Note: Ok, this is a result of what happens after you watch mutant X and stay up too late. It’s just a whole bunch of mush.

Shalimar tied her robe and snuck quietly out of her room. She scampered to the entrance of Sanctuary and quietly exited, letting out a relieved breath as she stepped outside.

Brennan secretly watched as she walked out and wondered where in the world she could be going. After slipping a pair of shoes on, he stepped out of Sanctuary and walked around the mountain.

It was a warm summer night and the sky was clear, so it was no surprise that Shal wanted to come out. She liked the night and if it was a beautiful one, there was no keeping her indoors. Brennan walked a little ways more and turned the corner. His eyes widened at the sight he found and a smile spread across his face.

Shalimar had apparently decided to come out for a moonlight swim, completely naked. Brennan walked over and took a seat on one of the ledges as he watched her. The soft white moonlight shimmered off her golden hair and put a light glaze over her wet shoulders. A soft warm wind blew and something touched his hand. Looking down he found Shalimar’s silk oriental robe and a pair of sandals. He smiled and picked them up before walking down to the shoreline.

Shalimar was relaxing peacefully in the water until she heard Brennan call her. She gasped and turned, only to find him standing at the edge of the water holding her robe and sandals. He laughed at her shocked expression. “Having fun?!” he called.

“Brennan!!” she yelled suddenly embarrassed. “Put my clothes down!”

“Come get them!” He smiled but a shiver ran through his body as he saw two gold eyes flash at him.

“Actually, Shal, a swim sounds like a good idea. Mind if I join you?” He smiled and then put her robe on a nearby rock and dropped the sandals before starting to undress.

“Yes, actually,” She replied trying to keep herself covered and stay above the water at the same time. Shalimar’s eyes widened as he started to undo his jeans. “Brennan, what are you doing!?” She yelled as she turned her face. The next thing she knew he was about five feet away from her and just as naked as she was.

“I’m joining you,” he smiled.

“You weren’t invited,” she scolded, trying as best she could to avoid eye contact. He had the power to melt her with just one look. It scared her, but she loved it at the same time.

“Oh, I’m sorry. I didn’t know this was your ocean,” he smirked at how much he was annoying her.

“Bren...”

“What’s the matter, Shal? You afraid of me?” he asked as he moved closer to her.

She moved back, keeping her distance from him. “I’m not afraid of you.” She tried to keep her voice steady, but it trembled as she watched him move closer.

“Then come here.” He planted his feet and stood before opening his arms. They were too far out for the water to drop anywhere below his waist. Shalimar gave him a ‘you’re kidding me’ look and stayed where she was. “Either you come here or I’m coming to get you,” he said crossing his arms.

Shalimar narrowed her eyes. “You wouldn’t dare.”

Brennan grinned evilly and launched himself at her. She screamed in shock and quickly started to swim away, but she wasn’t fast enough. Brennan caught her hips and turned her around before pulling her close. Shalimar gasped and put her hands on the sides of his shoulders pushing him away. “Oh, yes I would,” he replied smartly as he kept a tight hold on her.

“Let me go!” Shalimar smacked him and tried to get out of his arms even though she liked being there, but he wouldn’t let go.

“No, I don’t want to,”

Suddenly Shalimar stopped her struggles. Her face shot up and her eyes locked with his daring him not to do what she said. He smiled coyly and quickly leaned forward, catching her lips in a kiss. She pushed on his chest for a moment but then slowly melted into the kiss.

They left each other gasping for air as they broke apart. Shalimar blushed and looked down noticing that her skin was pressed tightly against his. A shiver ran though her body as the wind cooled off and blew against her wet skin. “I...umm...I think I’m ready to go in,” she said softly.

Brennan nodded and started to walk back to shore with her, placing small soft kisses to her lips and neck as they went. Shalimar wrapped her legs half way around him, helping him hold her up.

Taking her hips again, he reluctantly put her down on the sand. The temptation to look her up and down was strong, but he did his best to resist it as he took her robe and held it out for her. She slipped her arms in and tied it, keeping her back to him until he had his pants back on.

A minute later Brennan took her hand and turned her around. She found him dressed for the most part, but he was missing the shirt. She definitely didn’t mind his lack of clothes. Smiling, Shalimar let him pull her close as they started toward the entrance of their home.

Once inside Brennan walked her to her room and kissed her goodnight. “Wait!” She took his arm as he started to walk away and stopped him. Brennan turned and looked down at the beautiful feral silently asking what she wanted. “It’s kinda chilly in here. Do you wanna come back after you shower?”

Brennan smiled at her invitation. “Give me fifteen minutes.” He gave her a quick kiss and went to his room.

Shalimar quickly went into her room and got into the shower herself. When she came out she found Brennan sprawled out on the bed waiting for her. He smiled and beckoned her to him with his finger. Shalimar turned the bathroom light off and practically ran to the bed before climbing in next to him.

Brennan brought her closer and pulled the covers up over them. He kissed her head and turned the light on her nightstand off. “Hey Shal?”

“Humm?” She asked softly as she draped one arm over him.

“I love you,”

She smiled. “I love you, too, Bren. ‘Night,” Tilting her head up, she placed a tender kiss on his lips.

He returned the kiss and then whispered, “Goodnight,” before pulling her closer and falling asleep beside her.
