuugi down, Joey! You're scaring him!" she said, gesturing to the spoken, who was still clinging incase Joey lost his grip on him and he fell.

They were treating him like a kid, but he was used to it by now. "Thanks Téa." he said as the brown-eyed psycho put him down gently on the pavement.

"Hey, ya should be thankin' me! We're almost to da arcade!" the blonde said happily.

Tristan smirked. "Hey Joey, bet you I can beat you to the arcade." he said.

Joey's eyes lit up at the mention of it. "Is that a challenge, my friend?" he inquired.

Tristan smirked. "No, it's a statement." he said.

The former bully smirked and stepped forward. "Alright smarty, whacha gonna bet then?" he asked, eyeing the other.

The aforementioned brunette smiled and reached in his pant pocket and pulled out some money. "Five bucks? That's all I have." he said shortly.

The blonde grinned and reached in his pocket as well, sticking out his tongue on the right side of his mouth, his eyes focused on the sky to his upper left, and the right bottom eyelid was twitched up slightly, giving a very, goofy appearance.

"Aha!" he shouted triumphantly. Joey quickly pulled out four dollar bills and two quarters. He stared at the offending money for a while and then slipped his hand back into his pocket to fish out any little amount he could.

"Ah man! Only four dallas and 67 cents! This is jipped!" he shouted after another minute of scavenging.

Tristan grinned at him. "We haven't even started and you lost already! You are really pathetic, my man!" he said happily and began walking away slowly.

"Hey!" Joey shouted after him, even though he'd only gone but five feet. "Look wise-guy, you ain't gettin' outta dis so easy jus' ta letcha know!" he told the brunette.

Tristan only shrugged, and then turned and waited. "What then?" he inquired.

The blonde looked around at the other three. "Hey, uh, you guys got any extra change?" he asked.

Yuugi smiled and shook his head. "Sorry Joey, but my grandpa told me not to lend any money out this time." he said, blushing slightly, then looked at Téa.

She shook her head as well. "You still owe me sixteen dollars Joey, I'm not lending it to you until you pay up!" she said huffily.

The 'culprit' held up his hands defensively. "Hey, uh, I was gonna pay ya back, but, I, uh...You got any extra cash, Ryou?" he asked the white-haired boy, quickly avoiding the subject.

Ryou smiled and reached in his pocket, pulling out one dollar. "Here Joey, I don't need as much as I have. Take it." he said quietly, and handed the money out to his blonde friend.

Joey's face lit up automatically. "You're da best, Ryou, my buddy!" he said and yanked the money out of the pale boy's hand.

He turned and faced Tristan, who was still looking at him with the same, emotionless expression. "Okay, my spiky-haired friend, the bet is on!" he said enthusiastically.

"Whatever you say, Blondie." the other shot back, which earned a growl form "Blondie".

"Readysetgo!" he shouted and darted off down the street, leaving the others behind.

"H-hey! Ya big cheat, get yer ass back here and fight me like a man!" Joey shouted as he too, shot off down the street.

Yuugi and Téa sweatdropped while Ryou laughed nervously. "Well, this doesn't seem to be any different from any other day, huh?" he asked shyly.

The brown-headed girl glanced at the doe-eyed boy and sighed. "You know that you're probably never going to see that dollar again, right?" she asked.

Ryou smiled and nodded. "Yeah, but, I still owed him for helping me out the other day." he replied sheepishly, with a look of sadness along with it.

Yuugi and Téa smiled slightly, remembering how Joey had gotten Ryou out of a fight with the current most popular boy in school, Ushio, but ending up getting himself a black eye. That was three days ago and the badly bruised eye had gotten darker, showing that is was healing, but it was now painfully visible.

Of course, the principal had come up just as the first punch was thrown by Ushio, and he had gotten fined for fighting on school campus. Joey, on the other hand, had gotten away with only a trip to the nurse.

"I still feel bad that Joey got hurt..." Ryou said, breaking the small silence they shared as they continued walking.

