~~~The Tales Untold~~~
-Of Brothers and Blood-
A terrible prophecy has been delivered and the ranger is desperate to prevent it. Meanwhile the king is fading and Mirkwood is slowly bowing to its would be conqueror. It is now a battle against fate.
Author's Note: Well, here's the preview to the final battle against Amélith's takeover. And against Rîn's prophecy. It's action (and angst) packed, just in case you were wondering. It's attack of Amélith the Annoying and his evil Lackeys! Here's a quick preview of the story… just to tease you all.
Eluross sighed and rubbed his forehead wearily. Thranduil saw this. "Eluross, you've been working too hard. You've slept none in a week. Go catch a few hours sleep. The rebellion won't kill Legolas and me in a few hours time. I've still got Rada standing guard outside the door. She just came back from a nap. Don't even argue. That's an order."
Eluross closed the mouth he had opened to protest. Shaking his head in amazement at Thranduil's stern tone, he smiled slightly. "Where is the prince, anyway?" Eluross asked tiredly.
Thranduil glanced over his shoulder at the closed door to their left. "He and that ranger set up a makeshift bedroom in my study. It's in such a state I fear I won't be able to get it organized for at least five hundred years." His eyes flickered with worry. "Legolas refused to see a healer, saying that we don't know who we can trust now. He's right, I hate to admit it. But he just hates healers, too. I know Aragorn will take care of him, though. I can't believe how I've come to trust that human," he ended in a mutter. "Come, come, you can't distract me, Eluross! Off with you! Raun will keep things under control while you rest." He shooed Eluross to the door.
As he started in the other direction, back towards his study, Thranduil suddenly felt odd. The room spun for a moment and the king felt weak. He dropped to his knees, suddenly feeling queasy.
"My lord?" Eluross started, and then saw Thranduil drop to his knees. Swallowing his fear, the soldier ran back to the king. "Thranduil! Are you all right? What happened?"
Thranduil blinked. "I'm not sure. I don't know what I felt…" A wave of pain hit him, making his stifle a groan. Clenching his fists, he waited for it to subside. Once the pain left him, he breathed again. None of this had escaped Eluross.
"My lord, what is wrong? Are you wounded?"
"N-no," Thranduil replied, shaken. "I don't know what came over me."
He stood up slowly, Eluross jumping back when he saw Thranduil's indignant expression. "All right, all right. I'm leaving, my lord. But while your ordering me to sleep, why don't you get some yourself?"
Thranduil started to reply with some witty retort but never got the chance. Pain overwhelmed his senses and everything went black.
All right, see you at the next story! ^-^
