I Know

Disclaimer: Don't own 'em, just write with them, except Ensign Kolbat, you may use her, she is a CONN officer, like Tom, but give me credit for her.

Tom was walking down a corridor on deck 7, concentrating on his PADD. He bumped into Ensign Kolbat, a fellow CONN officer. "Oh, hi Jill," he said, startled at first then he drifted of a little.

"Hi Tom," she said in a seductive voice.

"What?" he said confused, and shocked.

She pressed herself against him.

"Hey, does B'Elanna mean anything to you?"

"Don't worry about her, she'll he heavily injured in an engineering accident, the Doctor won't be able to do anything for her. We grieve, we get over it."

"If ANYTHING, and I mean anything, happens to her, I will personally through you out an airlock. Is that clear Ensign?"

"Crystal, Sir."

"Get out of my sight."

What Tom didn't know was that B'Elanna saw the conversation, up until Tom got made, and threatened to throw Jill out an airlock.

Tom walked into B'Elanna's quarters, they were going to have dinner. "Hi," he said blandly. Tom looked over at her, and noticed that she was upset. "What's wrong?"

He walked over to her, and wrapped his arms around her waist, she rested her right knee on a chair. (Just like in DRIVE.) "What?" Tom asked understandingly.

"I heard what Jill said to you today."

"Oh, did you hear that if anything happened to you I would throw her out an airlock?"

"No, I'm sorry."

"It's okay," he said lightly, then with more gusto, "Now, let's eat."

They ate, talking about what they did that day, and other small-talk subjects.

After dinner, they turned they're chairs, so that when they sat they were facing the view port. Next to each other, they sat watching the stars fly by. Tom's arm was around B'Elanna, she was leaning on him, and his head was leaning on her head.

"Tom," she said, her eyes looking up at him.

"Hmm?" he answered his eyes looking down on her.

"I love you."

He inhaled deeply, and exhaled saying, "I know."

They both continued to watch the stars.
