It was a cold summer night, and Kagome decided to take a small walk after dinner.

“ I can’t believe Inuyasha could do such a… such a… thing like that.”

“ the nerve of him taking so long to find me.”

She remembered that a few days ago she was kidnapped by the wolf demon named Kouga to save his pack from extinction. Kagome, who everyone thought was the priestess even though she was burned a long time ago. Kagome had the power to see the shattered remains of the jewel of four souls in our outside a human or demon body. She was also able to sense them even if they were miles away.

Kagome had taken this path on purpose to see if she could get a moment alone with Inuyasha, as so she could give him a piece of her mind. Inuyasha was just coming back to the camp with fire wood in his hands. He was facing the path of dirt before him.

“What if I take Kagome aside and tell her I was really sorry?” he shock his head to answer his own question.

“no… she’ll either slap me or sit me.” Inuyasha sighed heavily.

‘she was really counting on me to get to her…but I didn’t.’ He threw the wood down onto the dirt road.

“Stupid birds of paradise.. Know I’ll never be able to get anything out of her!” he mumbled.

“Inuyasha!”

Inuyasha looked up to see who called his name. He saw Kagome standing only a yard away tapping her foot. Inuyasha stood up. He knew what was coming. Kagome was going to scream her head off.

“ Inuyasha, how could you leave me without explaining.”

“I thought you were asleep and the fire needed more wood.”

“Sango and Miroku are asleep and you failed to notice I was just laying there waiting for your explanation.”

Sango and Miroku were older than Kagome by at least a year or two. They all had been traveling together in search of the sacred jewel shards.

“How do you want to hear my story because I already told you that we got stuck in a group of demons. I did my best to get to you.”

Before Kagome could say anything an arrow flew right passed Inuyasha and hit Kagome below the breast bone between the ribs. (I believe the shot would be fatal but lets just say that it is not. It needs to be in that area for a reason… continue reading to find out…)

“Kagome!!!” Inuyasha cried out.

Inuyasha grabbed Kagome before she had an unwanted meeting with the floor.

“Inuyasha….help….me….!” Kagome’s words were close to un hearable if it hadn’t been for Inuyasha’s (very cute) dog ears he might not have heard it. He looked over his shoulder to see Kagome’s attacker. But there was no one. Inuyasha lifted Kagome bridal style and ran to camp.

To his luck everyone was awake. After seeing Kagome being carried back to camp by Inuyasha, Sango and Miroku ran to his side to find out why. They noticed the arrow sticking out of Kagome’s chest and Inuyasha was soon bombarded with questions.

What happened seemed to be the most favorite, and so far the easiest to answer.

“I’ll answer questions after Kagome has been taken care of.” Inuyasha was not going to let Kagome die and he knew that if she wasn’t treated soon she would die.

“Set her down by the fire. Miroku, Inuyasha I need you to find me some herbs to heal her wounds and to heal pain.” commanded Sango

Miroku was already on his way to the forest. Inuyasha set down Kagome and was about to leave when he was held back by a voice.

“Stay…Please.. Don’t leave me…!”

Kagome soon fainted. Inuyasha sat down beside her holding her hand in his to let her know that he was right there. Sango broke the arrow and thought it was safe to push it though to the other side of her body. But before she was able to do that Sango had to remove Kagome’s school blouse. By doing this it showed most of Kagome’s chest and stomach. Luck for her she had a bra on to cover the most crucial part. Inuyasha kept his gaze directly on Kagome’s face, wound and at what Sango was doing. (I wish most men/boys were like that).

~Kagome is so lucky that that perverted monk is not here to see this…at least I show some respect…~ thought Inuyasha ~well… peeking not included… I think…~ he added in his mind.

Inuyasha lifted Kagome so that Sango could push the arrow through her body to get it out.

“Kagome this is going to hurt. I ask you not to scream or move. It will only make it worse.” advised Sango.

Kagome now awake nodded. Inuyasha held her up with one hand and his free hand grasped hers firmly for moral support. Sango pushed the arrow through really fast. Kagome tried not to move or yell but she couldn’t help it. She moved slightly forward and grasped Inuyasha’s hand as if it would make the pain go away. ~Oh god…. This hurts a lot…~ she thought. Inuyasha looked down at her now shaking form. ~She looks so… so ….so much in pain.~ he thought.

Miroku now returning with some more herbs. His eyes swiftly meet Kagome’s half-naked form. ~oh god…I would love to see her like this if she hadn’t been in so much pain~ Miroku thought. Inuyasha noticed his staring and his perverted smile. He stood up so that his body was hiding Kagome. Miroku snapped out of his daze noticing the red haori in front of him.

“Inuyasha! Have you been here all this time. Man, you have no dignity or honor. Kagome has no top on and you haven’t even left. Hentia (pervert)… why not come and retrieve some firewood with me.”

Inuyasha was about to follow Miroku when Kagome’s hand gripped his wriste.

Her face was filled with pain and sorrow. Inuyasha turned and faced her, gazing straight into Kagome’s eye’s. She didn’t need to say anything for Inuyasha to know what she wanted. Inuyasha turned again, but this time to face Miroku.

“I promised Kagome that I wouldn’t leave her side. Since I failed her once… the least I could do is keep her company through all this pain.”

Inuyasha sat down next to Kagome placed her hand in his. Kagome looked up at him and smiled. A weak but heart warming smile. Miroku looked taken back but said nothing. This was the first time they had seen Kagome smile at Inuyasha in months.

“I heard it myself Miroku.” said Sango

Miroku looked at Kagome then to Inuyasha. Still looking taken back. Sango soon changed the subject.

“Miroku, these herbs are perfect for her pain thanks. Inuyasha!”

Inuyasha took his gaze off Kagome and looked at Sango.

“Well, now that I have your attention. I need you to see if you could smell any poison on the arrow head.”

“You think that Kagome’s been poisoned?!” asked Inuyasha startled

Inuyasha glanced quickly at Kagome. Her eye’s were watery and told all. Inuyasha then moved his eyes to the arrow that had pierced Kagome. It was covered in blood…her blood. He took it and sniffed the arrow head.

“All I smell is Kagome’s blood. No poison. But there is something else but I can’t make out what it is.” he said with full concern

“You can bet there is something else on that arrow!”
