Meet Goka

Chapter 28: Goodbye.

Disclaimer: Song is by Matchbox 20.

Goka continued to trail Trunks all the way to the room until he finally stopped and opened a nearby door for her. They both went inside and Trunks stood there with her for a few moments. He watched as she placed her small form on the bed and lay back. He also noticed the way her shirt rode up when she put her arms behind her head in a relaxing gesture. She looked so innocent and peaceful with that smile on her face. 'She has no idea what she is doing to me.' Trunks thought to himself.

Of course Goka had always been that way, she reminded him of her father when she started acting naïve like that. However, she also had that other side of her, he guessed it must have come from Chichi, the way she could be so happy and the minute she feels threatened enough she would not hesitate to blow you away. Though normally that only happened when she had been pushed…thank Dende.

Then as suddenly as she had flopped on the bed she was back up again. She stood and moved over to him, but Trunks was so lost in thought he never even noticed her until she was right in front of him waving a hand in front of his face.

"Yo Trunks…you in there?" She said with a light-hearted smirk.

He only smirked back at her as he finally came back to reality.

"Yeah I'm here." He answered.

"So where did you go?" She asked curiously.

Trunks faltered for a moment, 'No way am I telling her.' "Guess I'm just getting tired. Umm…I guess I'll go now."

He had turned to walk out of the room when Goka grabbed his hand gently.

He whirled around to see if something was wrong, but Goka looked fine so he gave a questioning gaze look while waiting for her to explain her actions.

She seemed nervous for a moment and then she looked at him, Trunks was about to ask her if something was wrong when she leaned forward and captured his lips in a passionate kiss. He blinked for a moment; he hadn't been expecting that but decided to roll with it anyway. He closed his eyes and wrapped his arms around her waist and moments later he felt her move her arms around his neck. He could feel her tongue gently grazing his lips as if asking for entrance and he allowed it. The kiss lasted for a few more moments until finally they broke off. Trunks looked at her with surprise and Goka only blushed deeply at the thought of what she had just done.

"Just wanted to say goodbye." She whispered as she met his eyes again shyly.

Trunks just stood there with his mouth agape as he was unable to form any words. Finally, he came back to his senses and blushed, "Umm…ok…uh…goodnight." He said and walked to the door.

He turned and gave her one last smile before leaving the room, which she caught and returned.

Trunks walked out and shut the door behind him gently, 'What was that?' He thought. Sure they had kissed like that before, but every other time he had been the one that started it. He decided he would just wait and think about it later, right now he needed to go rest.

I think I've already lost you

I think you're already gone

I think I'm finally scared now

You think I'm weak - but I think you're wrong

I think you're already leaving

Feels like your hand is on the door

I thought this place was an empire

But now I'm relaxed - I can't be sure

Goka stood there for a moment as she thought about what she had just done. 'I didn't think I had it in me…' She thought to herself as she crawled into bed. She needed to get a little rest, tomorrow she would be putting her plan into action and she didn't want anything to go wrong.

She reached over and grabbed the alarm clock so she could set it for 4:00 a.m. 'There…I don't think anyone should be up then.' She thought to herself and placed the alarm clock back on the table next to her bed and lay down for some sleep.

I think you're so mean - I think we should try

I think I could need - this in my life

I think I'm just scared - I think too much

I know this is wrong it's a problem I'm dealing

Goka groaned as she reached over and turned off the alarm clock. She had always hated getting up early, but today she decided it had to be done so she pulled herself up out of the bed. She reached into a small bag that she had brought along with her and pulled out a piece of paper, and envelope, and a pen. She scribbled something down on the piece of paper and folded it so it would go in the envelope. Before sealing it she dropped a small object in the envelope and then she finished the job by closing it up and writing a name on the outside of the envelope.

She made her bed carefully and when she was done it almost looked like she hadn't even slept in it. She set the envelope on the pillow and gave it one last longing look before walking out of the room.

She made her way down the hall and back to the stairs. She gracefully moved down them without making a sound. She continued to move along in her stealth until she arrived at her destination, Bulma's Lab.

She walked in quietly and before going all the way in she took a careful look around to make sure she hadn't decided to pull an "all nighter". Seeing no one she walked in and flipped on the lights. She heard a soft hum feel the room as it was illuminated with the lights and she immediately set to work with her task. She walked up to the work desk and opened the middle drawer. She rambled through it a moment until she found what she was looking for and grabbed it.

She took another quick look around to make sure there was nothing else that she needed before she walked out of the room. 'I'm sorry Trunks, but this is something I have to do, please understand.' She thought as she shut off the lights to the lab and closed the door behind her.

I bet you're hard to get over

I bet the room just won't shine

I bet my hands I can stay here

I bet you need - more than you mind

Trunks had just woken up, he had this terrible feeling like something bad was going to happen. He had tried to go back to sleep but he just couldn't rid himself of the feeling and finally decided to get up.

He walked downstairs to get something to drink hoping that would soothe him and help him get back to sleep. After he had made his drink he was on the way back to his room when he decided he would check up on Goka. He knew she could take care of herself, but he just couldn't shake the feeling like something was about to happen to her.

He crept quietly down the hall to her room and cracked open the door. He squinted his eyes to see in the darkness of the room. Once he had finally gotten to the point where he could make out some details he noticed that she wasn't in her bed. This only made Trunks worry more and decided he would go in and investigate. He didn't see his fiancée anywhere but he did notice a small envelope lying on the pillow of her bed.

He gulped a little as he reached over to grab the envelope. On the front his name was written in a hand writing that was without a doubt hers. He carefully opened the letter and pulled out the piece of paper that lie inside and started to read.

Dear Trunks,

I know this isn't going to be something that you want to hear, but I've decided that I need some time alone for a while. With everything that has happened lately I just feel so confused and lost and I need some time to myself to sort things out. I know you would have been there for me through it all and I will always love you for that, but right now I just need to do this on my own.

I'm taking the old CC ship that Vegeta used when he trained in space and I am going to travel through space as well and try to get myself together again. I'm not sure when I'll be back, but please try not to worry and don't come looking for me. I'm sorry to do this to you, please don't hate me.

Love Always,

Goka

Trunks tore his eyes away from the letter as the realization started to settle in. 'She's gone…no! This can't be happening! I have to stop her!' He thought to himself as he was about to put the letter in the envelope again and into his pocket. He felt something else inside the envelope and his heart filled with dread as he pulled out the object that he hoped it wouldn't be. The engagement ring he had given Goka. He clenched his fist around the small object and tears welled in his eyes. "No…" He whispered. "Goka…she's really gone."

If you're gone - maybe it's time to go home

There's an awful lot of breathing room

But I can hardly move

If you're gone - baby you need to come home

Cuz there's a little bit of something me

In everything in you