"Don't blame yourself Ryou, he would've done the same for any of us, as we would've for him." The cheerful brunette replied, attempting to make the other not feel so badly.

"Yeah!" Yuugi chirped in, smiling broadly. "I know you would've done the same for any of us, Ryou!" he said, making the said boy smile at him.

"Thanks Yuugi, Téa...Hey, what happened back there, anyway?" he suddenly asked, a curious look shining in his eyes.

Yuugi glanced back behind him. "Yeah, I mean, one minute you were right with us, the next, you were way back there." Téa said, pointing her thumb the way Yuugi was looking.

The shorter looked up at them and sighed. "The string, holding up my puzzle," he held up the upside down pyramid with the Egyptian styled eye on the face of one side, "It kinda came undone so my puzzle fell off and a couple of pieces popped out." he let the golden item fall back onto his chest. "A few of the pieces fell in the bushes outside of that restaurant over there, and I couldn't find them. By the time I did, you guys were way up here." he finished and faced the road once more.

"Why didn't you ask us to help you? We would've been more than happy to..." Téa said, glancing at Ryou.

"We're not in any hurry...Well, those two were, but we would've helped." Ryou said, verbally agreeing with Téa. He absently grasped his own golden item, he wore around his neck; fingering the triangular pieces that hung off of the main ring part, around the odd pyramid in the middle.

Yuugi smiled, blushing slightly. "But, I didn't want to bother you, plus you guys have done so much for me already.

The other two smiled at their petite friend. They had gone somewhere of about fifty feet, when they heard whooping from way in front of them. Other people on the sidewalk did too and turned to see what on earth it was.

The three friends glanced at each other then started running, knowing full well what the familiar victory call meant.

After reaching the area in front of the Arachnid Arcade, nearly running into six or seven different people in the process, Téa, Ryou and Yuugi smiled, panting slightly, as they watched Tristan doing his little victory dance around an angry blonde.

"You cheated and you know it!" Joey snapped as Tristan waved the peace sign in his face.

"Oh, you're just a sore loser!" he said happily. "And I'll be taking this." he said picked the money out of the others hand, mockingly. He then proceeded to wave the ten dollars in his face.

Téa sighed and walked up, having regained her breath, and stopped in front of the taller brunette. She slowly reached up and snatched the money out of his hands. "And I'll be taking this." she said, finality rung in her voice.

"Hey!" Tristan shouted and tried to grab the money back. "I won that fair and square!"

"Yeah, you got here first, but you got a head start," she began, ticking her fingers off as she went along, "Joey was probably still a little winded from carrying Yuugi, AND," she stopped her little speech and pulled one dollar out form the small bunch. "This is Ryou's." she finished and turned and headed back over to where Ryou was.

"Here ya go" she replied happily as she handed the money back to her timid friend.

"I, no, I gave it to them..." he said shyly and tried to push the money away.

"Ryou. If you're not going to use this, then why don't you save it?" she asked as she persisted to put the bill in his pale hand.

"No...Really, it's okay, I don't..."

"Look, if ya ain't gonna take it, then let me!" Joey piped and ran up and grabbed the papery-cloth rectangle.

"JOEY!"

"Hey, I WON that!"

"But, ya cheated, cheater."

"You're still just a sore loser."

"I am not, yer gonna have a busted lip if ya don't quite sayin' that!"

"Um, guys?"

"Sore loser!"

"Why you-"

"Will the both of you just SHUT UP!"

"..."

"..."

"Thank you."

"But...I need that money..."

"For what Tristan?"

"I need to play laser tag!"

"But Ryou gave it to ME!"

"But I won it OFF OF you!"

"Guys?"

"Please stop fighting! It solves nothing!"

"But he started it!"

"Sore loser!"

"You-"

"SHUT UP, BOTH OF YOU!"

Everything was quiet as the huffy female panted, from having to yell.

"Jeez Téa...you got some lungs..."

"You are giving me a headache!"

