Epilogue
Four years passed after Peter had been taken to the ministry for Sirius' release. Sirius had been freed upon the testimony of the supposedly dead man; of course that man was under Vertiserum at the time. It was because of that freedom that Sirius was allowed to stand next to Harry on several occasions. He had barely kept himself from being knocked into the veil when Harry went to the ministry in a panic to save him, but it helped to prove that Sirius was not an easy man to get rid of.
All in all, things appeared to be going well for everyone. Voldemort had been defeated, and, while Sirius had a near heart attack to learn that Harry really had died for a short period of time, life continued on. What was curious to certain people, even Sirius, was that Morgana hadn't really participated in any of it. She had avoided the vast majority of the issues and appeared to have semi-disappeared, at least that was the assumption since Severus wasn't worried about her. It was four years after Peter's capture that things seemed to be a little different. Harry was sitting with Sirius during his lunch break, having taken up a job at the ministry as an Auror.
Sirius was eating a sandwich that the waitress had brought to him. Harry watched Sirius in silence for a moment; he could tell that there was something affecting his Godfather. "Sirius, what's on your mind?" Sirius seemed to snap to attention when Harry spoke. It was almost as if he had forgotten that Harry was there. He took a sip of his water and shook his head.
"It's nothing Harry, my mind was wandering. I got an interesting letter the other day. I'm not sure what to do about it." He didn't elaborate beyond that. Harry frowned as he looked at Sirius some more. The man seemed to want to keep whatever it was to himself. He looked around after a moment and saw a woman walking up to them. He glanced over at Sirius to see if he had noticed as well. Sirius sat up straighter in his seat, his food laying forgotten on the plate. His eyes were on the woman that came towards them.
The woman walked up. Her hair was cropped to just below her chin and fell around her face. She wore a sweater and a pair of jeans. She looked at Harry for a brief moment and then back at Sirius. "I see that you received my letter." Harry started at the sound of that voice, he knew who it was. He looked at Sirius. The man nodded in response to her words.
"Yes I did Morgana." She gave him a slight smile and looked back at Harry. Her eyebrow raised in a manner that he recognized. None of them spoke for several moments. She only stood there, not a single thing about her stood out from the rest of the people in the café.
She cleared her throat and looked between the two once more. "I was just checking in on you. It has been a while." Sirius nodded in response. While nobody knew what had happened with the young woman, it was obvious that she was fine wherever she had been.
"Where have you been?" Sirius blurted the question out before anyone could react. She just gave him a slight smile and tugged at the collar of her sweater. She shook her head and looked over her shoulder to see if someone was there. Harry looked over as well and almost jumped when he saw Severus Snape standing there. He had been missing since the end of the final battle.
She shook her head again. "Sorry, I have been abroad researching. Either way, I came to say hello and check up to see how you're doing. Don't worry about me so much, I get enough of that from Severus." She laughed, not having broken the habit of calling her one parent by his first name. She then looked at Harry. "As for you, do keep up the good work. I hear that you're doing a wonderful job." She then nodded to the two of them and walked to the other side of the street where Severus was. The two walked off, talking about something that neither Harry nor Sirius could hear.
Harry looked at Sirius to see how he was taking to the very short conversation they had with his child. Sirius cleared his throat. "Well, that was certainly interesting." He looked back at Harry and gave him a smile. "I think I shall take my own leave Harry. It's nearly time for you to return to work, and I have to go." He laughed a little bit at whatever thought flitted through his mind. Harry rolled his eyes; he knew that Sirius had taken up with the Weasley twins in their shop. He looked back at his own plate of half-finished food and just got it bundled up to go. He knew he could save it for dinner.
"Well, that was certainly interesting." He made his way back to work. The café that he had been in was close enough to the ministry that he could walk. Harry was not a fan of most forms of magical travel, but would do them when he had to. He kept his mind focused on what he had to do. Someone came up to him as he walked. He glanced over and saw Ron. He gave his best friend a smile.
"Enjoy your lunch with Sirius mate?" Ron returned Harry's smile. Harry nodded. He thought of mentioning the strange occurrence that had taken place, but decided not to. Ron was still a little sore about how Morgana had treated his brother when the two had broken up. He did not feel the need to open up that particular door once again.
"I did, Sirius rushed off. I think he came up with a new idea that your brothers could sell." He laughed, knowing that it was likely correct. It seemed that the man had perked up a little at seeing his daughter after so long. Harry mentally shrugged, not knowing what to expect when it came to Sirius. "You know, at least he is kept busy. Sirius needs that." Ron nodded, they both knew the truth there and Harry was glad that he was alive and didn't care how it had happened. He managed to keep his parent figure, and he was glad that at least life had gotten better. He thought back to how Morgana had looked a lot better than she had in her last year and decided then and there that it was a good thing it all ended. They were all alive and well, what more could anyone ask for? Harry didn't know, and he didn't mind. He was glad everyone was doing well, and that was all there was to it, and always would be.
