How Things Can Turn Out

Hermione Granger a Hogwarts six year student was sitting in the school library. She was not thinking about schoolwork as you would assume, she was thinking about a guy, Jake. He was in the year above her but not in the same house. He was a Hufflepuff. She had run into him two days ago but that had clearly been enough, she was crazy about him. She talked about him 24 hours a day, almost. That was at least what Ron thought. And he was sick of it, so was Harry. Everybody seemed to have a boyfriend or girlfriend, everybody except for Ron and Harry. At least that's what they thought.

Ron hadn't taken it all that well. He acted normal around Hermione but with Harry it was different. When they had first found out he had said something that made Harry think. 'Beside you Hermione is the only real friend I've had and the only person I can trust and count on. I never thought that she getting a boyfriend would feel like this.' That was what Ron had said and Harry had suggested to Ron that maybe he was jealous, but Ron had shaken away that thought at once.

But that was a couple of days ago. Now, as Hermione was sitting there in the library thinking, Jake entered the room. He walked up to Hermione and sat down at her table.

'Hermione, we need to talk,' said Jake.

'Oh, OK,' said Hermione and looked at Jake.

'OK, the thing is that I've found out that there's a girl in my house that likes me,' said Jake.

'Err... OK,' said Hermione. 'So, do you like her?' Jake nodded.

'Yeah,' he said. 'So I don't think this is the right time for me to have a girlfriend.'

Hermione nodded you was almost crying, she could feel the tears that wanted to escape.

'OK,' she said.

'But I hope we can still be friends,' said Jake. Hermione looked at him and then she shook her head.

'No, I don't think we can,' she said. 'I think that you should leave now.' Jake nodded and got up.

'So... I'll see you around,' he said and left the library.

Hermione buried her face in her hands and started to cry. This was so typical.

What must have been ten minutes later Ron entered the library and looked around. He took a few steps and looked around once more. Then he noticed her sitting at a table to his far right. He walked up to her just as she buried her face in her hands once more.

'Hi Hermione,' said Ron as he reached her.

Hermione looked up. Ron noticed that her eyes were red and swollen and a few tears were circling down he cheeks.

'Oh, hi Ron,' said Hermione and stroke away the tears.

'I missed you at lunch today. Is something wrong?' asked Ron as he put a hand on her shoulder.

'Jake came to see me,' said Hermione. 'He broke up with me.'

'Why?' asked Ron.

'He said that he likes this other girl in his house,' said Hermione. Ron sat down next to her.

'Don't worry Hermione,' said Ron. 'Soon he'll find out of stupid he has been and he's going to regret it for the rest of his life.'

'I suppose she's prettier, smarter, funnier and nicer than me,' said Hermione. Ron shook his head.

'No! No she's not!' he said.

'How do you know?' asked Hermione.

'Because there is no one who's prettier than you, or smarter or nicer than you,' said Ron. Hermione smiled.

'You forgot funnier,' she said.

'Well, I was including myself in that,' said Ron. Hermione laughed.

'Listen Hermione, he doesn't deserve you. You deserve someone who knows how great you are, someone who knows you, who you really are. Someone who would do anything for you, someone who would do anything to see your charming smile,' said Ron. Hermione smiled, she had figured out what Ron had meant even if he hadn't. She leaned forward and let her lips brush against his slowly. She felt her heart beating faster, it was a great feeling. As they broke apart Ron was smiling.

'How did you know?' he asked.

'I knew because I know how great you are, I know who you really are, I'd do anything for you and especially to see that smile of yours that could make the most depressed person to smile. I know that you will be there what ever happens to me,' said Hermione. Ron smiled.

'This is what I've dreamed about even before I knew you existed, this is what I've dreamed about for the six years I've known you and for the time I've been in love with you,' said Ron. 'This is all I've ever wanted, and I finally have it, if you'll let me that is.'

Hermione smiled.

'Of course I'll let you, you idiot,' she said. 'I'm in love with you.'

Then Ron pulled her closer placing his lips on top of hers, feeling the love rushing through his body. Knowing that dreams can come true, if you really want them to.