"Guys?"

"What Ryou?!"

The said boy shrunk back as Téa snapped at him. Her face instantly had a look of regret and she frowned. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to snap at you. What were you going to say?" she asked sweetly.

"Um...There's Kaiba..." he said quietly, pointing right behind Joey.

The group turned to face the direction Ryou was pointing and Joey jumped back several feet.

"Holy shit!! Don't DO that ya friggin' rich snob!" he snapped as he clutched his heart, which had sped up from the sudden shock.

"You need to learn your manners, sniveling mutt." the CEO said coldly as he stared at the other.

"I'm not a mutt you snotty whor-" he didn't finish his sentence as Tristan slapped his hand over his mouth.

"It's YOU who needs to learn some manners, Kaiba." he said coolly, the argument now being forgotten.

"Shut up, thug." he said to Tristan quickly. Then he turned back to Joey. "I like the new look. You fight another dog for territory?" he asked, indicating to his black eye.

"Hey, he got that from defending his FRIEND Kaiba! That's what friends do!" Téa said angrily.

"It's always you and your friendship talks." The CEO replied, then smirked. "You always have your cheerleaders win your battles for you, eh pup?" he asked, his voice dripping with venom.

"Why you-!" Joey tried to sling another string of insults at him, but a low roll of thunder stopped him. "What the..."

A large drop of rain splattered on his nose and he flinched as some little drips were flung in his eyes.

"Well, I'd love to stay and chat, but I need to get going, I do have a company to run after all." Seto Kaiba then pushed his way past the group was about to continue walking, but suddenly, the sky lit up as lightning struck a tree not too far from where they were.

Téa screamed over the cracking of the bark, and Yuugi hid his face behind his hands. Ryou flinched and backed up, covering his ears with his hands, while Joey and Tristan just stared in shock.

"My God." the golden-eyed teen murmured as he let Joey out of his grips.

Kaiba, on the other hand, held up his metal briefcase to shield himself from whatever might hurt him. "Damnit!" he snarled.

The old tree across the street began to fall, right towards them. "Run!" Yuugi yelped as the group of six moved back as fast as they could, to get out of the way.

The tree hit the building right next the arcade and one of the windows shattered, flinging glass everywhere. It then began to rain as more lightning flashed across the sky, and thunder ripped through the air.

"Holy shit..." Joey gasped again as he staggered to his feet, since the force of the whole thing made his lose his balance. "Holy fuckin' shit..."

The others were too shaken up to disagree or correct his language.

"Guys..." Téa said slowly, trying to slow her heart back to it's normal rate. "I think," she gulped, "I think we should find shelter, right now." she said quietly.

"Really? That's the smartest damn thing you've ever said." the CEO spat out as he started to get up but his face suddenly contorted with slight pain. "Shit!" he growled as his hand flew to his left calf.

Yuugi looked at Kaiba and gasped as he saw a very small rivulet of blood start to sink through his gray jeans, making it turn a darker, blackish color, out of the back of his leg, where a shard of glass form the window had lodged itself.

"Kaiba, are you alright?!" he asked, concern lacing his voice.

The aforementioned CEO, growled more and glared at the small boy, who was his rival. "I am FINE." he snapped as he tried to get up, ignoring the pain, and the sheet of rain soaking him. "Damnit!" he hissed, for the second time that day.

"Kai-Kaiba..." Téa gasped out.

Seto turned to her and snarled. "What the hell are idiots just standing here for?!" he yelled over a loud crack of thunder, lightning illuminating his face. He shut his eyes to help calm himself and get centered, as he bent down, got his briefcase and began a limping jog out of the area.

The other five were shocked. One; being what happened with the tree and lightning and such, two; being that Kaiba just showed that he kind of cared for them in his own, disturbed little way. Joey and Tristan were the first to recover and jumped up. The blonde ran over to Yuugi and grabbed the smaller boy by his wrist as his other arm snaked around his waist quickly and he lifted the other easily, thanks to his rush of adrenaline. "Tris, get Ryou, I'll get Téa!" he shouted as another lightning bolt lit up the sky, temporarily blinding them all.

