Notes: Yay, Cedric/Oliver! ::Waves flag::

He doesn't tell anybody about the dreams. They're private, and besides, who would he tell? His Quidditch buddies are just that- buddies. Not good enough mates to tell private details to. And these dreams are certainly private. It's not just nightmares, though there's those, too, and every time it is different, Cedric wearing diffent clothes, sometimes Harry isn't there, sometimes there's blood and screaming. And Oliver is there, watching, but he can't move as he watches Cedric fall to the floor, dead.

He dreams of memories, the first time they kissed, how it felt, and how they had smiled shyly at each other afterwards. There's the first match they played against each other, the tension, and how he had tried so hard to be tough. The first time Cedric smiled at him, the first time they went out together- everything he didn't let himself think of in real life. In his dreams, they're usually laughing, smiling, having fun. Oliver hadn't been a jerk at the World Cup, and he had seen Cedric when he came to Hogwarts to see the First Task, and they talked then, and worked everything out. In his dreams Oliver didn't get mad when he heard Cedric went to the Yule Ball with Cho Chang. Then Oliver wakes up, though, and reminds himself: Cedric is dead, and Oliver and Cedric had been broken up, and Cedric had dated Cho... Dreams are falsehoods, but they're better than nothing. And sometimes they're better than the real thing.