The golden-eyed teen nodded and ran over to Ryou, helping him off the ground. "Can you run?" he asked, checking the other for injuries, before finally making eye contact.

The white-haired youth had a fear-stricken face and was shaking. "Ye-yes." he said, but as he was getting up, with Tristan pulling him up by his arm, the other pulled him to his feet roughly.

"Can you run fast?" he asked quickly.

"I-I don't know." Ryou answered, his voice shaking. Another crack of thunder was heard, at a deafening level of loudness. "Ah!" he cried out as he began to shake more.

The other bent down and turned to Ryou. "Get on my back." he said, a commanding tone to his voice.

"Get on my back!" he shouted when Ryou wouldn't move. Then he pulled the shaking boy onto him and began running down the pavement, pushing past the very few amount of people who where still out.

Joey, meanwhile, was just a little bit ahead of them, carrying a terrified boy in his arms and shoulder, and a panting girl by the wrist with his right hand. He turned to a door and let go of Téa as he grabbed the doorknob, yanking it, only to find it had been locked. "Shit! Shit, shit, shit, shit, SHIT!" he yelled as he grabbed her wrist and began running again.

"Why are they locking these places up?! Can't they see people need shelter around here?!" he could hear Tristan yell from behind him.

Joey didn't even respond as another bolt of lightning struck nearby. "Fuck!" he shouted as he began to run faster, even though he thought it wasn't possible.

"Jo-JOEY!" Yuugi cried as he dug his nails into his shoulder unintentionally from fear.

"I know bud, we'll be alright!" he tried to reassure his friend as well as himself.

Ryou clutched desperately to Tristan's jacket. "Please," he begged, not knowing quite, exactly, for what.

"Ryou, you gotta hang in there, we'll be alright!" he said, mimicking the exact words his cohort had just said. "Damn!" he cursed as he tried another door, but it was locked as well.

They had run in uneasy silence, broken, almost constantly, by hammering thunder and blinding lightning. The group had no way of knowing how long they had made a mad dash, but eventually they began to leave the shops behind.

Téa was panting, looking around for some kind of shelter. "Joe-ey, I-There!" she shouted, as she caught sight of the back of a certain teen's trench coat.

Joey immediately swerved and called out to Tristan. "Dis way!" and he disappeared into the abandoned house that Seto Kaiba had gone into.

They had run close to two miles, and had made it into the older part of town, with many abandoned buildings. The closest one, being the one they had gone to.

Joey had dashed inside and collapsed against the wall beside the door, letting go of Téa's wrist and cradling the still terrified Yuugi. He was shaking violently, from both fear and chill.

Seconds afterwards, Tristan ran in, with Ryou on his back. He dropped to one knee and Ryou slid off, trembling badly, and hit the floor with a soft, and squishy from the rain, 'whump'.

"What the hell are you doing here?" a cold voice cut the silence in the room.

Joey glanced up, fire burning in his eyes, as he clutched the small duelist in his arms tighter. "Well, ya heartless prick, maybe we didn't want ta be stuck out der wit' all da lightnin' and crap." he replied coolly, panting slightly.

"Joey," a soft voice began.

"Yeah Yug'?" Joey said, looking down at his small companion.

"You're, kinda hurting me..." he squeaked out.

"Oh," the blonde sighed and released his tight grip on the boy slightly. "Sorry 'bout dat." he smiled sheepishly, the danger of the storm not concerning him anymore.

"How did this thing start so suddenly?" Téa asked, glancing out the rickety door, letting in a chilling air from outside. "It's like," she paused and turned back to the others, who were glancing off in different directions. "It's like it just...appeared...out of nowhere." she said worriedly.

"Guys, Ryou sorta breathing weird!" Tristan said, as all eyes turned the white-haired youth.

His breathing was deep and uneven. He had sweat falling from his forehead, not just from the water dripping out of his hair, and he was still shaking.

"Ryou? Are you okay?" Yuugi asked, as he adjusted himself in Joey lap, so he could face his friend better.

Ryou looked up at them. "I," he shuddered, "I don't like storms," he said in a hushed tone, and began shaking worse.

A sympathetic look crossed Téa's face and she moved over next to her albino-looking friend. She set her hand on his shoulder, trying to comfort him. "Ryou?" she asked, trying to get his attention.

The fear-stricken boy rolled his eyes over to look at her. "Y- yes?" he asked.

She lightly rested her hand on his forehead, to brush some of his bangs out of his eyes. Her eyes widened and she turned glancing very worriedly around the room. "Joey, can you come here?" she asked, concern in her voice.

"Uh, yeah, sure." he said and set Yuugi down as he scooted his way over to the brunette female. "What's wrong?" he asked quietly.

"Here," she began and grabbed his hand and brought it to Ryou's clammy forehead. Joey stared and turned to the blue- eyed girl. "What?"

"Does he feel a little overly warm to you?" she asked, eyes darting back and forth between the friend in question and the blonde.

Joey frowned. "Yeah...now dat ya mention it, he does." he then shrugged her gentle hand off his own and looked around the room.

"I-I'm fi-fine guys...real-eally..." Ryou murmured, a look of distress had fallen over his face.

"No, Ryou, you're sick!" Téa exclaimed. "Did you have any fever earlier?" she asked, trying to figure this out.

He was silent for a while, trying to decide if he would be worrying his friends if he said anything. "Ye-es...but you gu- guys wanted me to-to go with you--and I'm really fine! S- so..." he stopped and coughed violently, shaking his body. "Ow..." he mumbled as his head rolled to the side and onto Tristan's shoulder.

"Ryou, if you're sick, you should have told us!" Yuugi put in, crawling over to his friend, worried.

"This storm did come out of nowhere," a quiet, almost whispered voice cut through the air quietly and full of thought. All eyes in the room turned to Kaiba.

"What do you mean?" Tristan asked, running his fingers through Ryou's hair, hoping it would help calm the boy.

The CEO looked up, almost as if he hadn't expected anyone to hear him. "What did it sound like I meant?" the other brown- haired teen spat.

"But storms like dis don't jus' appear!" Joey said, turning his attention away from Ryou for a moment.

This earned him a glare. "You dumb mutt, that's my point!" he snapped, glaring power now turned up three to four notches.

"Well...then how did it just appear, if it's not possible?" Téa asked, a hand moving to her mouth.

"I don't know!" Seto nearly yelled.

"I think he snapped." Joey whispered to Yuugi. Yuugi glared at his friend.

"Shut it, Chihuahua. I heard that."

A growl came from Joey throat. He got up, ready to jump on the offending boy. "Who're you callin' a Chihuahua?!"

"Gee, the only person with a head of disgusting blonde hair, maybe?" Seto said, acid venom coating every word.

"You guys! Stop it!" Téa said, tired of this fighting. "We don't know how long we could be stuck here, together, so we might as well TRY to get along!" A soft moan to her right earned her attention. "Oh Ryou, here, you're shivering!" she stated, looking around the small shack for something to help her friend.

Seeing a blanket, abandoned in one of the corners, she got up and hurriedly snatched it up(checking it and shaking it first of course) and tucked it around Ryou.

"It smells bad, but it's the only thing in here." she told him.

Ryou smiled at her and coughed once more. "Thank...you..." he whispered. His eyes were glazed over with fever, but his breathing was beginning to even out.

"All this sentimental crap is starting to turn my stomach. I think I'll bet my luck with the storm." Seto said coldly and shifted as if to get up.

"Fine, go! We'll be fine witout ya bitchin'!" Joey spat back at him and was about to turn his attention back on Ryou, when a semi-loud roaring caught his ears. "What the-"

The albino gasped and his breathing began to hyperventilate as his eyes darted wildly. His shaking worsened and Tristan clutched his to help him feel secure, even though the golden- eyed teen was very secure himself.

"Oh shit!" Kaiba yelped as he was pulled toward the door, since he was directly in front of it, pushed against the wall. "Fuck!" he shouted as the howling picked up and he was beginning to be dragged to the broken open door. He reached for something to help him stay put.

"Kaiba!" Yuugi screamed, over the horrifying sounds that seemed familiar to a freight train. "Kaiba!" he yelled again and got up to run to his supposed friend.

"Oh God!" Ryou begged into Tristan's shirt. "Oh God, not again!" he whimpered, tears beginning to show in his eyes.

The wind was grabbing at anything it could get it's claws on and was beginning to tear the shack apart.

Yuugi made his way to the CEO, but he, being lighter than the other, was automatically pulled off his feet and dragged to the door.

"Yuugi!" Téa, Joey and Tristan yelled as Joey shot up to help his friend.

Everyone was being pulled into the walls of the wooden shed. The blanket was ripped off of Ryou and thrown out the door. He screamed and shifted, when suddenly, the structure exploded, from the pressure of the force.

At that instant, everything went black.

"So, you thought you could get any farther with your pathetic attempts this time, eh?"

Three heads snapped up at the sound of the voice. A blonde figure with brown eyes struggled to stand up and growled, hatred raging through his body. His outfit was green and brown, mainly green armor, and a bent up helmet with a red gem placed in the middle. Two upside-down triangular stripes were tattooed into his face under his eyes. "You bastard!" he shouted, as he collapsed; no strength left in his battered body.

"Well, you certainly are a determined one, I see." the figure said, voice ringing throughout the small prison. His blood- red eyes landed on the figure who had spoken.

The other two stared vehemently at the dark figure. "We will win, Demon King!" the one to the leftmost part of the cell shouted. He was wearing a blue and red outfit, mainly composed of some blue-cloth-like material.

"Well, Swordsman, I doubt that may be the case." the Demon King said back. An evil smirk appeared on his face. He turned to the last one in the room. "And you, Elf. What do you have to say before you're killed?" he asked, almost with a speck of kindness, to mock the spoken to.

"I have nothing to say." the figure said quietly, blonde hair falling past her shoulders and her blue skin glowing slightly in the darkness. "Nothing except the fact that when you murder us, may the blood in our veins stain your hands forever and curse your very being." she said, and looked up at him, cerulean eyes staring at the other. Though, no hatred was present in her voice when she sated this.

"I'll keep that in mind." the evil being smirked and was about to say something else, when a figure ran up to him, blonde hair swaying as he stopped.

"My Lord! A disturbance-a terrible storm-has appeared around our territory!" he said hastily, brown eyes looking down at his leader. Scales covered his face and visible body, like the one before him, as well as the very dark tanned skin.

The other's crimson eyes stared at the newcomer, then back at the three in the cell. "You three are lucky. Your death has been postponed until I get back. Fare thee well." his voice was full of amusement as he said this, then he turned and walked out of the dungeons.

The blonde demon looked at them and sneered, then spat on the ground before them. "When will you learn, siding with humans gets you nowhere." he asked and turned, his ebony tail swaying behind him, and exited.

Then the door shut and all was silent. The darkness surrounding the small group was only crushing their hopes further. "May we ever get back?" the first asked.

"Yuushi, we'll get out. Some way or another, we'll get out..."

There was silence for a long while, before the first turned his head in the direction of his friend, and asked the one thing that all three were thinking. "...Will we really?"

~****~

O_o;; Dun know where this came from...to be honest, I really hated the way this came out. I couldn't get it right, and it's really crappy and fake, and I'm ranting...=_=* Shutting up now, shutting up. But what did you think? Good? Bad? Too long? Too short? Crappy? To continue, or not to continue...THAT is the true question. Should I? Review and tell me! *waves* Sayonara!
